Hugo, it looks like a good budget option. I also like it is small. You can easily put it in a corner on your desk or in a side pocket in your laptop bag. Great review.

Hey Tron, nice to "see" you again. Thank you, yeah I liked, some small issues to improve, but overall it is a nice product and I really love the all Open Source idea and DIY probes and so on. Thanks for watching and for your comment! 👍

33:20 totally agree, they need a kind of custom presets which you can turn on and off but that is just a software issue that can be fixed easily and could be called a showcase if they do listen and react cause all their OSC models will suffer from that issue the same way.
45:55 again 100% that the colour have to match the colours on the screen or it needs a menu to change those colours which would mean an alarm when you start using that module to match the colour of the logic analyzer.
I hope loto will work on all the flaws you had discovered in this video cause they are annoying and drag the whole value of the product down even though it is superior over the hantek 6022 series ( lot more noise unconnected with a probe, unable to reach the 20 Mhz specs, just around 1 mhz it quit) I had purchased first and then the owon vds1022i.
This video convinced me to even go ahead and sell the owon 1022i to get the OSC482M for 80€ and the hscope licence for 12€ even though the fnirsi 1014 or so video had made me tempted to get a bench scope but that fft function showed me that the bench scope software developement is far slower than for the USB oscilloscope that last far long and will be supported better.
The final answer came from Martin Loren that all the Loto OSCA02 and OSC482 will work out of the box with his hscope android app once you have an otg adapter so there is no need to buy the M versions to get android support as loto made us believe at least on the amazon US store if you check the question section where someone had asked if the basic version supports hscope. They said they do not know about hscope but that their OSC482M version will work with android. What does a customer do and think ? Need to buy the m version
But that was - regarding official comments - developed for third world countries with no google play store access, even though loto themself offers such versions on aliexpress for all customers in the west to make them purchase it from them even though more expensive than getting the basic model and purchasing the full app from the hscope app developer.
Just try it out and connect the X version you had gotten with signal generator and logic analyzer with an android phone using an otg adapter and then install the hscope software. You will be blown away cause then you have an isolated, flowing oscilloscope at your hand with the best and sharpest display you had ever seen cause usually those bench oscilloscopes come with weak and cheap displays compared to your phone and tablet.
great video and in depth analysis of the scope even touching the whole decoding stuff that comes with every loto device as the low noise level compared to hantek who is cutting the hardware cost everywhere and therefore even misses a ac coupler which simply needs a 14 picofarrad capacitor on each channel. today I had found the diy ac coupler from the gadget playlist channel that would have helped me out but already sold the hantek 6022BL due to that missing feature.
Hope to see loto supporting you with the next model and an improved software version where the bugs are fixed and the usability has improved like the custom set of tools / values to display or turn off as a whole.

Hi. I know that Loto saw the video and I have their direct contact, let me be honest, they contacted me 2 to 3 months ago because of the new software version and the new remote feature. They will send me also the new function generator (at least I was informed of that) to test. I didn't had yet the time to upgrade my PC software and see if some of the issues mentioned were fixed. Soon, I will do it soon, I will try to do it this next month (march). Let's see how it goes! 😁

HI! Thanks for the support and for watching! 👍

  • @typxxilps
    @typxxilps Pƙed 2 lety +2

Great explanation but I have some points worth to mention compared to the Hantek 6022 and Owon vds1022i
    * OSCA02 / OSC482 and all the others come with ac coupling the hantek do not offer
    * all loto OSC* come with far lower noise level you can check easily by watching the signal without any probe connected
    * all OSC* models come along with a decoding uart/SPI, CAN, ... bus feature on their windows software
    * loto does not tell you that you do not need to buy the M version to get android support
The whole loto modularity is pretty complicated if you understand their system cause partly these models are locked.
You might get a cheap OSC482 and later buy their Logic Analyzer. But that will be crap at arrival cause it will not work.
You need to ship the OSC482 back to the manufacturer to unlock the Logic Analyzer part by a firmware upgrade.
But these 2 times shipping costs will exceed the value by far, so you have to sell the old and get the OSC482L with logic module and right firmware.
You would not know that if you do not digg into it deeply cause if you buy their function generator later then this piece will work without any firmware upgrade.
So it took me 1 week to find out about the whole Android mess cause on amazon in US the support fools the customers when they ask for android support or if the ask if hscope app will be supported. They claim that customers have to buy the 20€ more expensive OSC482M which contains an OTG adapter and a licence, nothing else. If you ask them officially then they claim that this is an edition for third world markets without any google play store access.
You should let the viewers know that they do not have to buy the android versions cause all will work with the free hscope app and if you want more like 2 channel support or math functions or ftr then you can purchase the full version via app store . And I believe that the developer Martin Loreen will get far more from our direct purchase then from the licence sold with the loto sale generated.
Here is an overview of the current Ali Express prices incl. 19% VAT and shipping to Germany from end of february 2022
    OSC482 65,67€
    OSC482L 78,79€ = OSC482 + 4 channel logic analyzer
    OSC482M 86,45€ = OSC482 + Android hscope licence + OTG Adapter
    OSC482S 90,83€ = OSC482 + signal generator (on banggood just 16€ incl. shipping)
    OSC482X 103,96€ = OSC482 + signal generator + 4 channel logic analyzer
    OSC482F 124,74€ = OSC482 + signal generator + 4 channel logic analyzer + Android
OSC482D 98,49€ = OSC482 + differential isolation module (but only 1 channel free - so better to get the owon vds1022i)
    OSC482H 158,67€ = OSC482 + signal generator + 4 channel logic analyzer + Android + differantial isolation module
If you - like I - need a logic module then you would get the L version for 79€.
If you would not know that all OSC models would run by default with hscope then you would have to look for the cheapest model with Logic Analyzer and Android which would be the 125€ model OSC482F.
That is pretty much the same like you had gotten with the X, even though the better OSCA02X.
You would think by the data above that this X compared to the F version would simply miss the android capability, but that is not missing, only the otg adapter - so if you connect your OSCA02X with an android device by an otg adapter and install the hscope app then you will see that you have gotten the F version except the licence for the full hscope app which you can get for 12€ or even less depending on where you live. And 8€ just for an USB OTG adapter is a lot considering that I had paid less than 3 € for a combined micro usb and usb type adaptor, a 2 in 1 otg adapter.
Good review and I hope that people will not get fooled like I had been when I had thought that I need to get the 125€ model with a signal generator I did not need instead of the 80€ one.
Loto has good products, good value for the money but their modularity make it pretty complicated as the website too which is not even offering spec sheets. You can find those only on their ali Express shop but also only as jpg so it is a nightmare to compare their own spec sheets with each other not being able to copy the specs from one spec sheet to Excel and so on.
The only way to get access to their real spec sheets is what ?
An open googledrive folder with subfolders and 21 pages long descriptions and spec sheets for each oscilloscope.
And that link is really tough to find and the googledrive not what you expect to use to get updates and specs.
The hardware seems to be pretty decent.
You can check the noise issue also on the gadget playlist channel who had discovered that in 2019 at the end of his osc482 presentation video and who also had clarified that each of the OSC482 will work with android once you have an otg adaptor and google play access.

