Bang Switch I guess you missed the target... (hard to hit behind the wall) But at least your tracking system was working :D Hope you have more luck next time. -(just kidding)-
Juan Felipe Caro I was that f guy. Haha. And I appreciate that it is not on this particular list. This list is in the perfect spot for me. I've graduated from the toy grade quads with basic understanding of them. And I'm headed into a build. So having a "don't do this" list at this stage is good to see. Subscribed!
Heres another mistake, starting off in self leveling mode or worse.... altitude hold.... It really screws with peoples muscle memory and makes it hard to switch over afterwards. I did a little test and let my little brother (with absolutely flying experience og any kind) try out velocidrone in acro mode. Keep in mind he has never flown anything, real or simulated, in his entire life. I kid you not, he was going through hoops within an hour! He wasnt perfect, but he learned much more quickly than my friends who fly photography drones. Maybe hes just talented, who knows, but I thought it was interesting how much more quickly he picked it up. I suspect that its easier to build muscle memory from the ground up than it is to change existing muscle memory. Thats my theory anyways. BTW Great video as always!
I'm appreciating the safety emphasis on your vid, there really isn't enough safety related stuff, particularly in relation to props, on other channels. Thanks.
Great tips, got a drone for Christmas, glad i seen this tips video first, i opened the box and the props are already installed, i would never have thought of removing them before messing around and testing at my table, thanx again!!
Another tip, make sure you first fly in a big open area, grassy is best. If you try your quad in your back yard LOS you can quickly lose sight of it and set off a long search. These things are fast and can quickly disappear behind a house or tree. The grass will cushion your crashes.
I will have to remember these in a few years when I get a FPV quad. Still learning on my new to me, only crashed a ton of times by the last owner, Phantom 2.
Thanks man, total noob here, haven't flew my first acro drone yet but crashed my picture drone yesterday so I'm pushed to learn acro so that i have something to fly!
Check everything you can at home (without props). Orientation, motors lay out, chanels(receiver tab), how quad model in betaflight corresponds in your transmitter imputs.
Everything looks good I'd just like to say Armattan is an amazing vender with the best costumer service I have ever seen! Simply second to nun, & I have lived my whole life with the " you brake it you buy it rule! " LoL if you are going to be so nice as to let a friend fly your model drive your car truck or any other toy, let them know you brake it you buy it & if you can't afford it then don't ask LMFAO 🤣 good luck to every one and happy flying.
Super Info! Straight up Pro! I'd like to see a website review database that consolidates / catalogues all the drones quads, radios and related kit and ranks reviews them. Rc groups must have sth like that but a beginner can't have enough info. resources...
Thanks for all the great advice. I am going to build my first 210 quad soon and I wold like you help on what to buy. I will be using the Taranis Q X7 and Dominator V3 goggles. If you have a moment to send me some links on what to buy that would be great. No rush just when you have a moment. Best, Oscar
I just bought my first fpv drone...it's just a lil airhog $100 jobber...no assembly required...I figured I don't want to destroy a good one learning how to fly...but since the ground is full of snow I'm only able to practice hovering for now...butm...learn the basics I guess...I'm looking forward to doing some outside flight's
also a good idea if people want to fly drones and are new use a sub $20 one instead of your expensive one for your friend to learn on. It's how I got into the hobby of flying mini whoops. Things like the eachine e010s and stuff like that so they can learn how to control the throttle without an altitude hold to get the basics
Thanks for the video Drone Camps RC, I ordered my echinge wizzard 220 on Christmas eve and received it 6 weeks later. I was chomping at the bit. I had a Hubson that I was burning up the batteries with practice but could hardly wait to get my RTF quad. I got it with no manuals, (downloaded the FS-i6) but had no cables at all. I am still trying to connect to my Macpro with a cable for the flight simulator, both Liftoff and FPV racing. No luck with two cable so far. Have gone through three sets of props, cut antenna and transmitter wire. Would love to practice with my radio on the computer a bit. Got any suggestions? Dovetail
Hook up FC how it best suites you, then adjust in betaflight FC orentasion and make shure that quad model in betaflight rotates the same as in real life.
my personal favorite for first time builders if buying cheap motors online buy a extra motor and esc or two never know when one might be doa even if there not you will have an extra just in case
#11, i made this mistake, don't learn to fly fpv during winter if you live in an area that gets a lot of snow, it is very difficult to know speed and orientation with the white snow, especially over a frozen lake, in winter stick to line of sight.
