her best joke was when she called Robin a mudslide lol. But I think the best joke of the whole roast was when Gilbert told the story of Joan slithering her way back to the drain pipe or somethingXD
I love how each of them has such a distinct iconic trademark style. Joan is straight up ferocious and her mind works so fast that you can’t even catch up but just laugh speechlessly. Betty plays up the sweet old lady and delivers unexpected zingers.
You forgot Cloris Leachman. She was killing it.

@@LuisVilaMX She’s just blunt, and how straight faced she is almost betrays how clever her jokes are. You would think she was just straight up roasting you (which she is) but it leaves you thinking because there’s almost always a second meaning or another zinger coming right behind the first.

The way Joan Rivers drank those glasses of beverage before throwing them behind HER OWN BACK and SLAPPING Kathy Griffin, was JUST EPIC, and FLAWLESS. Oh my, she sure is a ICONIC LEGEND.

Cloris died at the beginning of 2021 and Betty died at the end of 2021, and as a result, now all members of both Golden Girls and The Mary Tyler Moore Show are all gone

Joan and Cloris completely destroyed the stage, blunt force trauma, but Betty really showed the craft, the delivery, timing, rhythm, pausation. It was like watching a Kung Fu master showing how much you have to learn.
Betty white is a genius actress. The way she told her jokes were perfectly paced and each had the right inflections to make them hilarious.

As I watched all of this, it brought tears to my eyes. It wasn't just the laughs, but all the great comics that have passed on. Leachman is fantastic! Killed a part of me when she left. And another one when White died. But, Saget, McDonald, Godfrey, and many more have left such a mark on many of us.

I'm 69 years old now and I remember in high school watching Joan Rivers do standup comedy. She was hilarious and was throughout her whole career. I also loved her on Fashion Police. Because of Joan is the only reason I watched it. I also want to say I think Kathy Griffin is another great standup comic. She could talk all night and all I could do was laugh nonstop.
that’s so cool :) i’m about 40 years younger than you and it’s so wild to me to think that comedians like joan rivers have had such an impact that they could influence both of our age groups. she inspired my own standup style. i first saw her on fashion police and then learned she was a comedian later. i’m glad youtube exists so i can watch old stand up performances since i caught on to her and many other legendary comedians’ standup late haha.
