This video shows the step by step process of installing an aftermarket steering wheel in a Mk5 Volkswagen (Jetta, Golf, Passat, GTI). Also, I show how to safely remove the airbag. I am using a MOMO hub adapter and this beautiful Renown USA steering wheel. This is a great way to transform the interior of your car.
A few things to note:
1, you will lose your airbag and the light will show on your dash
2, the horn will not be functional (I hope to find a solution to wire it up)
3, I have retained the clock spring. If you delete this, you will most likely have the traction control light on your dash.

@@joshava21 I honestly have not had time. I have a good plan though so stay tuned. I need it working. Too many bad drivers out there.
@@VoyageRC I feel the same way. Just installed a renown on my mk5 and can’t seem to figure out the horn situation. Got all the wires but doesn’t seem to work. Thanks

Any luck with the horn?? Can’t get mine to work. Factory wheel seems to have some sort of module in it which I think the horn wires go through
Hey brother! Just finished installing an aftermarket steering wheel on my mk5 as well. Quick question , my traction control light is on, even if it’s on do you think the traction control will still work?
So I can use any steering wheel that has those 5 holes, as long as I have that adapter?
As long as the steering wheel has the same bolt pattern 👍🏻
