My best money advice for you from 7 decades of living!
You said you where 68
I thought you where 68
@@volcanic_3608 Yes I am just over 68! Pray for me! :)
ASMR GRANDPA my grandpa is almost 69!
@@CHATTYGRANDPA where can I send requests for personalized videos? I'll pay!
I am watching this 5 years later, I am Gen Z and I and I loved this video, thank you so much.
Thank you grandpa trippe! (if I ever spelled that wrong sorry!) but I really like your videos. It makes me feel calm while being informed. Whether it's about food or life lessons. I'm really glad that I found your channel. Wish you all the best :) Goodluck with your channel!
I appreciate the nice note from you. I will gauge the response from everyone to see if this content is 'desired'.
This is very nice! It's nice to see someone from the older generation offer genuine advice without having a "holier than thou" attitude. This channel is criminally underrated!
I'm technically a millennial but I don't feel like one when I read the media (apparently we spend all our money on coffee and avocados 😁)! This is a great video and very relaxing.
I am technically a baby boomer but I feel much younger! For instance, this channel. Or maybe I am just afraid to recognize aging. At my high school reunion in June, I felt totally out-of-place. And I have 'struggled' some with being retired.
I really appreciate and value your advice Trippe! Thank you very much for taking the time to put together the information for this video.
Thanks, Nico! I will see what kind of response I get.
Trippe congrats I have been watching your videos for almost 1 year and a half I have been awarded from you tube multiple times for being the most liked comments on your channel. It’s truly been a pleasure I have watched your videos throughout so many chapters in my life and your videos have always been right beside me.
Cayden I guess that is the greatest compliment ... 'right beside me'!
Please do more videos on general life advice! We Gen Z-ers and Millennials need to hear it
I just want to say Thank You for sharing your time and you wisdom. It is so nice of you to share your time and kindness with strangers.
I hope ppl get something out of it!
I would really love to hear you do some more financial advice!
Will see!
Still can't wait to watch this one later and I'm sure there's a lot I can learn from it when I do. Hope you're having a great day, everybody!
I love these types of videos from you! Keep them coming!!
So nice of you Dolly! Whether I continue with 'advice' videos depends upon the response.
Loved the video! Nothing but honesty and facts, your looking great man!
Looking great? Happy to just be alive, my young friend!😊
Love your vids man! Great job keep it up
Thanks for the help,a lot of my friends should probably watch this as it is very helpful as you said
Then you can tell them, right?
Ye I’ve sent them the link
Enjoy the new name ❤ in my final year of studying Financial Economics, so its nice to hear your perspective on things....great video as always Trippe!
I loved eco! 2 courses at undergrad and 2 as grad student. 2 were macro and 2 were micro.
I have recently discovered your channel and I must tell you, I love your asmr content (not that your other content isn't good, I just like asmr). Great channel!
Very sweet of you Jennifer!
Thanks, Trippe! I need a lot of financial advice. 😳 Such a great video!
Wish more ppl would pay attention in these times!

Omg! The way you speak is divine
(blush)
Thank you for this!
Glad it was helpful!
I love you im just gonna say it and i respect you for what you said here in this video alone. thankyou!
Hope it helped in some way!
I’m on the cusp of Gen Z and millennial but I guess I’ll still take your advice 😉
This advice applies to any age ... it is just that the younger you are, the more time you have to 'correct' things. However, some life mistakes are so serious, they will handicap you nearly forever.
I'm 17 years old and always used to basically throw my money away until now. I grew up listening to old music and have always been fond of the 60s and 70s. I would buy old albums of the Beatles, CSN&Y, the rolling stones etc almost every week. It took a while for me to realize that a collection like that should develop over time. I would also say I would want to save up for a car but about after a week the small amount of money I had saved would be taken and used to buy more music. Now the past couple months I've finally put my foot down and decided to put my money into a savings account to save up for something I've always wanted and said I would get but never perused it, and thats to buy a 1970 Chevy Nova. I'm glad I realized that if you save up it will pay off for when you can buy the things you want most.
Sorry for a ramble! lol
I LOVED the ramble! Yes you must sacrifice now to build your future. Let me know how you progress and GOOD LUCK to you.
@@CHATTYGRANDPA Thank you!
Here is a link to video where I was speaking @69 years to myself at 17, your age! czcams.com/video/8n-CPeRoJYU/video.html
@@CHATTYGRANDPA That's cool!
I love your advice videos pls make more lol ❤️
I might do some of that in my livestreams in the future!
please do more of this ❤❤
Thanks grandpa. Love ya loads
Love you right back!
I liked this, more informative/advice videos would be cool! And maybe even some story times with good food! :)
You are an Angel! I do have a variety of content in my playlists and food videos with short commentaries embedded. Please look around my playlists!
ASMR GRANDPA i will! I subscribed! I look forward to more content! 😊
This is a great channel.
Well thanks
This is excellent!
I appreciate that! If ore ppl liked it, I would make dozens but they don't!
@@CHATTYGRANDPA keep trying Grandpa I’m listening 🤗🤗🤗
Please make more advice videos! I love these :)
I am glad you liked it! They take a lot of work!
I don't mind the work but if a lot of ppl don't watch, I wonder why I should do it. That is tragic because I have lots of education, work experience, and 'age' that could help others. But most ppl would rather watch someone scarf down a big burger and fries than watch that video.
