Nice review, Dennys! Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Denny, you are awesome! Thank you so much for your detailed reviews and testing.
Mine just arrived. This video helps in anticipating speed issues.
this is a nice deep dive into the printer. Coming from the anycubic photon i've been having a great time with the mighty 8k so far. It's noticably faster, easier to access the printer, the network feature works well!
Putting in the work! Great info. Wish I had an excuse to get one
Thanks, Dennys! The Mighty looks amazing already. So glad I pre-ordered! I didn't see any oddities with your torture test.
Nice!!!
This is the most complete review I've seen on the mighty 8k so far, I've subbed and liked 👍. Keep up the quality content, love to see future reviews on 8k resins down the line.
Thank you
agreed. great tests that i usually don't see on other reviews
Awesome video as always Dennys, keep up the great work! I have two of these on pre-order, can't wait to get them!
Thank you
excellent as usual ! thanks big fella !
Thank you for the very thorough review in it's current state.
Mine isn't coming till September, keep putting out content like this and I'll have it dialed in the first day it arrives.
Thank you
i cant wait to get mine. hope they ship soon
Looks like it's going to be a great printer. I'm glad I pre-ordered!
Amen!
Great content. Do you mind making video about post printing process (cleaning, curing etc), your prints look incredible! Thanks.
Looks good, I’m still waiting on my 8k mini that was ordered, in October last year…
👍 GREAT videos 👍🤝
Nice! Well done
Thank you
Ayyyy. Im so jealous. I want new printers!
😆
This has got to be one of the best reviews I’ve watched. I also watched your wash/cure/ dry review, which was extremely helpful. I’ve been looking at purchasing the wash and cure set up, and I think I’m going to get it now. Also I’m very curious where you got the files for the hand gun you used in that video? Is that from a video game? If so which one I didn’t recognize it. I wish I could find files like that for destiny 2 weapons. Most I’ve found are very poor print quality. Keep up the great work? Looking forward to more great vids! Have a great day!
The file from cgtrader
Called konstantine revolver
Finally!
uuuuhhh... i have been going back and forth between this and the Elegoon saturn 2 8k. if you had to choose one, what would it be? Thanks Dennys.
Looking pretty great! I got a little bit worried I made a mistake when they announced the Saturn 2 at the end of preorders, as I love my Mars 3 but it seems I made a good choice. Can't wait to get mine!
I do curious about saturn 2 8k
LOL
@@wangdennys The print results from it look great as other content creators are posting their videos today. Can't wait to see your printing results video! Hope they are turning out just as good.
Definitely will!
Already print some and check the details, lol
Saturn 2 has a patent for uniform light on the build plate. That may make the biggest difference. Wish they would have released their pre-orders earlier to contrast before I made my decision :(
@@mugetzu I agree, wished they would've launched around the same time. I think we'll get a great printer regardless. The Saturn 2 may be cheaper but the Mighty 8k has....
All metal body
Built in camera
Network connectivity
Better user interface
The Saturn 2 looks great but I can't wait to see some real print results from the Mighty 8k.
Nice video. Wifi connectivity is nice and brings resin printer closer to FDM usability. One question - how do you set up a "dry run"? Of course no resin (and/or vat) but can you stop the light from engaging? If so, how? Cheers.
Yes, no vat and build plate.
But light still engaging, u just cover the screen with paper
Might you have a video on max quality settings for the mini 8k/make one for the mighty 8k? Print time not being a factor just best print quality? Another banger always so through in your vids. Excited for more from this printer and sad i didnt get to order one yet.
I am working on print comparison.
Ripped the camera out of my Mighty 8k on day 2, heater put in it's place. Image quality of the camera was kinda crappy and never pointing where you needed it.
Sup Denny love all your videos it made 3D printing so easy, I just got a mono x and was hoping u can share your settings for the mono x for lychee thanks
unfortunately i already sold my mono x and i only use photon workshop for anycubic printer. i would suggest you watch my super easy resin calibration video to dial in your exposure
@@wangdennys already on it thanks and keep the videos coming
Good review , professional aproach , is it true that when calibrating the z axis it is better to use two A4 papers insted of one for this printer ?
So the thing is it doesn't have to be 2 or 3 or 4.
It all depends on your hands.
Some user has good success with 2 papers, some with 5 papers.
So you might wanna experiement on your approach of how many papers you want to use.
Very thanks for this Video. TOP 👍🤝🙏
I see new video from dennys, I hit like!
will you get the elegoo saturn 2 8k too???
Unfortunately i tried contact elegoo and they cannot ship to my country yet, because no local reseller here.
Hey dennys, thanks for the video. One question: Is the camera detachable?
It seems you can detach it.
