“I Don’t Respect Ten Hag”: Ten Hag Has NOT Disrespected RONALDO (Numbers Don’t Lie)

  • Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan has set the football world alight, saying that he doesn’t have respect for Ten Hag because Ten Hag apparently doesn’t have respect for Ronaldo. As far as Ten Hag’s decisions go, does Ronaldo have the right to feel this way, or do the numbers justify Ten Hag’s decisions regarding Ronaldo’s playing time? Unfortunately for the Portuguese legend, his numbers don’t do him any favours…

It's not unreasonable that a coach who has a very specific style of play would not start a player who didn't do a preseason preparation with the team. On top of that, poor performances and bad public behavior would mean not even bench opportunities for any other player in the world.

Terrible take from Adrain, you have always been a Messi fan and a Ronaldo hater. Messi had the worst season of his career last season and he still played in the team, whenever he was taken off early, Messi would throw a fit. We barely heard any videos criticizing Messi behavior. Now Ronaldo had some personal issues to start the season, and he isn't firing goals in like last season so now it's okay to not give him playing time. The coach promise him he was part of the plan, then after the first two games realize that Ronaldo can't be a presser in his system so therefore he bench Ronaldo instead of having another sit down, and being honest with him. He could have had the club released him before the deadline but he cowarded and went against what he promised Ronaldo. Honestly, as a United fan, I'm okay with Ronaldo leaving and not playing because we only stand a chance with a pressing game, like against Spurs. But also the manager and entire club is also at fault for not communicating with Ronaldo, when he is a GOAT, they have made so much money off him coming back, and that's all they care about. So, Adrian, and most of yall are nothing but haters.

Sorry, im a huge fan of Ronaldo and because of him I got to know football and be a supporter of Manchester United. I totally agreed on him regarding United Infrastructure and that's on the owners. However, so far I have never seen ETH disrespected him at anyway. He needed time off for his unfortunate passing of his daughter, I think the club did that. During Preseason he is totally no where to be found because of personal issues, the boss approved. Fabrizio Romano said his agent is actively searching for him a new club since the beginning of Preseason. From athletico Madrid to Chelsea to Napoli and even sporting and they all dont want him. Only ETH said he is our striker and our player. He disrespected the club by leaving early not once but twice. He was named Captain during Aston Villa but chose not to speak to press because of the defeat. How is he even a black sheep? He is woefully underperforming this season and the manager has to make huge decision whether to play him or not it is 90 mins game. He cant risk dropping points knowing Ronaldo is under performing, every min ronaldo is on the pitch is an opportunity cost to another player who can make a difference. Tell me how ETH disrespected him?
Tell me how is he even force out of the Club? He knows we are not in Champion League. We all knows he wants to play champion league football. His agent is actively fly around the globe to seek for alternatives and yet every interview ETH still said he wants him and he is part of his plans. Alot of things didnt add up.

This is Ronaldo screaming to everyone that he doesn’t care about his team or teammates, only himself. Nice job killing his legacy in the Premier League

Unfortunately the same ruthless mentality that took him to unimagined heights, that prioritizes his self image amd belief, is what's hindering him now. He's at am age where the mind won't be able to control the body like it used to. Je was already long past it, it's just that his mind was unbelievable and dragged his body along with. But father time gets everyone in the end. CR7 needs to adapt to being a supersub and retrain his body to go all out and clinical during the 10-15 minutes he's going to get towards the end of normal time. If he can get back on the scoring charts and help United back to UCL, that'd be a story most players will settle for. Would he be able to convince himself of that though?

However if you look at the numbers he's still the main creator and while his assists are (still among the top in the league) lower, he tops key passes and chances created. The only thing he's lacking are goals, but the man is getting older as well.

1-You can say Ronaldo has played 16 games, when he played at least 7 of those with less than 20m...less than 20minutes. And is counted as an appearance..
2- Ronaldo shot rate is higher than Rashford and a lot of team members, simply because Ronaldo shoots from difficult positions, and for example when Bruno centers the ball and it has no where to go or is no where near the net, Ronaldo still attempts to make it and is counted as a chance created .....
3-To say Ronaldo has more chances than Rashford is "stupidity" I'm sorry, but I think you should watch the games more, like I said, Ronaldo sometimes hits the ball from difficult positions (where he has no chance of goal) and is counted as (shots on target)
Rashford in the other hand(gets 9 clear chances against Tottenham) something Ronaldo hasn't been given at all(not even close)
3-TenHag knew that making him warm-up for 70 minutes and the ask him to come in for 2 was a big big mistake.......is ridiculous, you don't do that unless you're trying to prove a point.......
And I'm saying this because he worked with Pep Guardiola at Bayern and I saw pep do that to Ribery and Muller making the warm up for 80 minutes and then asking them to come on for 3 minutes.......after that Pep and TenHag were fired.....why? Because is not okay to do that, at least not to players of that status. Don't forget that pep did it to Yaya, at City and at BERCELONA, he did it to Aguero, and he did it to Eto, Deco, Ronaldinho.........This is not a coincidence.......TenHag, Arteta, all follow the same pattern of Guardiola
"get there and show who's boss to take over the locker room"
It backfired when Pep and TenHag did it to Ribery and was axed for that, and Now TenHag has to prove that he did the right move with Ronaldo.

Even if the tragedy that he experienced has also impacted his play the manager still has to put out the eleven that he thinks gives him the best chance to win. Right now that rarely includes Ronaldo. He can't seem to finish and his other contributions are lacking.
Unfortunately, the petulance and selfishness that we accepted in Ronaldo when he was scoring for fun, are unacceptable now.

