Biloxi, Mississippi - So Many Parks 146

- For decades, Mississippi was home to only one roller coaster that was only open a few days out of the year. But from 2022 to 2023, three roller coasters popped up in the Gulf coast city of Biloxi. Two went to the Big Play Entertainment Center, and one can be found at the brand new Paradise Pier. The latter provided one of the most unexpectedly crazy coaster experiences I've ever had. Paradise Pier is a very underrated park. It's laid back with a fun atmosphere, has a nice collection of rides to scratch that thrill itch, and has an awesome bar that takes you up into the sky.
This is So Many Parks, So Little Time; a series where I document the many amusement parks I stop by this summer. Join me for some fun times, some great people, and of course the coasters. New videos every Tuesday and select Thursdays.

I been there so much times!
Awesome video!!!! I was just thinking about Big Play and then you talked about it in the video! Thanks man!
Thanks a lot! 😀
Your rolling thunder video looked great. What a beautiful day.
Thanks so much! The weather was perfect. It went from very hot and muggy earlier that day to comfortable temperatures that night.
CivilianSatellite: [seeing an SBF Visa Spinner] What the bleep is that?
Emperor Palpatine: [who is currently a majority shareholder in SBF Visa after cashing out insurance claims on two death stars] It is inevitable. It is your destiny!!
Joking aside, I had kinda suspected the Mississippi parks would be on your radar this season (only after rewatching the trailer, to which my spoiler-free guesses were already submitted). Paradise Pier gives me Funplex Myrtle Beach vibes (as I feel this is how Funplex would’ve looked had they more than an acre of space).
Sadly, I can’t say I will make it down that way any time soon, but it’s good to see a fellow enthusiast ride an actual Rolling Thunder hill in 2023.
All told, looking forward to the next leg of your adventure.
Considering Palpatine has dabbled in cloning, it would not surprise me that he would be a shareholder for SBF Visa lol.
I think that’s a very fair way to look at Paradise Pier, it kind of is a stretched out version of Funplex. But whereas Funplex is tiny and chaotic, Paradise Pier was very chill. Definitely a park I hope more people seek out.
Upside down rollercoaster looks too intense for me!
Just looking at upside down roller coaster makes me feel sick.
Rolling Thunder was a very pleasant surprise to me, that hamster wheel was a lot of fun even though I didn't get the insane 10 seconds of consecutive hangtime like you did.
The light packages at Big Play Entertainment Center look really nice, especially the one on Hurricane! Unfortunately Tornado was closed for me, they seemed to be doing some maintenance on that back car. I wonder if it had anything to do with that lap bar spontaneously coming up lol
The 10 seconds upside down really was one of the most ridiculous experiences I had on a coaster lol. I wouldn’t want to do it every time, but it was just hilarious!
That’s a shame about Tornado, but you’re not really missing much there. It would be funny if it was that lap bar that kept the ride shut.
I literally have to go to Mississippi again. It has been a really long time.
I can't speak for the rest of the state, but if you find yourself in Biloxi, there are some fun coasters waiting there for you!
@@CivilianSatellite I am definitely looking forward to that.
Things Pier and Falls have in common: Zamperla mostly, Rollin'/Rolling Thunder, spinning coaster, water, great parks for small trips. Basically, same thing.
I thought the Rollin’/Rolling Thunder at both parks was hilarious! Even though OWA was cheaper, larger, and had the bigger thrills, I actually preferred Paradise Pier. It felt a lot more laid back, and the Aerobar was awesome.
@@CivilianSatellite I am a thrill seeker, mostly enthusiast, and Rollin' Thunder holds my number one coaster, out of the twelve I've experienced, just the 3 coasters there (even the kiddie coaster) beat out Pier for me.
@@HayFatwithSurf I can see that! Would definitely love to see more thrill rides and thrill coasters in your part of the country. Between the two parks, I can see Tropic Falls getting something special.
They have this ride in Myrtle Beach at Funplex
I actually liked this one more than the one at Myrtle Beach. It's smoother and had better hangtime, but I really enjoyed both coasters.
This place would get destroyed by a hurricane
Given the devastation the resort experienced after Hurricane Katrina, I would hope that they accounted for tropical cyclones during the planning and construction of the park. Plenty of seaside amusement parks have survived hurricanes.
Have you been to Adventureland on Long Island that’s wear I’m from
@@kgoger I have been to Adventureland, but I haven't been back in 10 years. I want to get out there at some point to ride Turbulence and Fireball.