@@CHATTYGRANDPA I understand! It really is too bad, because my first memories of ASMR are related to my grandmother giving me sage advice. And I can tell you have a lot to share with us! But I'm a faithful subscriber either way :) keep up the good work!!
Amazing video, just started saving towards the final 30% of my down payment for my house.
I’m 24, putting down for a 15-year mortgage. Unfortunately, there are no fixed rates where I am, but the first 5 years are fixed at 3.4% ir.
All my friends roasted me for being frugal and driving my first car until now and beyond, but I think I might have a chance at home ownership.
Don't listen to your friends. You are doing great!
@@CHATTYGRANDPA Thank you! It’s just, with social media and all, I sometimes don’t know what to expect of myself. I feel like I should be much further already, so hearing that from your position is great. :)
The whistle
hey grandpa! you look a little bit like my grandpa who i never met, thanks for the advice! hope you are holding up well in this pandemic.
Sorry you did not get to know him! I am doing ok!
Thank you
You're welcome
He’s in the same vein as TheReportOfTheWeek (ReviewBrah) except instead of acting old he actually is old
I’ve made a lot of mistakes with my money regret it all lol
I have a lifetime of mistakes. IF you are young you have much time to recover!
Hi, posting this comment in advance before actually watching the video properly (because I'm tired and will probably fall asleep while listening). First off, hats off to you, sir, for offering your experience and knowledge. Second, it's very cool to see older people do ASMR.
Now, to the point: while I know you don't offer financial advice, how do you think a young lower middle-class employee should protect themselves from the coming difficult economic times? I'm worried of a repeat of 2011 debt bubble due to the negative yields for debts all over the world. I already invested in silver (gold is quite expensive and I need to have savings) as well as a select few stocks (even though the stock market is inflated and in danger of deflating).
I've also started working overtime and tried to cut down on my spending, in order to gain more capital for savings and investments.
What more can/should I do to protect myself from a recession, depression or even hyperinflation (in the absolute worst case) in the short/medium term?
Thank you in advance.
NaCl You see the same problems I do. We have no control over macro economic forces. It is impossible to predict the future. My daughter has mostly followed the advice in the video. I believe that is the best you can do. If you do that you well ahead of your peers.
Do that and enjoy your life!
How could I imagine at my age social security and Medicare might fail? Or that my interest income might be crushed by the fed?i don’t think a little silver is going to make a difference.
Diversify assets- marry well - be healthy- pick a good profession - start a business
@@CHATTYGRANDPA Alright. Thank you for your answer.
Don't buy expensive depreciating assets is always a good one lol
U R right!
Well hello grandpa tripp
Hey ya, Pennywise!
Its weird because I don't think of myself as a millenial... I grew up in the 80's and 90's and I actually wasn't keen on early 2000's stuff. I feel that status should have just been for people who were born around that time... there should have been another term I guess...
i guess i am a solid boomer for better or worse
👍👍👍
16:57 "Savings is the cash you keep.... in a safe place"
Me: Is he about to tell us about his drug fortune?
xD Just kidding, loved the tips!
Cute, Sarah!
I would have thought you were younger!
I LOVE YOUUU
I'm Gen Z I need the advice
Not a millennial, I am an 80's kid but still enjoyed the vid.. uploaded one of my own today but I doubt it will get many views :D haha
It applies to any age, I think!
😴
Can somone put time stamps
I have 6 grand in my account and I’m 19 will i be financially free if I keep saving ?
You need time, discipline and the markets.
Bill nighy? 😮
Yes heard that before
How would one be wealthy , investing?
We could talk that for hours.
This would be so good, but there’s waaaaaay too many loud adverts for an asmr video
They do get annoying
Grandpa Trippe are you apart of LDS? Tithing is a term definitely used by the church.
These days logic and common sense r not so common...we live in a foolish, childish society
This guy would hate me
why?
@@CHATTYGRANDPA my use of money, habits, lifestyle, perspective and because I believe Epstein DID kill himself
Don't know about Epstein but you can change habits as you already see room for improvement. I have shortcomings too.
Some people unfortunately get into a program they realize isn’t for them, and are put into “educational” debt that they now have to deal with
We all have to deal with it one way or another as it has added 1.7 trillion $ to our debt. You (and my little girl) will be paying it off!
Are you a millionaire?
Unless the gov/economy collapses, I should be ok.
ffff
I would like to disagree with this 10:15 free education would lead to a higher standard of living for the future citizens of the USA even though you might be paying off that off taxes it would help poorer citizens to escape poverty and the new era we are entering will have a need for more collage students because factories, restaurants , and more will become increasingly more automated.
Disagreement noted! Thank you! However, I think I was even more correct than I imagined as the Dems here now want to pay off up to $50K of student loans. So those like my dau and son-in-law are 'losers' as they already worked hard and paid off their loans.
Well then don’t you want your grandchildren to have free education
@@Someone-ee3ny There is no "free"! Someone must pay for it!
Like how we already pay for 1-12th
@@Someone-ee3ny College is much more expensive and too many students are there who should not be. 1-12 is paid by tax dollars because it is considered a common set of values all should have (supposedly).
Thank you for making this video!
Glad it was helpful!