But i havent really tinker with the camera.
can you please tell the weight and demm of the package please
About Lychee Slicer, it's only the preview itself. Next update of Lychee Slicer will have a fix, we got the information only few days ago about the thumbnail size change. (I'm from the team). We still don't have the printer at the office, then it would have been difficult for us to notice the problem :)
Thank you for the info.
I will be glad to help with further testing.
Would like to know your thoughts of this compared to the Elegoo Saturn 2 8K?
If you had to choose between the two which would you go? I can't decide at the moment.
I would say print quality is the same.
Mighty 8k win only with famcy camera and new ui touchscreen and you can adjust exposure directly on the printer.
Do you need the extra feature on mighty 8k?
@@wangdennys the camera and wifi and big draw cards for me. I was so focused on print quality forgot about the other features. Thank you.
How do you like lychee slicer now? Is it any good compared to using UVtools and Prusaslicer?
I use chitu most of the time
And only use lychee when cust request presupported file.
So far I’m liking the mighty, but it not playing well with lychee is a little disheartening, excited to see the print comparisons, I’ll be coming from a 76um printer so it’ll likely blow my mind.
is the tsmc issue a software fix or is it just gonna be something that just needs to be turned off?
76um to 28um
Gonna be epic!
Yep firmware update should fix it.
Hi,
Has the mighty 8k started shipping? As far as I knew I would be expecting mine mid August.
it is a test unit.
It seems surprisingly slow comparing to even mid-size printers like saturn. Might the pause issue be fixed by firmware update or is it hardware thing? Did you contact Phrozen regarding this case?
Yes phrozen team have watched my video.
And it only mechanical timing, easy to fix by firmware update.
And fyi i never print fast. My average print setting is 1hour for 1cm tall object.
I have faster print setting. But i just dont like fast print.
And keep in mind the setting is for 0.02mm layer height.
The usual 0.05mm layer height that most people use only takes 2++ hours to print the same object in the video.
@@wangdennys Thx for replying! Yes, I am aware of the layer height, considering this and layer count I was comparing times to my printers. Maybe you can share print times for your stability test for other layer heights (0.04 / 0.05) ? Speed (not compromising quality) is important factor for me when printing commissions and now got doubts if ordering $850 Mighty was justified comparing to $500 Saturn 2.
@@fafelnet i will show several layer height and print time on next video ok.
I have jewellry workshop iwork alone there . I have many experienses about casting Then let me know if you need something.i bye a sonikmini 8k ,you learn me almost everything about that . I realy realy realy Appreciate you .
I need a Lamborghini
LOL
@@wangdennys % you will have 100%
I have made a pre order on the mighty 8K, will be ani e upgrade over the mono x. Though one thing that annoys the F out of me, why are they still using plastik knobs that will overtime turn in to sticky knobs. I'd pay those 5 bucks to get metal knobs.
Really?
All my plastic knobs still fine after all these years.
@@wangdennys Perhaps the quality of Phrozen is much higher than Anycubic, I hoep thats the case. I ahev the first monox, it was the first affordble medium size printer on th emarked at the time, and it kind shows to be honest. Melty knobs and actylic lid with stress crack.
@@sprocket5526 i mean, i have anycubic printer too. But never experience such sticky knob.
Great information! Thanks. Are you in Indonesia?
Yes
@@wangdennys I guessed because you said there was no local agent for Elegoo and because I studied Bahasa in school. XD
@@mogadeet6857 touche 🤣🤣🤣
@@wangdennys Selamat Pagi!
I dont recommend the printer right now, until they fix several problems. Mine also comes with screw, and vat broken. But the panel freezes all the time, and have issues with chitu and specially lychee. The resin 8k also seems to have issues and make holes in the top of all minis. For me a complete failure.
I wonder how it compares to my photon x?
Photon x? Do you mean mono x with 50um xy resolution and not working antialiasing.
Mighty 8k has 28um resolution.
So definitely mighty 8k is better in details and antialiasing.
@@wangdennys antialiasing is working just fine and has been for over a year, maybe you're just out of touch?
czcams.com/video/kaJAx_JmiD0/video.html
So the resolution alone is worth the huge price difference in your oppinion?
Then I'll wait for photon ultra x...
@@predragbalorda no it's not.
That video clearly printed the object at different angle to hide the voxel.
There are hundreds of monox user in fb group that can confirm the aa doesnt work at all.
I have been testing the aa like crazy, even the photon mono 4k aa doesnt work.
You can check my video mighty 4k vs monox video which is already at newer firmware compare to the video you share.
Photon ultra xy resolution is only 80um and i can see in several facebook group the print result on mono x is much better compare to ultra.
Is it worth it or not, it depends. Do you need to print very high detail object or not, or you need aa or not.
In my field of work i need the details and aa, so imo it worth the price.
Is this good for jewelry?
Yes it is
