Hell don cheadle came in as a bigger name than either Chris when it began. Vin diesel is big but his character is cgi generated and Dave Bautista was a wwe star and not Hollywood blockbuster. Zoe Saldana could have an argument as a top name but being in avatar most didn’t know it was her due to the cgi over her face and Colombiana was her next biggest which kinda flopped but I personally like. However, none of them have the same pure quantity of movies as RDJ. It’s very much a mixture of timing, Star power prior, and lack of multi movie deals. RDJ was gotten for 500k because he was a top actor but was struggling with drugs and alcohol and bad press. So he was underpaid vs his draw. That role was his massive comeback. He didn’t need the same level of job security the others needed as he was in tropic thunder shortly thereafter. Sam Jackson was the only in any similar situation but he was never a main character.
