May not be good to use a propane tank, empty or not, as a base when pouring molten metal.Just an observation.
Im sure by now you know that white stuff is zinc oxide. Zinc flash point is lower than the melting point of the copper

The white wall around the crucible, mine had a crack on one side. Is that normal?
@Rick3y Rick3y thanks I lifted the crucible up, looked inside didn’t see any cracks. Just the outside part had like a hairline crack running on one side near the crucible. I’ll fire it up again tomorrow, see if I get any cracks. Thanks for your help

Still works great, even though used it a dozen times. Works great for fishing weights also.
