Electrical engineers, technicians, hobbyists, and auto mechanics use oscilloscopes to view wave forms. Oscilloscopes are the tool that allows them to actually see what’s going on. This unboxing, review, and tutorial is for an OSC482F USB Oscilloscope received free from Loto Instruments for evaluation.
The OSC482 is a 2 channel USB Oscilloscope and Data Logger. According to the specs, max sampling rate is 50 Mega samples/sec (shared), and sine wave bandwidth is 20 MHz at -3 db. A shared sampling rate means it’s divided across all the logic and oscilloscope channels. Channel A and B input sensitivity, goes from 20 mV/div to 2 V/div, in 7 ranges. Input impedance is 1 mega ohm. Over voltage protection is +-60 volts with the 1x probe, +-600 volts with the x10 probe. To be extra safe I’d never exceed 120 volts. Scope size is 6x3.7x0.9 inches (153x93x23 mm). Weight is 7 ounces (198 grams).
The OSC482 is Loto’s entry level scope. Loto offers other models with higher sampling rates, bandwidths, and different options; they are priced accordingly. For example, their OSCH02 model has 1 Gig sampling and a 100 Meg bandwidth. Operationally all Loto scopes work similarly, are value priced, and in my opinion are a good deal. This introductory presentation gives you the flavor of Loto’s USB oscilloscope product line.

This is a brief status update. As an electrical engineer, I've now used the Loto Instruments OSC482F oscilloscope for a year. It's been a very handy tool and is still working great. Currently OSC482F software is running on my HP 840 G3 i7 laptops (Windows 10 Pro). Also on my UMIDIGI A9 Pro smartphones (Android 10 and 11). I love using this product and think you will too.

Thanks for the video. The F version is twice as expensive than the version without a letter. Is it worth the extra? I don't need AC, more than 48V, and I'm still quite a beginner in electronics.

Suggest you ask this question on Facebook's User Group for LOTO USB Oscilloscopes. Either Lucus Lue, a Loto Tech Support guy, or one of the other 270 members will be able to give you an accurate answer. Good luck!