@Adrian, I love your video, however I would've preferred it coming out after the 90 minute interview coming out.
that way we get Ronaldo's perspective.
The one thing nobody truly knows is the behind the scenes. And this is something we need to take into account.
I think you need to take into account for the games he started: 6 for The europa league.
For the prem he started following games: Brentford 4-0 defeat (2nd game of the season, where the defense was terrible, Lisandro Martinez even got subbed of at halftime) Arguably contender for player of the season for United.
Then he got 4 sub appearances of 4 minutes, 2* 22 minutes and 32 minutes . Everton he got subbed on early due to Martial getting injured, where he got his first goal. Against Newcastle, although he didn't score Sancho was terrible that game and got 90 minutes.
After that came the game against Spurs, where I feel ETH made the mistake by letting Ronaldo to warm up around the 50th minute to only let him come on the last 5 minutes of the game. I feel like you don't let a player of his stature warm up 30+ minutes like a youngster of 18 years old. This is in my perspective a mistake made by ETH. He should've communicated to Ronaldo at halftime at least when he comes on, and even during the game he could've said something instead of letting him warm up that much time.
Against Aston Villa he was captain and they lost, the first 2 goals AV scored were clear defensive mistakes which he gets blamed for. "They play worse when he plays" I do agree he isn't the same player.
However I think that this interview is a blessing for Man Utd in the long run. Ronaldo will get a new club in January, Utd need a new minmal 20-25 goals a season player making them spend big on a new nr9. (They will go for Gakpo, although I don't think he will be enough)

Seriously? player's duty as they’re paid by the club is to play when the coach asks him to play, when and for how long it is the coach's right to decided not the player. Ten haag has given Ronaldo many opportunities to play even gave Ronaldo a captain band but just admit that Ronaldo are indeed getting slow and old, Ronaldo are no longer a mainstay for the team, instead you are a burden for the team as MU could performs way better games and result without Ronaldo this season.
And don’t forget football is a team game, collective effort not an individual, when he makes it seem as if everything in just about him, he forgets that he won't be able to win any Ballon d'Or award if there's no player mate gave him assist so he could score his goals or there is a goalkeeper who is desperately guarding the goal so that his team could win the game. No sportmaship at all for the game, it’s just an individual brand image he took care of. he didn't set a good example for young players when he said he disrespected the coach as every player should respect their coach. He set no example and clear he is no longer football legend and even for MU, he only scores 145 goals in 345 macthes, way less in term of goals productivity compare with Wayne Rooney who scores 253 in 559 macthes, Ryan Giggs 168 goals, Paul Scholes 155 goals and Ruud van Nistelrooy who scores 150 goals in 219 macthes for Manchester United and yet none of them have said disrespect their coach. IDK its always easier to side with a person than a logo in short. maybe if the owners werent shite or if Ferguson was still managing the team the attitude would be different because people could put a person (that they care about) on the other-side of this argument. IDK

Hard to believe that Ronaldo does not know that Rangnick is - in addition to a manager that made recent history in football - a coach, actually he start coaching in 1983, before Ronaldo was born. Why he said such a stupid thing? Is he that ignorant? Also, if you come back - as you said - to M Unt for pure love, well show it. Be a team player, help the youngsters, move yourself aside if that's the best for the team, help the organization in getting better. It looks like Ronaldo has a massive issue in accepting that maybe he can't compete anymore at the highest level isn't?

Why is ten Hag unfair? The coach is the boss. He can play who he wants and how he wants.
Ronaldo has an ego. Ronaldo thinks he is untouchable. He still thinks he can play like he is in his twenties. Ronaldo doesn’t fit the tactics of pressing and running game.
If Ronaldo was playing under Pep or Mourinho right now. They would drop him too.

CR7 was always a diva and now that he’s not playing and complaining, it’s more apparent. Got a feeling this drama will motivate him in the WC.

Clearly anyone who isn't a ''yes man'' or criticises his petulant, attention-hogging, entitled and downright childish behaviour is disrespectful to him. Smart man I'll give him that, he adds the Glazers situation to allow his whole interview go down better.

If someone is a yes man to the club and the bald fraud manager suddenly he is the bad guy. Some people will hate Ronaldo no matter what he does.

Top video Adrian. I think after this interview any doubts about his personality and egocentrism have been thoroughly disproven, the stuff about Rooney and Rangnick was just mean.

I agreed with most of what was said but I do think that the analysis about the amount of goals CR7 scored last season was a bit flawed in that last season he did only scored 24 across all comps, which by itself isn't an elite number, but with the context of the whole team only scoring 70 goals across all competitions it's quite high considering it's close to 35% of an entire teams total.

The team's longevity and progressiveness must always be above one player's persona. Football is a team game, not a solo match.

Isn’t Sir Alex also not a coach? He is the manager. So what is Ronaldo talking about against Ralf Ragnik ?

It should definitely be a meritocracy. Ultimately, if the results don't come, the manager will get sacked, so they need to do whats is for the best interests of the team. I do think there can be sentimentality with legendary footballers that perhaps you don't get with teams. Down with the super league though. Iv loved Juve since 1998 and it breaks my heart that they are still dragging the corpse of the super league along!

The Super League is a good idea but i don't think teams staying in the league despite their performance was a fact. It may have been rough draft and an initial disposition just for sponsors but it would not have stood in the final format. People shot it down when it was still in concept phase. Like a concept car, the final production model is never the same
