Woow. I increased my breath hold time from 60 seconds to 95 seconds in just half an hour. Edit after one day: 2 minutes and 10 seconds. Thank you so much. You made my day 💃
Great 👍👍
How long could you hold your breath now
How long can u hold now
& I would say the same thing if it wasn’t gone after 5 minutes
I did two minutes..but never in water ..relax in bck seated position
I'm 66 years old and for 2 months have been practicing the Co2 and O2 methods from another video. I started with 1 minute 30 secs, but achieved 3 minutes 30 secs yesterday 😊
Nice work!
@@gertleroy thank you 😊
wow, this is great for relaxation too. I increased my breath-hold from a little over a minute or so to very close to 2 minutes, probably about 30 or 40 seconds increase, and felt really relaxed afterwards. What a great video!
good to know !
I can hold my breath for 16 hours

This is crazy! I didn’t think I’d be able to do this but on my first breath hold I got to 2 minutes. I’m excited to see how much longer I can do this for!
Thank you so much
Great job!
If you see this, know u are strong and loved! Jesus loves u no matter what ur past looks like. Jesus loves u and I do too. Have a great day :))
Bro my grandpa is great at this....i said this is healthy exercise and recommended it to him ...its been a year but he is been layin and holdin his breath without eating or doin anything...he is so amazing right?
Getting into a new sport and watching a ton of videos, this was amazing, I would always fight myself and really force the 2 min hold but using the method of the body scam keep my mind much more relaxed and almost distracted to be able to push more the 2 min hold. Great video as long as you actually follow the steps!
Thanks and well done ✌️
Last summer I held my breath for a little over 2 minutes underwater. I didn’t have much technique, and could’ve easily passed out from hyperventilating . Thanks for giving me an organized routine to practice and become more consistent
to be fair, the breatheup technique in this video can be considered as a mild form of hyperventilation as well. it is meant for beginners to practice on land.
in the water however we do tidal breathing. please watch my Playlist breathing techniques for freediving.
@@gertleroy thanks! I will watch that before swimming. Besides, I don’t swim much in the winter
@@emoney451 🙏
Thank you for the instruction, Gert! I really enjoyed your video. I'm at 1 min 30 sec sitting here at my desk (which I attempted before watching your video instructing me to do this while lying down!) I plan to go snorkeling in five months time, so I am hoping to improve my breath holding, using your techniques. I will try to remember to post my progress. I have been a fan of breath holding and freediving, ever since reading 'Through the Tunnel' as a young man. I would always swim underwater in the pool from end-to-end to practice, but this was before the web and I didn't know what I was doing and information was hard to find, so I never seriously pursued the sport. Now that I am older (53) I am becoming interested again, because I appreciate the mental (yoga) aspect to it and it seems like a sport in which age doesn't have the same negative effects. I have subscribed and hope to learn much from you. Thank you, again!
It's a mental sport so usually we get better at it as we age 😊. Welcome. To the channel 🙏
results? @jimmy Pribble
You're such a good instructor. I just now, after watching this video, tried holding my breath following your insctructions, sitting in my chair in my office and I managed to do 2:15, which I never thought possible. There were some minor convulsions later on and my brain really wanted to trick me to breathe, but I just relaxed and it worked. Can't wait to try in the water together with equalization, which I up to this day didn't know existed, so I dove only about 4m max. Thank you.
This is the BEST video about holding breath I habe ever seen, amazing!
Thank you, for the fun and engaging video Gert! Your instructions got me to relax and the mental part was my breakthrough to hold my breath for 2 minutes Yay! I enjoyed the natural High after the breath hold 😊
Awesome 👍👍
I recently started mermaiding and my biggest challenge is breath-holding (I could only hold for maybe 10-15 seconds). I've tried other techniques that didn't work for me. I just tried your techniques and I was able to hold for 1:18! I'll practice frequently to build it up. Thank you for such a comprehensive approach!

Last Time i could hold it for 2:40min in water thanks to your Videos. Its a crazy Feeling in the water without the constant urge to breath, its a Feeling of freedom that u never felt before i just love it.

Wow! I when I saw this video pop up I was skeptical that it would help help me improve at all. I'm not a diver but I'm a long time trumpet player. Thanks to breathing exercises for that, I do pretty well holding my breath already. Before watching I did a test breath hold and got 2:23. Which is actually a bit better than my usual 2:15.. I watched the video, made a few adjustments to my technique based on your recommendations and tried again. 3:04! Holy crap! Geez. Never would have expected that. Great video!
Good job 💯💯

Hi I would like to say your method works great I was only able to hold my breath for 40 seconds but after 2 days of doing this usually in the morning I am able to go up to 1:04 I feel like if you give me 1 more week and I could get to 1:40 to 2:00 minutes if not longer!!!! Fantastic info! I love free diving. It’s pretty relaxing to hold one’s breath and feel the pressure of the water, once you dive deeper and deeper. It’s a bit scary when you start a free fall. One thing I wouldn’t recommend beginners is not to hyperventilate before the dive.

When I took my last breath I pressed the button to activate the timmer only thing is it was on the chronometer and I didn't realize. I held my breath waiting for the beep at two minutes. When I couldn't go any longer I took a breath and looked at my watch and that's when I realized I had started the chronometer insted of the timmer. 3'34 minutes had passed.
