I really enjoy your videos on the highway in Pakistan with the huge mountains and your kazakstan video. I enjoy learning about strong cultures in remote areas like central asia. That would be cool if you go to a central asia country next.

    For years I yearn to travel to Georgia. It looks so unbelievably beautiful and still undiscovered. But I can't figure out one thing, why is Georgia so poor? It has everything to become wealthy and prosper... nature, mountains, sea, superior quality vine and food... so what is the problem then? If we look at economic indicators from 2019. (before pandemic) Georgia is struggling, with GDP just 17.48 billion USD,, GDP per capita 4.698 USD, and even with real consumer basket GDP per capita with purchasing power parity it is just 15.014 USD. Can someone please explain it to me? Greetings and love from a orthodox brother from Serbia.

      Hello 👋 Thank you for your comment 💖
      I am from Georgia and to be honest even georgians think about that a lot.We just have too many problems,we always had them(if you look at history you will understand better). 1)our government is not the best and we have bed relationship with Russian government (not with Russian people) 20% of Georgia is occupied by Russia.we had war and many people were forced to leave their own homes and move in other parts of georgia, even now there are people who are forced to live in terrible conditions due to they lost their homes.2) We have literally everything in our country (nature,water,food) but we don't have jobs due to we don't make our own things (Import is king in Georgia)
      Omg I hope you understand something I really tried 🥲 Sorry for my English.

    • @yudzin88
      @yudzin88 Před 2 lety +2

      @@mariamdemetradze5687 I understood everything perfectly dear Mariam. Well this just partially answered my question. So, it is clear that in the terms of resources Georgia is not lacking behind. I suspect that the problems are corruption and geopolitics and economics. Transition and war with Russia in 2008. and occupation of of South Ossetia and Abkhazia were serious problems. But if you look at Serbia we had terrible conditions too, breakup of Yugoslavia and civil war 1990-1995, world record hyperinflation in 1993, the whole NATO pact bombed us in 1999. Economic sanctions and blockade, Occupation of our Kosovo and Metohia almost million refugees from Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo. We also have bad import lobby. But still our economic indicators are much better comparing to Georgia it is simply unbelievable....
      I can see that Georgia lost more than a million people due to the population decline from 1990. to 2020. That is like 20% decline in just one generation... What is happening? Are young people leaving Georgia because unemployment? Are they delaying marriage or having less children because of uncertainty?
      Do you have Georgian people in diaspora, are they sending remittances? Almost half Serbian people are living abroad, mostly in the West, and they greatly help our economy by sending money to their families.
      What about foreign investments, are foreign corporations investing in Georgia? Is infrastructure bad? Are your towns and cities well connected with railroads and highways? I am sure you have a lot more to offer then cheap labor. I will be very glad if you answer these questions for me as well
      You Georgians have a lot of you should be proud of, not just nature and food. I read about St. elder Gabriel the Georgian, about father Seraphim who sings in Aramaic. Fascinating history, culture, unique architecture, language, and alphabet. Just know that you will always have a friend in Serbian people. We follow what is happening in Caucasus and we are sad if we see you struggle. If God wills it I will visit your country soon.

    • @mariamdemetradze5687
      @mariamdemetradze5687 Před 2 lety +2

      @@yudzin88 You know a lot about Georgia.I am super surprised.I will try to answer your questions.
      Yes we lost many people due to many reasons.Almos half population of georgians are emigrants, literally I haven't seen a full family in Georgia at least one member is emigrant.Mostly mothers:/ due to that children grow up without mothers love they often are depressed :( of course relationship with parents isn't good as well.I heard soo much sad stories about mothers who left their families (children, husband) in georgia and create new family in abroad. They stay there and of course don't come back. Young people try to stay in country but because we don't have enough jobs they are just forced to leave country and make some money.(often they stay in other countries like: Germany, Italy, France, Canada. Of course most of them never come back in Georgia) Nowadays most couples afraid to have many children,they even can't take care about themselves so child is too "expensive",there are also couples who simply don't want to have many children soo.Foreigner investors are mostly Russians (I am saying what I heard from elders) They invest in batumi or in Tbilisi other parts of Georgia is simply forgotten.Also we have problems about our behaviour,in Georgia people still can do things by their "friends" you really can't expect honesty and justice here.(Even now people protest in Gumati because of the Namaxvani dam.It will floor at least 2 villages and government even don't answers our questions.The police is against people as well)
      we really proud of our country and I am so glad that you like it too🥰 yes,we struggle a lot but honestly we are already used to it Georgians try to go through everything with humour,we smile even if we have bed times. We laugh about ourselves and our terrible condition.Idk what's wrong with us normal people would cry but we just too tired of it, that's why we smile.
      Language and Alphabet is another topic.It's just too beautiful , unique but grammar is so damnn hard even I staggle to learn it:/
      If I missed something or if you have any questions left you can ask.
      მადლობა მეგობარო. Thank you my friend.

    • @yudzin88
      @yudzin88 Před 2 lety +2

      @@mariamdemetradze5687 Well, I can see many similarities between Georgia and Serbia. Unfortunately not good ones. We also had and still have high emigration. Half of my childhood friends are now in Canada or Germany. But in our case whole families or men go abroad rather than woman alone. When our women goes abroad, mostly to study, their main goal is to find a foreign husband. Even I have cousins who are in a mixed marriages and their children know only English, they are clueless about Serbian country and culture.
      I am surprised that you say that mothers are divorcing their husbands. I thought that you Georgians are very traditional and conservative? Is that because of low standard, communism era or emancipation of women, what do you think? Your divorce rate is just 19%, and our is 26%, which is pretty low.
      Another similarity is centralization around big cities. I know that Batumi is on the Black sea. In Serbia everything is around Belgrade and Novi Sad. And other areas are neglected. But you forgot to answer me about infrastructure? In Serbia we are building highways and fast railroads 24/7. That is very important because if you live in a neglected area but you are well connected you can travel very fast to the centers like Tbilisi or Batumi, but if your roads are crappy you must travel much longer and drivers will drive much crazier.
      Ohhh, and that is the big one: "Also we have problems about our behavior, in Georgia people still can do things by their "friends". That is our cancer too. Connections and nepotism. Especially in administration, some things you just can not do without bribery, I mean you can, but you are going to wait for years (like cadastre registration or operation in a public hospital). And about getting a job, you can find it much more easier if you join the ruling party. And party members are always ahead in the concusses. Our police serves just our government too. So we also demonstrate quite often. Near Valjevo one dam is flooding XII church, people are protesting, but no one cares. Damn we are truly similar. hahaha
      We are quite different in the smiling part. We have pretty dark humor, and our main motivation to live for another day is our "INAT", that is like defiance or spite to prove others wrong. That is why we are good in sports. Our greatest problem is the former glory and nostalgia for former Yugoslavia.
      Also I am interested in Georgian relationship with Armenia, You share so much similarities? Can you explain it to me why you have problems with Armenians. Some Armenians told me it is about churches, and Azerbaijan support? I would like to hear Georgian side of the story?
      And yes your alphabet looks quite difficult to master. In Serbia we are use Cyrillic, similar to Russian, and Latin alphabet. It is sad that these foreign vloggers do not study your culture. They run through Georgia like through amusement park and they understand nothing. If I were in their place, I would explore every stone of your land in detail. I am so grateful that you are willing to spend your time to answer me in great detail. Never before I had the opportunity to exchange thoughts with a true Georgian. If you have any questions about anything feel free to ask. Много ти хвала! Thank you very much. 💖
