Mr magic man I disagree. If that was the intended effect, there would have to be something hinted at before he was killed off. Say he had a son and we didn't know the full details. We were just about to find something out about this son when suddenly, he overdoses, and he dies. It would have been more effective if that it was closer to that in my opinion.
Surgé Land TBH this scene was written poorly. I think it would have been better to have Ryan panic and call Ali instead of preparing to dial 9/11 and then calling Ali instead. However I'm not surprised as the writing has certainly gone downhill. Just glad Oates took the writers from Emmerdale, so their writing has improved.

I hated what that Producer did to Corrie, the stupid serial killer storyline that dragged on for ever. All this murder, kidnapping and jailing people, it just needs to stop and get back to what Corrie originally was suppose to be about.
Oh they had this Serial Killer last year and into this year who married Eileen and was murdering various people on the street, it dragged on for ever and ever, and just when you thought he was dead, they brought him back and dragged it out some more. Corrie seems to rely on sensational storylines to get viewers now and those stories always include violence and murder. Corrie is no longer a show about your ordinary Northern folk and their day to day lives, it's about violence, murder and sensationalism.
That really is a matter of opinion. I personally do not want to watch people being murdered every five minutes or drugged, raped or kidnapped, that is not the type of show Corrie was suppose to be, a once great show has been ruined by far fetched sensational storylines.
Somebody dying on Coronation Street? That's unusual. The show is so far fetched now, the amount of death on just one street, it's nearly every week. Coronation Street is sadly no longer what it was originally. Tony Warren must be turning in his grave.
I think Ryan should’ve just told Ronan the truth at least or called an Ambulance to make it so Cormac went back to Jail. Ryan’s stupid here and you should never get involved with Drugs.
He panicked because he didn’t want to send Cormac back to Prison so I suppose really, he gave him the easy way out but he was right to call Ali though. Personally, if I was Ali I’d have understood and been more than happy to do what Michelle said.
