Once again, I really appreciate the microphone tests. It's oddly overlooked by a lot of other reviews, and for some people it could be difference between an endgame cable or one they are going to put back up on the shelf and keep searching. The build quality on these Moondrop cables appears to be pretty solid, so what intrigues me the most is the microphones.
Like I mentioned in the MC1 video, the microphone on that sounds incredible. However, the MC2 appears to have a slightly worse microphone, which is (yet again) surprising when you consider that the cable is roughly the same price as the FreeDSP. In terms of preference (from least to most favorite), I would say FreeDSP > MC2 > MC1.
I wonder if the microphone on similar priced offerings to the MC1 (like the Tripowin Grace or the Zombur) would beat it, while having (arguably) better looking materials.
Keep up the awesome work!
Yeah I agree the MC1 mic sounds a little better. I’m happy the reviews have information you find useful!
Thanks for the review
Can you tell me if this cable works on the DUNU TITAN S
been using this cable for over half a year, and I like it to the point that if it breaks I'll just buy another MC2.
this sounds like a dumb question, but I wonder if the cable will fit snugly with the Lan. I know that it's a Moondrop IEM (for context, all my other IEMs are from other brands), but the stock cable it comes with seems more akin to the MC1. I'm not gonna use it since i prefer having cables with inline mics, so i plan to pair the Lan with my MC2. It'll be my first actual Moondrop IEM, so I'm actually concerned about the fit even tho they're both from the same company so i shouldn't be as worried as i am rn
I have the LAN. MC2 fits perfectly.
This is probably a dumb question, but how do you back/skip songs? I threw out the manual and when i press the button i can pause. However, doing a double/triple press or holding just pauses/plays the song. Do I maybe a faulty unit?
Double and triple should work for fwd/rev. What device are you using it with?
So plugged in directly to my windows laptop, the button doesn't do anything. However when plugged into a usb c hub to the laptop, only pressing the button does play/pause. Unfortunately, I don't think I gave another device to connect it to.
@@rice5094 I don't have a Windows laptop to test with. I checked it does work with my Macbook, iPhone, iPad and Android DAP. Any chance you can try it with your phone or something?
Yes I literally just bought the apple dac for my phone. So far single Press and double press and holding work. Trying to triple press just either skips or pauses but honestly I'm fine with it as it is. I appreciate you going out of your way to try it out of your stuff
So weird, I tested mine with the Apple dongle and it worked. Sorry I couldn’t solve it, happy to help though!
may i know the did your button work on pc / laptop ?
Button works on my Macbook, play/pause, skip, back, and hold for Siri all work. Not sure about Windows, I don’t have a combo jack on my desktop PC.
If this is so good then maybe their 8 strand Line K would be the perfect cable, albeit a bit expensive
The Line K looks like a nice cable.
@@IEMCableReviewswould you be able to review the line K next?
@cookie2843 I have a couple of reviews lined up already but I’ll see if I can get my hands on a Line K in the future.
Does the mic work without a splitter?
If you’re plugging into a TRRS jack like on a phone or an xbox controller, you do not need a splitter.
Can this fit into truthear zero red?
Yes