Hey Justin great great video ,,I try to buy USA,but like you said china does have some awesome deals with some bad points ,,wait time and customer service,,gearbest is by far the better of the two! Thank you jay p
I been flying LOS on my drone, I finally have goggles but I'm kinda of apprehensive because of the "field of view" while wearing the goggles. What do you suggest to do to get use to flying with the goggles?
Question about goggles and glasses. Once we get a certain age (over40) some of us need assistance to see up close. Is it easier to go with box type or Fat Shark type? I know both may require some form of mod. I am leaning towards box type since I am a total noob and it's hard to drop $300+ on some FS. I've got a daughter in college. Thoughts? Maybe a future video?
Scott Walker I am in the same situation... i purchased an Eachine VR D2, hoping that it having adjustable magnification would be good for me. Not! Woefully inadequate. Researched on CZcams and saw there were mods that could help me. However, further research pointed me towards the Quanum V2 goggles that allow you to wear your glasses while using the goggles. And the price of the Quanum is reasonable.
Nice ring. Is that cobalt or tungsten? Buying from Banggood can be a bit of a lottery. Shipping often takes an eternity and even then sometimes your order simply does not arrive.
an alternative if you are too lazy for removing your props: put it in a box facing downwards and power it remotely with an emergency switch. In the box it can't do much. I have a transparent box and an emergency switch set up already. I put a heavy item on it so nothing can happen, except for the hardware getting destroyed of course. And an alternative for cheking the direction: teasy the motor with a piece of paper

What's that tiny frame with the antenna protection at the beginning of the video?
I agree with everything you mentioned, except that I'll never, ever buy from Gearbest again. I recieved a XK 130 mini racer that smoked when I first powered it on. After several (and I mean several) "emails" via their ticketing system, I finally received a $25 credit from them - not even close the to $80 I paid. I know that it only takes one bad solder joint for something like this to happen, but I expected much better customer service than what I got. Otherwise, great input for folks just starting out.
Justin, I soldered a receiver onto my leader 120 and it won't power up from USB now. De Soldered it and it still won't pwr up. Was so careful to solder each wire.. any ideas as to what it might be are most welcome ... It pwrd up at first then died. No idea why
I have a sky viper model 01603. How would i fix a stiff motor? Its the right rear and ive already tried to dissamble and fix it. I need help. Solutions?
love the channel!...do you know if switching the motors around after changing main frame from a crash on bugs3 will the motors not work?...that happen to me im wondering is there a sequence or an order they need to be in?
Hey brotha this was a very informational video. I just got into fpv and build my first one. When I tested it and first applied throttle the quad flipped and crashed. NOW I have double checked motor placement and prop placement both are correct. I just can't seem to figure it out. I have also calibrated the accelerometer and esc. Can you or anyone please help this newbie I'm stuck. Thank you
Have you triple checked motor placement, props placement and motor direction? It really sounds like that is the issue. The other thing could be the idle speed is wrong on a motor. Go through the entire setup procedure again in your software from start to finish to confirm everything. Especially check your props, sometimes even experienced people think they have the props on correctly but they weren't concentrating and got them wrong.
Thank you for the reply and I will do this all over again and triple check I all so noticed that my remote output was set to pwm instead of ppm thank you
Hi ya, please can you help me with this, i have the DYS Samguk Series Wu 2700KV motors is this eso (Racerstar StarF3S 30A BL_S 4 In 1 ESC 5V BEC w/ F3 Flight Controller AIO OSD BEC Current Sensor ) suitable and what battery do you suggeat, thanks in advance
#11 Don't fly your quad into the side of your house. Especially when your wife is the other side of the wall.
