god bless his soul
rest in heaven 🙏❤️
last breath ever haha
Ooh joke
i watched this 5 times while holding my breath 💀💀 surprisingly im still alive
well done 👏👏😁😁
how
Fake
3 MINUTES WHAT
Actually this is possible bc the average human body can hold there breath up to 3 mins
AFTER I DID THIS A COUPLE TIME I HELD MY BREATH UNDERWATER FOR 8 MINUTES THANKS MAN
uahhaha yeah
so not ever use this technique UNDERWATER!
@@gertleroyi guess the reason not to use this underwater is that you can get a little dizzy afterwards? I think someone that is able to hold their breath for 8 minutes knows some tecniques before seeing this video😂😂
Bullshit.
@@migu1412Maybe the fact that this technique involves breathing? How are you gonna do that underwater?
I like the 20 seconds 5 pause 20 seconds and 15 seconds 😁😁 good recovery of my lungs
yep that's indeed a good recovery exercise! 🙏
Could you explain this more ?
Learn much more here Breathwork_evolution
Everytime i do it it works for me i hold like 30 seconds more then usual.Thank you.
its hyperventilation. you take away the Co2 so you feel lees urge to breathe. eventually you need to learn to hold your breath without prior hyperventilation, cause hyperventilation you can't use in the weater because of higher chance of blacking out.
@@gertleroy alr ty really helpful cause i learn how to swim.
@@user-ri9ls4tf8d never use hyperventilation in the water. please watch my Playlist breathing techniques for freediving
alr@@gertleroy
I was only able to do it for 37 seconds after this I could of it for 1 minute and 8!!!!tysm
🙏🙏🙏
i started a timer after doing this, i was so surprised to see that i made it past 2:15 when i opened my eyes. it felt like 45 seconds. i could maybe do 2:45 after using this technique
great. keep in mind that this technique is a mold form of hyperventilation and shoukd never be done in the water. only when you're on dry land. cheers
One time at school I wanted to hold my breath I went for longer than I ever did in my life and I literally like wasn't dying without air I literally felt like I was full of oxygen idk if it's normal or not bc I stayed for 5 mins and my friend was like amazed but on avarage I can hold my breath for 40 seconds
5mins is looooong if your max was 40secs.. maybe your timer was broken? 😉
Noice
@@seasonscollection9361 🙏
Thank you so much!! This is brilliant respiratory physio. I have managed, feel so relaxed ❤😊.
it's just (mild) hyperventilation. It lowers your co2 which delays the urge to breathe. That's why beginners can hold their breath longer because they haven't developed Co2 tolerance yet.
I got thirsty underwater once and I took a big sip. I left my waterbottle at the top of the pool.
Very refreshing.
Thank you Gert. You got me. I am already at 4m20sec static. ❤
Thanks it worked
off coirse it does. it's hyperventilation. you're blowing off co2 which makes beginners feel like they can hold the breath longer. however NEVER do this in the water because of higher chance of blacking out. peace 🙏
JUST LIKE WIM HOFF 😊WIM HOFF IS A AWESOME INSTRUCTOR TO OVERCOME YOUR FEARS
this is mild hyperventilation, not heavy. it's a shortcut for beginners so they can hold their breath longer. But eventually you have to learn to hold your breath without hyperventilation, and especially when you go on the water.
I will try this and compare my results!!
The people who tried this under the water : help me please am undar the wata
never do the WHM in the water.
I did this process and managed to hold my breath x2 longer, i could hold my breath for a minute before getting really uncomfortable, and now after this process i could hold it for 2 minutes straight!
that's because it's a mild form of hyperventilation. you lower co2 so you don't feel the urge to breathe that much. remember to NEVER do this in the water. never hyperventilate in the water.
I like you, and I like your exercises. I do them a bunch, but I have to address something, and I almost feel like I need to make my own youtube channel to properly mount this crusade.
All breathing is done using your diaphragm! It's just how breathing works!
The breathing you, and SO many others are talking about engages additional muscles to aid the diaphragm. Your r. abdominis, your obliques, your trans abdominis, your quadratus lumborum. Those are the guys we use to really push and pull any volume of air more than a relaxed breath.
My training is in classical voice, and if there's 1 thing classical singers do better than most, it's breathe.
That said, your videos are great and they're part of my routine maintenance!
hi thanks for the addition. I'm not sure however what's your point. this video is not about how to breathe when you're relaxed, neither it is about how to take a deep breath. It's about the principle of mild hyperventilation to expelled co2 which makes a beginner gold the breath longer, because beginners don't have Co2 tolerance developed yet. ps. don't use this technique in the water, and also please understand it's more like a hack, and eventually when you're more experienced you don't need the hyperventilation anymore. peace.

Went from 1:45 to 2:25 lol but I didn’t hold my breath for 1 year so with a little practice I can reach 3min easily
great 🙏
Best !

