Melanie La Barrie as Hermes was a PERFECT choice. Her natural accent fits the character more than I thought it would. Hope they do a West End cast recording!!

Yeah she has this amazing intensity to her line delivery which I think is crucial for Hermes! I would literally sell my soul for a west end cast recording.
I already ADORE Melanie's Hermes.
The other Hermeses I've seen so far were not that attached to Orpheus, like they wouldn't care THAT much if he failed.
Here it feels like she is trying to stay detached from them but is failing, she is really scared for them
Agreed with the other Hermes not being as attached as Melanie but, her singing isnt as good as previous Hermes', then again everyone has their own tastes.
Eurydice’s accent just adds a special touch to these songs, she sounds incredible. Love this Hermes as well
This might be my favorite cast out of all of them, and she is def my favorite Hermes

I was at the second preview for this and the room was electric during this. The anticipation was unreal
I was at the third, it was an utterly insane atmosphere, I also saw it at the big night of musicals and it was almost as good but with the whole show's context it was brilliant
I was there first preview night and I didn't have many people in my sightline (top balcony) but I know several times the person next to me leaned forward in anticipation almost in sync with when I did
The harmonies sound so gorgeous 😍
Goodness GRACIOUS I hope that soprano Worker on the top harmony is a Eurydice understudy and I need to hear them stat
And also um this was gorgeous in so so many ways holy guacamole
As far as I know Miriam is a Eurydice Cover as she is the one with Bella (Fate 1) on the top as the other Eurydice cover is Madeline Charlemagne (Fate 2)

This cast is nothing compared to the Broadway cast, except Orpheus is WAY better
Okay, I sort of agree. My honest opinions for which I prefer:
Orpheus - 10000000 times better in west end. Dónal's VOICE oh my god
Eurydice - Broadway. No question. I genuinely think the accent in the West End feels almost strained? Just... something wasn't quite right, and its not their singing
Persephone - West End. Goddamn. What a powerhouse. The recordings I've seen here don't do her justice.
Hades - close, but West End had some lovely ~pizzaz~ that puts him on top.
Fates - pretty damn good in both
Hermes: tough one... Broadway, a little. Both were good for different reasons.
Workers: equal. Excellent.
@@szofiaosborne8007 I’m willing to take your word on Persephone, but nothing can beat Patrick Page’s Hades in my book. It’s like his voice was made specifically for that role
