    I bought a brand new Nissan Versa back in 2007. The first time I tried to open the hood the latch cable broke. Then the hubcap was crooked so I tried to take it off to fix it and it broke. I once drove from Texas to Arizona in it and it was the most uncomfortable car I have drive. The seats were terrible and the wind was blowing it all over the road even though it was small.
    I got rid of it within 6 months and bought a Camry that we put 300k miles on. We only ever replaced the steering rack after 200k miles on the Camry. We sold it to a family member that is still driving it.

We leased since they had a good lease program and we got a good deal, and we don't plan to keep it for more than a few years. I suggest you get rid of yours in a few years as well before the problems start. These cars are great bang for the buck while they're new, but they're not built like a Toyota.

    Hyundai/ Kia cars have famously over inflated tires from factory. As high as 45 to 50 psi. Salesman actually carry tire pressure gauges if customers complain of a hard ride they lower the pressure. Also, add weight to trunk with full size spare tire and then they ride better.

    Most of these are cars you hope are stepping stones to a better car someday. The manufacturers probably design them to make you aspire to one of their more expensive models. The Infiniti owners' disappointment is that they spent Audi/BMW/Mercedes money on a car that doesn’t measure up to those levels.

You get one shot with a consumer. Automakers need to really step up the build quality on cheaper models. Especially us younger folks have very few prospects of moving up the model range with how poorly the economy is doing and how unaffordable everything is. All my money will be absorbed into housing. Not a car.

    The only problem with the kicks and the Nissan Sentra is that the seats aren't as wide as some other cars but I really do like the kicks if they had a 1500.00 price increase for an all-wheel drive version of the kicks I think it would be an awesome vehicle the interior is very well made and I would know because I've driven it and I've driven a lot of crappy cars

  • @CJDiecast
    @CJDiecast Před měsícem

    I'm shocked the Forte was on this list. My best friend got a '23 Forte LXS last summer and absolutely loves it. And so do I. For a $21K compact sedan, it's got a lot of great attributes. I totally disagree on all of the low points. The ride is not bad, it's very comfortable around town and on long drives, probably in part because of the small 16" wheels and cushy sidewall. There's very little road noise at all also in part because of the small tires with plenty of sidewall. You can comfortably have a conversation with each other at normal speaking volumes without having to shout because of little road noise. The seats are a little firm, I will say, but nothing that's completely unbearable. It's good enough for a long distance trip. Since they're cloth, they have better padding than the leather would. I think the fit and fish is comparable to certain luxury cars. Everything is solidly put together, no rattles, and the textures are mostly soft-touch, even on the base trim. The lower door panels and dash are about the only parts you can tell where costs were cut but that's to be expected out of an entry level compact sedan. It's a very good, solid little car that I would much rather have over a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic.

      No amount of warranty will prevent the car from having nagging unfixable issues that the dealer either can't replicate or says is "normal." Not to mention the annoyance of having to constantly bring it in instead of driving and enjoying the car you're paying for. The VW's drive really well but we just recently passed on one because of the poor reliability ratings.

    What is surprising so much of these issues should be apparent from a test drive; confusing controls, poor seat comfort, ride, etc. As you noted, one thing to keep in mind are people who pay more for a car (e.g. C class) will have higher expectations of their car; e.g. you cant compare 4.5 star takeaway shop to a 4 star rated expensive restaurant. Reliability should be assessed at the 3, 5 year and beyond mark

    • @MikeKayK
      @MikeKayK Před měsícem

      A 5-10 minute test drive barely scratches the surface of what it's like to live with a car and take it on longer trips. As for your 2nd point...I'm not sure I can agree, since almost all the cars on the list were on the cheaper side, and even the Benz was a cheaper Benz. So the more expensive cars actually deliver better customer satisfaction despite the owners having higher expectations.

    I WENT TO MY CAR REPAIR SHOP DOWN THE STREET AWHILE AGO, I SAW 4 HUGE TRANSMISSIONS BRAND NEW ON THE FLOOR,
    I ASKED THEM WHAT ARE THOSE? THEY SAID NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSIONS, 4 CARS WERE OUTSIDE THE SHOP WAITING FOR THE TRANS THEY JUST GOT IN, THEY SAID THEY WERE THE WORST TRANS MADE. DOESN'T SURPRISE ME AT ALL. NEVER BUY A NISSAN SENTRA OR ALTIMA.

    I liked my QX50 bit fuel economy wasn’t great. I don’t buy another one because it wasn’t really refreshed since my early 2019 model. I wound up getting a Grand Cherokee Summit 4XE that I love.

    That Mercedes C Class front end looks like a Buick. I wouldn’t be satisfied with that for a Mercedes price tag either.

    The majority of those were entry-level, cheap cars. I would like to suggest that you do a similar format in the future for cars starting in the $30ks. Great show as always..

    I think there’s a theme. Nissan and VW are brands people go into with high expectations only to be disappointed. Nissan buyers think they’re getting a Toyota or Honda for cheaper only to be disappointed. VW buyers think they’re getting an Audi or BMW on a budget only to learn it isn’t either.

    I was given a rental Altima last year, I believe it was a 2021 or 2022 model. Tons of road noise and dangerous to drive in the rain. Hit a small puddle and the car would swerve.

    Funny how all the least satisfying vehicles are all foreign brands! My last brand new vehicles were a '96 Dodge Ram 5.9 & '98 LS1 Trans Am & I have been very satisfied with both ever since with virtually no issues & recommend everyone buy one of them ✌💖☮

    This is pretty weird, I own an Infiniti and my owns a Kia and we both love them. Granted they are both the top of the models and trim lines for the manufacturers so that must make a big difference I guess.

    The noisiest, most crappy car I have ever driven was a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox I rented when my Jeep was being serviced. Thankfully, I only had the car for half a day an fifty-five miles.