Hi, I'm going to resume the answer to the global of your text that was pretty informative and full of information, kudos and thanks for that. I touched a weak point of a lot of chinsese manufacturers, the documentation and support website. The documentation is a movie in a lot of manufacturers. Loto hardware seemed to be ok, but the documentation and specs really needs to be improved. I'm going to do a video very soon about how you can remote monitor the readings with your Loto oscilloscope, this is a plus for them, no extra cost for this feature. im getting the time to make it happen. But again, you touched some good points on your comment. Thanks for watching.

Very nice device. I really would like to know how it will compare to the Owon VDS6102A (4Channel: VDS6104A). I know the owon is much more expensive (approx. 450€ for the 4CH-A Model incl. VAT in Austria) but which one would you choose as an USB Scope. The highest model they offer ist the OSCH02H and is approx. 330€. IMHO the pico scopes are overpriced regarding price-performance ratio! What do you think? :-)

Hey Markus, I really would love to test against that one, but Owon sent me a lot o material to test, some of them quite expensive and for now I am gonna be quit in terms of asking for more stuff to test 😁 but the Loto has some nice features, I will do a video soon showing theirs new feature that allow you to remote monitor using a Loto oscilloscope connected to a server and client software, pretty cool! You can have several Loto's connected to a server software and monitor everything using a client on Windows. I'm working on it, it should come out in a week or so. No investment needed to have that, just update. Thanks for watching 👍

@@TechCornerTV Don't take it the wrong way brother. I wanted to submit my review and that was all that was submitted. I liked the video I am an electrical engineering student in Peru and this equipment will become my first oscilloscope. I try to showcase every device, someones "garbage" is other man "treasure", so one equipment might not meet the "needs" of a person, but be exactly what other person need. On my way of seeing things, I try to give completest information I can, so you guys can have the most information possible when deciding to buy. Really gald I could help and thanks for you comment. Sorry but ruined by the music. Much too loud sometimes and background music distracts from what you're saying. I couldn't get past about 15 minutes into the video. This is all too common with many CZcams channels. Why do it?

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  Pƙed 2 lety

Hey Roger, Ok, fair opinion and point taken. You asked why I do it, so let me explain: I know that my voice can be a bit monochordic when recording and also I have a day job that pays the bills (the channel gives only expenses, not even pays it self) and that makes that I have to record in the night. In my process, I record first in portuguese (my natural language and where I can get the ideas on the right way faster) and after in english. In this specific video I ended recording at 5am and at that hour, sometimes in my speech I already have some spaces (silences) between sentences and the music helps the video no being so boring. That is the reason I add music. I understand that it might be too much and might need some level adjustment or if enough users say it will better without the music, I'll take it off completelly.
I do this for you guys and also for me, but just because it is fun and allow me to learn tons of new things in a field that I love, but didn't had the chance to pursue profissionally.
There is always room for improvement and with your comments and others from other viewers, I have a feedback of what you guys like most and can improve the final result. I do appreciate your comment, seriouslly, because theres something in life that you can't buy and that is time, so, I am grateful for the time you spend watching the video and even didn't likeing it you spare a bit more to give your feedback ❀ Thats important for me. I will try to improve in the next videos. Stay safe and thank you. 👍

@@TechCornerTV Thanks for the detailed reply. I understand what you're trying to do and I do appreciate you taking the trouble of making a second video in English, but for me the music doesn't help. I would rather have quiet spaces so I can at least try and absorb what you have said instead of the music that makes concentrating difficult. Maybe I'm getting too old and cranky. If you insist on having music at least please don't have it blaring loud at times compared to the volume of your talking so at least people don't have to rush to turn down the volume multiple times during a video. Anyway I wish you all the best in the future.