I normally hold my breath for like 20 seconds and cant do it any more today I made it to a whole min this works well
it's (mild) hyperventilation. it's a hack. if you like breayhwork please also learn to hold your breath without prior hyperventilation
@@gertleroy I’ll definitely be expanding my information on this because I love swimming but can never hold my breath long and I blow air out when I swim downwards
@@Mind_mender when swimming do not use this breathing technique. Insyead breathe normally.
I can only last 30 secs but now I can do atleast 100 secs. Thank you! 😊
great. please watch my Playlist breathing techniques for freediving
This is amazing! I tried so hard to do 2 minutes but i could do 1min15sec after this technique i could do 2 min easly😁🥳
Great job!
Our preperation breathing in the starting course was 4sec inhale, 8 second exhale for 2 minutes before final breath... so many tiny differences between divers...
wait! this method I describe in this video is NOT for divers. The only way to prepare yourself for a dice is by TIDAL breathing.
Any other way of breathing is HYPERVENTILATION. Light forms of hyperventilation can help a beginner hold the breath longer because of the delayed urge to breathe. But DO NOT use any form of hyperventilation in the water.
Watch my Playlist breathing techniques for freediving.
@gertleroy hey Gert... can it still be a form of hyperventilation when the exhale is that much longer than the inhale? Because those dangers were part of the course aswell but still teaching this method of breath up.
@@Uketuber1337 please watch my whole Playlist breathing techniques for freediving and also my Playlist WIM HOF.
this topic is difficult to understand. don't search for short answers. instead study and learn.
your question has been answered many times in videos in one of those 2 Playlists.
also search for my videos on hyperventilation
@@gertleroy hey Gert,
I watched the videos and get it... honestly I had always associated hyperventilation as rapid in and exhales so I did not realise the breathup with a deep inhale but substantially longer exhale could also apply.
I'm a bit surprised this method of 4 second inhale 8 second exhale is still being taught in the course we did (at ToDi in belgium)... the risks of hyperventilation were clearly explained though. But then seeing that breathup method in that same course feels a bit weird now...
@@Uketuber1337 it's a difficult discussion..😉 Hyperventilation is defined by the volume of air you exchange over a time span let's say a minute. it is not defined by the technique. So.. theoretically we cannot label the 4-8 or 2-4 or whatever breathing technique as hyperventilation. Because it all depends on HOW MUCH AIR you exchange. 4 secs in, 8 secs oit does not say anything on HOW MUCH air you actually inhaled.
But.... in REALITY... most people will almost ALWAYS breathe more with these types of breathing techniques.
So yes, MOST LIKELY it will be hyperventilation. Now, it can be a MILD form of hyperventilation, so it doesn't necessarily cause a problem on most cases. The problem is that beginners will not understand the difference and will almost always breathe too much.
Great question BTW 🙏
Buteyko method is the way to a happy healthy and contented living😊
correct. this video is about mild hyperventilation which makes breathholding easier for most people (Beginners). It's not about breathing for health benefits.
"Crazy technique guaranteed make you hold your breath longer"
"Take your final breath..."
Way to go for inifinite breathold!
Went from1:30 to 2:35 thanks for showing this technique
it's mild hyperventilation. please also learn to hold yiur breath without prior hyperventilation. see playlist breathing techniques for freediving
My breath hold increased 45 seconds from 1 minute to 1 minute and 45 seconds😁
Does this overall increase your breath hold,
Like for example: if you did a breath hold without this technique but you’ve practiced it a few times would you last longer?
as you become more knowledgeable you'll understand breath holding is NOT about the breathing techniquw you use before the breathhold. I'm just giving this techniquw here for people to try out, but at the end of the day it's aboit learning the skill of breathholding, it abiut any techniques. please watxh my Playlist breathing techniques for freediving
Ive been doing Breathwork for the last 6 years & as of last year got up 10 minutes & as of this week ive finally reached 15 min mark (I knew if i was reading the I wouldn't belive someone either) But I swear to you I did its rather odd after all the years doing it Not 2 exceed 5 minutes & all of a sudden go into 15 minutes is crazy. Im going 2 have to be forced into making a video on how I do it cause Nobody & I mean Nobody belives me even my mom!
the world record is 11:35
@@gertleroy Are You absolutely kidding me?? So your telling me that would beat the world record?? On an average with nothing but inhaling through my nose & exhaling very minimally from my mouth for about 40 times then I hold my breath for anywhere between 10-11 minutes but my best is like I said is 15 min. & 8 seconds & was actually sitting upright as I've found for me when I lie down I'm not able 2 hold as long but I'm only able to do this by a method I figured out where I use my hands & constantly brush upwards on my lower stomach pushing the oxygen up into my upper diaphragm & by doing this is how I went from 5 min up to 10 plus minutes but I've been doing this everyday for almost 7 years sometimes for several hours at a time & it was Def a gradual build up but that's absolutely insane I've never considered a world record though!!
@@rodmondh sure bud. Great joke.
Just tried this. Held for 2:54. Crazy
I can hold my breath only for 10 Sec, while singing lower notes. Is it normal. I have very bad breathing pproblem, thats why difficult to sing the complete line in one breath. Hope this ecercise would helps me.
it's a hack ( it's mild hyperventilating).

1:25!!!
Is this safe to do when actually diving or is it akin to hyperventilating?
not safe for diving. only for static. dry you can do alone. if static in pool then you need a buddy

Can you use this underwater
no. any form of hyperventilation you cannot use in the water. in water always do NORMAL breathing (tidal breathing) before holding your breath.

Many variations on how to manipulate the breath to get into the zone ( parasympathetic nervous system)!
If you breathe in through your nose ,then your diaphragm will be engaged. Your nose is for breathing, the mouth is for eating.
The problem is that most people dive with a mask, which also covers your nose. Breathing through your nose has many benefits, but in the freediving world you usually have to breathe through your mouth. Even the pros that dive without a mask, breathe up through their mouth.
