I was shocked to read the other comments, does no one still know what this animation means? In my own perception, the first ice cream was scared of his future, he was like... waiting for the right time. Though, there were no signs or etcetera he could see -he still waited; and at those times, he was just wasting time giving himself time to be prepared. He always seems to choose to stay in his comfort zone. He was not willing to take the risk to be in a better place. Until he became brave to face the circumstances whatever it may be and take the risk; but it's too late. Because the truth is... there's no perfect time, you'll never be ready and it is impossible not to get hurt in this world so you have to be strong. While the second ice cream, I think it's about his past. He's afraid to move forward because the feeling of fear from his past was still holding him back or maybe because of guilt? That he did nothing when his friend died. Then, he tried to move forward in life and moved on from the past because it was depressing. And when he gradually did, he became happy again, but he also became careless. That's why his life turned upside-down. I don't know if this makes sense but whatever.