Bang Switch I guess you missed the target... (hard to hit behind the wall) But at least your tracking system was working :D
Hope you have more luck next time.
-(just kidding)-
thanks for the tip, albeit a bit post event......oops!
There needs to be more of these kinds of videos on the tubes. Soooo many people are getting into this and its important to be safe and wise.
Agreed. I have more. I'll do a part 2 when I can.
What about: rushing to the big leagues before learning with a small one. Getting one without propeller protection. Getting something too exotic
Subscribed!
Very true.

Makes sense..
Alex Crowder hah, my brother played for 5 minuets and then went back roblox bubble gum simulator.
Dude. Already learned the hard way on several of these. Thanks for reminding me...at least I haven't flown into my face yet!!
Never let your Bro's fly, ride or drive anything you own. p.s.carry spare motors
Grixes Sedraxis
Good point..👍
I live in Norway. Buing from USA ia out of the question, b/c postal costs! You guys are prizing your self out of the market!
Thanks for posting best retailers to buy from. Looked all over for a list of reputable dealers. This is the only one I've seen. Thanks again!
progressive RC is also safe
But how 'bout banggood?
I'm appreciating the safety emphasis on your vid, there really isn't enough safety related stuff, particularly in relation to props, on other channels. Thanks.
Great tips, got a drone for Christmas, glad i seen this tips video first, i opened the box and the props are already installed, i would never have thought of removing them before messing around and testing at my table, thanx again!!
If you fly the drone with the goggles for the first time .... remember don't panic.... I lost a drone just because I did so :(
Thank you for the help and for taking the time. Good advise that could save a emergency room visit.
U forgot never turn your quad on without antenna
Next episode 🤙🏻
Drone Camps RC hii how much for the bulky carbon fiber quad ?? Tq
What’s significant about that?
Zero Jay without an antenna the receiver will blown out and you will have to replace it
@@josevargasrd that only applies to transmitter not receiver
Another tip, make sure you first fly in a big open area, grassy is best. If you try your quad in your back yard LOS you can quickly lose sight of it and set off a long search. These things are fast and can quickly disappear behind a house or tree. The grass will cushion your crashes.

Thank God you gave my exact list with one exception! I get alot of smack talk from people who.... Use OTHER sites to buy from. Thanks for the info!
Great Video!! i Learned some Good Info From Watching! been flying 1 -1/2 years now....Your Videos have Helped a Lot!
Thanks, excellent contribution.
Thanks Justine all good stuff to know as a beginner myself
Awesome tips 👍👍
great tips I've followed them all justin!
thanks for all these tips. I'm a newbie and these can be very helpful to me. go on cool vids!
Thanks man, total noob here, haven't flew my first acro drone yet but crashed my picture drone yesterday so I'm pushed to learn acro so that i have something to fly!
man ! many thanks for this much needed, problem avoidance and instructive video. 😎👍 👍 !
Check everything you can at home (without props). Orientation, motors lay out, chanels(receiver tab), how quad model in betaflight corresponds in your transmitter imputs.
Thanks for the tips. Adding this to my Playlist for sure!
That little orange propped quad is cool
Good points. Thanks for your work putting another great vid together. Jeff
Sweeeettttt!!!! thank you for the mention. great video !!!
Dude...you taught me something today. Thank you.
I am about to start this journey and that was informative +1
i got this,my master. thanks so much and hope you have a great weekend :)
Another way for props are if you set the quad down facing the right way they turn into the inside
Everything looks good I'd just like to say Armattan is an amazing vender with the best costumer service I have ever seen! Thanks for the list in description !!
This is another great video . These are great things to know.
Thanks Robert
oh god failsafe yes. so much fail on failsafe. Great video!
Great advice to think about. Thanks
Great tips for beginners!
Thank you! Great advice.
Great info....what is that smaller X quad called? Looks pretty cool and might be a fun build.
Thank you
Very helpful. Thanks.
Super Info! Straight up Pro! I'd like to see a website review database that consolidates / catalogues all the drones quads, radios and related kit and ranks reviews them. Rc groups must have sth like that but a beginner can't have enough info. resources...
