When Roy says I love you as Hayley swallows the drink, he sounds so lost and afraid...I loved this couple, they were compassionate and decent. They were devoted to each other, so sad :(
I look at it like this; If a person is suffering a degenerative, wasting, terminal illness that will diminish their quality of life to the extent that they are in constant suffering agony, or they will lose cognitive functions and the ability to care for themselves or perform the most basic tasks (feeding themselves, washing, or even speaking/communicating, etc.) and will require round the clock medical care than they have every right to choose when they are ready to stop. No one should be obligated to suffer, or be forced to resign themselves to an illness that will rob them of their mind or body, everyone should be allowed to die with dignity.
I nursed my mother through bone marrow cancer (multiple myeloma) . It was so sad at the end. she hung on in coma . i knew there was no hope of her being cured . Her oncologist told her, my Dad and I moms cancer was terminal and made it crystal clear mom wouldn't survive. I support the right of a terminally ill person to choose to end their life . My mom asked me what euthanasia is . How would you answer . Looking after her was no inconvenience to me .
Poor Roy even though he wanted to stop her,he granted her wishes and let her die, with him by her side how she would have wanted it and not in a hospital bed surrounded by machinery 💔💔💖💖
corrie dealt with the whole storyline so well it was years later and my mum died from Pancreatic cancer, diagnosed and gone within a month. its a vicious brutal cancer that takes no prisoners, only kills swiftly and painfully. haulers death was one of the saddest ive seen on TV and acted so well. Well done and thankyou to corrie! rip mama 21.09.47 to 29.08. 17
this scene was so heartbreaking but amazingly done :) she was one of the most lovable characters on corronation street and i love her and roy together, i hate that it had to end :( i can't even talk about this scene without crying :'(
Sitting down on my bed watching this always makes a tear come to my eye Edit:Hayley was such a good person, she did not want to live her life, she was so brave
Much respect to the writers for handling this story with such care. Hoped this episode would make an impact and maybe make our goverment could talk more on the "right to die" argument.
Honestly I think Hayley was an inspiration to Corination Street- I have had experience with cancer, and my family member suffering with it would never had had the courage to do this. RIP Hayley x
Every time I watch this I cry both actors are amazing especially with that lovely music when Hayley says to Roy I love you always have and I always will xxx
Poor Roy this is so heartbreaking to watch Julie Hesmondagh Played the role sensitivly and with great Skill david Neilson and Julie were so good in this scene
I'm in Australia and we've only just seen Peter and Carla get married. This has made me cry now, can't imagine what I'm going to be like now. So upsetting. Poor Roy.
Omg I’ve loved Corrie my whole life but I’ve never ever watched it since this. I cried like I’ve never cried before. My Mother died from Pancreatic cancer and I was with her. Honestly this brought me back. I was crying for two things it was awful. RIP Hayley and mum xx
The song played when Hayley cropper took her own life was the lark ascending by Vaughan Williams and could’ve played fugees killing me softly as I played it towards that ad break before part two as it was so depressing 😭
This happened in a movie I watched recently on Netflix called paddleton. A man had to take a drink and he would die. He done this instead of lying in a hospital bed. It was an emotional movie
Hayley was such a Harmless innocent person but what I admire her most is how she went out so damn bravely. Committing suicide just so it wouldnt be the Cancer that killed her.
@@killianmmmoore I agree. I believe people should have the right to choose. Yes, it is still extremely saddening but at least this way she was able to take control over how she wanted to die, next to the man she loves, no pain or suffering. Just a beautiful last moment of happiness together. I'd personally much rather have that than to be kept alive, suffering in pain purely for the sake of it.
Roy - "Please don't be afraid"
Wow that was so emotional.
my mom passed away today

Yeh not

“I’m so sorry I have to go.”
“I love you”

This isn't euthanasia it's a person exercising their right to die. Euthanasia is when someone else does it.
