Thank you. You so changed my mind with a beginner's perspective. I was on the fence with many models. Thank you! So, buying this for my bday this Sat. I love new hobbies for the warmer months here in NY.
I just ordered mine tonight. I should have it within the next 5 days I hope.
SOLD! Haha Excellent video
Thinking about buying the non-"upgraded" version. Thanks for going in as new as me and checking it out!
The one "toy" I want the most these days.
I just got this bad boy.
Thanks for sharing. Wanted to cast small objects, and was curious about this product.
its best to use map gas..dont use propane for melting...it just doesnt get hot enough for things like gold and silver.
Forgot to preheat your crucible dude. If you wish for your crucible to have a long life with many heats, reheats, and pours it is suggested that you run the crucible to high temp then back to cool several times prior to smelting metal. Otherwise, nice work.
I appreciate your video too. I am also wanting to get one. I really did not want the propane furnace.
they could be loose since the metal will get hot. But could also get slippery when hot so ill watch with mine when it gets here
Did you have to glaze your Crucible before using it?
Very Interesting that it runs on house power. Is there anything you cannot do? Always surprising what your videos have in store!
So, what's the biggest version they have? I've been wanting to get into melting, and making full-size ingots. How much would it cost?
This could make a fairly decent sized ingot if you had the right mold, but the biggest one they have that I'm aware of is 12kg. www.amazon.com/TOAUTO-Capacity-TMF12000-V2-Aluminum-Smelting/dp/B09N6VWHQH BigstackD has some great videos to get a reference on sizes: czcams.com/video/b0KYYbS8cC4/video.html

Fascinating. And you're able to do this in your room?
Did you notice any cracks on the white wall area next to the crucible? I saw a crack on mine, do you think it’s normal?
I didn't have any cracks. The refractory cement will break down over time and use, but that probably happened during shipping. You can buy refractory cement to renew your forge, but you may want to just get a replacement as yours is new.
@@distractor_beamreviews yeah good point. It was my first melt, so I was shocked to see the hairline crack up top. I did notice inside there wasn’t any cracks. I was worried it went all the way through, but I didn’t see anything. I may try the cement or just send it back. Not sure yet. Thanks.
This might be a weird question, but what's that thing for putting letters on it called?
Number and letter stamp set
@@Distractor_Beam Thank you very much. Never knew how to search for this.
@@Carawing Happy to help. :)
Any rolled or sheet Al is 99 percent plus Al. No salt is needed. Most tubular or channeled runs are same 99 pure. Unless your scraping lots of cast aluminum salting isn't necessary. Most food grade Al as well 99 pure.
Older video but I have to say it.. You're MELTING not SMELTING. Smelting extraction from ore.