Is there a glossary site for all the new terms? Such as FPV, rtf, RC-thanks for the beginner tips.
Thanks for all the great advice. I am going to build my first 210 quad soon and I wold like you help on what to buy. I will be using the Taranis Q X7 and Dominator V3 goggles.

What is that black quad at the start dude link?
I'm building my first quad copter soon...should I be buying back up replacement parts for this?
Great tips!

Hi so where can I get more info about video makers? The videos looks very professional~
Thanks for the video Drone Camps RC, I ordered my echinge wizzard 220 on Christmas eve and received it 6 weeks later. I was chomping at the bit. Hi...what was that Black quad you pulled out in the beginning? The other one I recognized as the Eachine Chaser 88. :)
ok how about this, if you buy any brushless motors do they go in a certain order or random? when you install them
That last drone is epic
Hey Justin great great video ,,I try to buy USA,but like you said china does have some awesome deals with some bad points ,,wait time and customer service,,gearbest is by far the better of the two! Thank you jay p
Yw Jay! What are you flying these days?
A year later and it's still a great video
good advice bud
Great video
what about banggood
great tips.
I been flying LOS on my drone, I finally have goggles but I'm kinda of apprehensive because of the "field of view" while wearing the goggles. What do you suggest to do to get use to flying with the goggles?
very cool man!!
add this! keeping on-hand stock of replacement parts?!
great video.
Where did you get those stick ends on your taranis ??
Can I trust buying a eachine wizard from banggood
ZinT yes
PiroFlipRC has super fast shipping too
What's the name of the black quad in the beginning of the clip?
Sweet. Thanks.
Drone Camps RC, what is the cheapest, good quality transmitter off amazon I could use for drones; specifically Rise products?
Question about goggles and glasses. Once we get a certain age (over40) some of us need assistance to see up close. Is it easier to go with box type or Fat Shark type? "I've got a daughter in college. Thoughts? Maybe a future video"
I think he implies that he is PAYING for his daughter to be in collage. If $20K per year is going to fund that then he does not have $300 for googles
Nice ring. Is that cobalt or tungsten?
Buying from Banggood can be a bit of a lottery. Shipping often takes an eternity and even then sometimes your order simply does not arrive.
I did one today went to pick up my quad and hit the arm switch and got a cut thumb and fingers as a result lesson learned a costly one though
Ouch!
an alternative if you are too lazy for removing your props: put it in a box facing downwards and power it remotely with an emergency switch. In the box it can't do much. would you recommend getting a rtf quad at helipal?
question...where can i get that black drone you showed in the intro? That was pimpin!
Look up the Shuriken X1... One of my fav rtfs!
I agree with everything you mentioned, except that I'll never, ever buy from Gearbest again. I recieved a XK 130 mini racer that smoked when I first powered it on. Sucks. XK is usually ok. You must have got a bad one. Terrible
Where did you get the knobs on your transmitter ?
Gracias me an servido algunos puntos referidos!!!
Justin, I soldered a receiver onto my leader 120 and it won't power up from USB now. De Soldered it and it still won't pwr up. Was so careful to solder each wire.. any ideas as to what it might be are most welcome ... It pwrd up at first then died. No idea why

What are the props on the quad when talking about touching other people's quads?
Probably Racecraft
Thank you.
love the channel!...do you know if switching the motors around after changing main frame from a crash on bugs3 will the motors not work?...that happen to me im wondering is there a sequence or an order they need to be in?
As long as you make sure the motors are turning the right directions. Test with props off. Use tape as a flag on each motor
too late i already installed them, and they dont come on at all!...just the LED and their in sequence
Visited the websites, but the model shown here is not available from them?
Hey brotha this was a very informational video. I just got into fpv and build my first one. When I tested it and first applied throttle the quad flipped and crashed. Sounds like a motor is spinning the wrong direction
Drone Camps RC I check that and they look like they're spending the right way or do you have any other recommendations
Have you triple checked motor placement, props placement and motor direction? It really sounds like that is the issue. The other thing could be the idle speed is wrong on a motor.
