    Fantastic review and incredibly helpful! Shooting at 27"/55#, I've been thinking SD. But given the minimal speed difference and the smoother still draw of the SS, looks like I will be shooting it against the Hoyt Ventum 30. Thanks again for all the great information you offer to the bow community.

    I bought the Bowtech BT-X 28 when it came out because it gave me the best performance and feel for my 27" draw. I have never looked back. I'm glad Bowtech is still making premium level 28" cams for us T-Rex armed guys.

    Just bought the SD Wednesday, 28.5" set at 57lbs on the 60lb version. Shot it for about 2 hours yesterday. Easy to tune, my broadheads are flying as good if not better than field points out to 60 yards. Looking forward to October 1st

    REALLY shocked at that minimal speed difference between the SD and the SS. My LH SD is arriving this week so I am excited to set it up. I ordered that just because in the past with all my other Bowtechs my speed has suffered at my draw length of 26.5". I even skipped buying the Revolt last year just because my Realm from the year before was really slow at 26.5"/60#. Plus, it's not like your arrow weight choice (385 g) was really heavy and caused that to suffer. Actually, 375 to 420 g should be the sweet spot for that set up. I was thinking the SD should have been 10-12 fps faster than the SS. I do have to say though, I had the opportunity to set up my wife's EVA GEN 2 recently (it's actually the exact same bow as the SD) and that Dead Lock Technology is just incredible to fine tune the set up!! It literally tuned in five minutes!! Thanks again for your reviews.

    I'm lucky enough to live less than an hour from the factory. I shot the SS and the Solution today and they were both great shots. I personally loved the Solution as the difference between the 2 felt very minimal and the speed was just insane compared to the 15 year old Diamond Justice I'm currently shooting. I've got my order in for a Solution with a Smoke Gray riser and the Altitude camo on the limbs(I hope looks as cool as I'm thinking it will). I've never owned a brand new bow and I am beyond excited to start shooting it!

    John, I love your content brother!
    I love the people at bowtech, but I gotta be honest, too much composite (plastic) used in important areas of the Bow. If they could work and evolve with the clutch grip, I'd like them better as well.
    I'm not hating on em, just not confident enough IMHO. I've been waiting for reviews from you!

    Great video. A lot of people are going to be interested in a Revolt vs. Solution SS comparison, because they are so similar in specs. I'll probably buy one or another. The Revolt wins on paper, but the Solution SS is newer so the thought is it might be a more refined design. I guess shooting both will decide it. I doubt Bowtech will keep making both for long, so might be time to pull the trigger soon.
    Other reviews showed that on comfort that the Revolt came in 10 fps under stated IBO with 20 grains on the string (taking into account draw length/weight), and 5 fps under on performance. An IBO speed calculator (using 320 IBO, 12 under stated) and 60 lbs etc (given specs) predicts a 255 fps speed on that SS (10 over what you got). This to me indicates that it real world it is slower than the Revolt (significantly so). It might be that it doesn't like the 27" draw length (doesn't scale down well). The tests I saw on the Revolt were at 29" or 30".

    • @toddlymburner5783
      @toddlymburner5783 Před 3 lety

      You are bang on! Those are really slow speeds even in comfort setting. I had a RevoltX last year at 70 pounds and a 26 inch draw I shot a 420 grain arrow 259 FPS in performance which I was disappointed in and that’s better then the “speed” bow of this year. Bowtech speeds suck and are not efficient at shorter draw lengths, even the ones that are supposed to be.

    • @jasonbrady7861
      @jasonbrady7861 Před 3 lety

      I'd be curious to see the revolt and solution ss compared side by side as well. The specs are so similar... The cams look bigger and rounder on the ss, so it likely does have a smoother feel to it... you would likely be happy with either one. The ss does just look like an improved revolt to me... can't see bowtech selling many revolts now, however the revolt x still has differentiators so I'd imagine it'll keep selling for them... maybe you'll be able to find a good deal on a revolt and the lower price will pull you that way.. good luck!

