I think it would be more fitting with Daniel's character to leave Adam. Anyway, Phelan... need I say more? He's the embodiement of all the biggest problems with the show at the moment.
Just imagine everybody got their hopes up that Phelan would finally get his comeuppance in 2018, and Kate Oates announced that Connor McIntyre has signed a new three year deal...
I wouldn't be surprised either, but I think 2018 will be the year. When Corrie air them episodes after Britain's got Talent in May/June, I predict them to be the darker episodes with Pat Phelan close or ultimately crumbling (confessing to everything), getting caught or being murdered (leading to a "who killed Pat Phelan storyline" leading all the way to next Christmas).