    • @toddlymburner5783
      @toddlymburner5783 Před 3 lety

      @@jasonbrady7861 the solution to me is a SR6 type bow with deadlock cams. Which is what people have been asking for. Good for Bowtech for listening to their customers. If your a young child, smaller female or older person the Solution SS is perfect as it has a really smooth draw. To me though it makes no sense though why anyone would buy a Solution over a VXR, V3 or Rx-4 or Rx-5. Those bows have crazy horse power that’s effective at all draw lengths. Bowtechs cams traditionally are horrible slow speeds for draw lengths under 29, it’s the shape of their cams and this cam looks like the SR6 cam which was horrible at draw lengths under 29. PSE, Matthews, Hoyt will give you WAY more horsepower be just as accurate and vibe free. I shot a RevoltX last year, liked it very much until I shot the other bows. Settled on the VXR and Hoyt RX4 Alpha. Ran them and the RevoltX through the chronograph and the VXR and RX-4 left the RevoltX in the dust and shot just as good.

      @@toddlymburner5783thanks for your input. I shoot a Revolt X... shoots like a dream. It was the one for me for several reasons. The deadlock system, grip, feel, balance, smooth draw and overall shooting experience. I agree that Mathews and Hoyt make some great bows, but I have no regrets on my choice. We're lucky to have so many great options as archers!

    Thx for the review! Were you drawing the solution on the performance or comfort setting? If like my Reign 6, the comfort setting will make it feel like you have to push the bow to get it to let down. Curious if it’s the same.

    • @LuskArcheryAdventures
      @LuskArcheryAdventures  Před 3 lety

      I shot them on both, but in this test they were on Performance. My SR6 has that same characteristic...it's due to the cam. As I commented in this vid, each of the 3 models were different in their let down.

    • @strixoutdoors
      @strixoutdoors Před 3 lety

      Very interesting. I'll likely go shoot them this year. The draw cycle on my Reign 6 was pretty tough on Performance and I feel like my accuracy has decreased with the Comfort setting. Will be interesting to see what the Solution will do. I'm trying to push a 630gr arrow as fast as I can though so it's always a tough sell to myself to get a new bow if I'm not actually gaining any fps.

  • @GBBLGBL
    @GBBLGBL Před 3 lety

    I borrowed an SS yesterday and did a speed test with my SD. I had to drop the draw weight of the stock SS from 62.6 down to exactly 60# to match my SD. Both bows were set at 27”. There was a 10 fps difference between the two with the SD being faster. Just like publicized chart showing the Solution, the SS, the SD, the SR6 and the Revolt. Are you sure BOTH bows were set to the exact same draw weight in your test? Others have stated they also are seeing 8-10 fps between these two. My SD and the one in your test were IDENTICAL speed with the same weight arrow. Maybe your SS was “pulling a little hot” just like I found with the one I checked? One other thing to add is I actually prefer the draw of the SD over the SS and especially prefer the back wall of the SD. It’s much firmer and the draw length between the two feels about 1/4” different with the SS feeling a touch longer.

    • @LuskArcheryAdventures
      @LuskArcheryAdventures  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for the question Myron. Unfortunately, that's pretty impossible for me to answer. It all comes down to how the bow feels and performs in your hand. Accuracy will be great with any of them, provided you have good form and a well constructed, properly spined arrow with good FOC. The smoothest will be the SS, but you'll lose a bit of speed. You should go to a shop and see how the SS, and Solution and the new SR350 feel in your hand. But I would say the SS is probably going to be the smoothest.

So it's hard for me to say what's best for you and your hunting style and frame. The best thing to do would be to go to a shop and try them out--or at least study the specs about each one. Yeah, this year has been crazy with bow orders in every brand, due to Covid.

      Actually I just got word that bowtech totally messed up my order after waiting 18 weeks. Even after confirming the order in april and june. Very upset.

      No compensation from bowtech side at all. No attempt to make it right. Just left hanging and tying up my time and money preventing me from getting something else. I have to use my old bow now. Thank goodness I kept shooting it.

    Are the IBO speeds based on the comfort or speed setting?

      The IBOs are based on Performance; I tested them on both and recorded both in the sheet at the end...but only videoed the Comfort tests.

      Yeah, they're just so different. I love the Deadlock Technology...but I love the smoothness and speed of my SR6 as well.

    You hunt that much and have been shooting bow that long and you still have to bring your bow to a shop for tuning?

    Shoot a traditional bow. Compounds are bows with training wheels. Lol! Kind of like a ebike. Lol at them too. We are doomed!
