- I never thought I would get to Canada's strangest park, Marineland. But in June 2023, I finally got there, and uncovered a whole world of odd that I didn't think possible.

Looks insane??? Lmfao a 1980 arrow?? Lmfao you mist not get to ride new Rollercoasters bruh
@@user-ec7nq2sx6r I just mean the journey through the woods of Canada must be great. Also I have KI as my home park and I have rode the Beast. So I do think it would just be a great experience.
@@user-ec7nq2sx6r it's insane in the same way the beast is insane. Not necessarily forceful or anything, but a ridiculously long ride that's almost fully wooded
Dragon mountain is my number 3 coaster behind fury 325 and steel vengeance
You did it. You went to the worst theme park in North America based off quite a lot of factors
It’s so bad. If all the water in Niagara Falls was paint and it splashed over Darien Lake, it wouldn’t be enough.
Still seems like a good time.
@@darkridedan1 - Where I lived as a kid, we were roughly equal distances from Darien Lake, Hershey Park, and Dorney Park so we’d go to all three. At that time in the late 80s, I feel like all three were roughly equal. Cedar Fair and Six Flags have done no favors to Darien/Dorney, they are so far behind HersheyPark at this point it’s unreal.
@@darkridedan1Darian lake is not a bad park. Plus compared to Marineland 😂 no chance
Holy crap that park is spacious. I thought Holiday World was ridiculous with everything being an uphill trek.
Marineland reminds me of one of those RollerCoaster Tycoon 2's "take this abandoned failed amusement park and turn it into a thriving thrill park" scenarios.
Those failing parks were always fun
Dragon Mountain is such an odd, yet legendary roller coaster, and I love it!
Thanks for sharing your 5-day hike to Dragon Mountain with us. Definitely looks to be worth the visit just for the weirdness.
Also I was confused for a hot minute when you started covering Ride of Steel lol
Confusion was the goal
Yeah lol
1:16 is so strange. It's rare you see a park path that's not completely surrounded by shops, restaraunts, scenery, Dippin Dots stands(best source of rumors) and the like. Not to mention being completely surrounded, there's not even a single building in sight.
It used to be like that back in the 90s to 2010s but after all the animal cruelty stuff most Canadians just stopped going back. Now it looks dead
Dragon Mountain looks super interesting. Congrats on finally getting the credit.
Dude anytime chris uploads my day gets better 🎉🎉❤🎉🎉🎉
💯
Same tho ong
The real MVP of this channel is this guys wife. Most viewers don't appreciate how difficult it is to travel and go to parks with a baby....and not only that, he ditches her and goes have fun all day while she watches the baby lol.
Yeah that's pretty much how it shakes out
Most viewers lmfao😂😂😂😂😂😂 dude you ain't special "figuring" that out lmfao. Jeff..douche
No offense but if my husband is walking around the park commentating everything to himself I wouldn't care if he walks alone and leaves me 😂😂
Great editing! You had me cracking up! I think it’s great that your family will always have these great memories to look back on! It’s been a joy watching Sophie chase credits. She’s come a long way from “it really gets the airtime going”
Someone could buy this park and have such an easy path to expansion. This is one of the most popular tourist areas in North America and most of those people are not going to this park.
I want it to be Herschend. It fits perfectly with the regions they are in with their two main parks.
Well,. Marineland has next to nothing and it costs way too much. 53 bucks and only about 7 rides.
@@BackSeatJunkie It's a dead park at this point. Only a matter of time. until they get bought or go bankrupt.
Yo, -Six Flags Darien Lake- Marineland is looking pretty snazzy these days.
How this place is still in business is baffling.
The original owner passed away years ago and his family oversees the park now but with all of the negative publicity it doesn’t seem like the future is looking very bright. They don’t have as much money as SeaWorld so they can’t just build a ton of coasters even though they have more than enough land to build coasters.
@@justinmaybach6388I’m honestly shocked seaworld hasn’t bought them and transformed it
didnt realize they moved darien lake to marineland
Bright Sun Films' video about MarineLand did not give me a good impression of the place.
I can only imagine if a good chain took ownership, what they could do with the place
My kids love roller coasters, they got 50 new credits this summer - but the highlight of our summer this year was going to Niagara Falls and riding Maid of the Mist and (especially) walking Cave of the Winds at the base of Bridal Veil Falls. My seven year old son getting excited while being sprayed by water and happily exclaiming “You don’t get to do this every day!” is a moment I’ll treasure.
Marineland: like Seaworld, but worse in every fashion. Also from other videos I’ve seen that looks like the busiest day in years
"A real train or an Amy Train?" That was adorable!! 😂😂😂
Dragon Mountain is like the Ultimate if it had inversions.
Thanks for checking out Darien Lake love to you at the home park
I was so confused where all the rides were coming from lol 😂 I haven’t been to Marineland since the 90’s and Dragon Mountain was the only coaster but it was and still looks awesome 😁 I wish an investor would take it over so much room for expansion. It’s a huge park walking it is no joke lol 😂
To be fair, my grown fiancé was also traumatized by the drop tower at Castles & Coasters. That thing is pure jank and I love it.
It's really terrifying
Love the vids. Keep up the good work!
It made sense to group the two parks together in a video since many families from Canada have stayed at Darien Lake every summer for decades and the park definitely appreciates Canada. I had season passes for Darien Lake before working there and I also visited Marineland a few times with my family.
The area with the small slides you weren’t sure about is a splash pad didn’t appear to be open the day you were there. It was funny seeing how you did all that extra walking and passed by the unique flat rides since I’m pretty sure there’s supposed to be a train that transports guests from the front of the park to the back of the park but I’m not exactly sure. Dragon Mountain is certainly underrated although it was supposed to have a much better theme and those plans never materialized. Additionally, I’m glad you got on Sky Screamer. It has to be one of the world’s tallest drop tower attractions but it hasn’t operated with all three towers in a very long time. Finally, I’m surprised that you and Sophie couldn’t ride the same coaster that’s intended for children at both parks but I’m glad they let you on at Marineland.
As for Darien Lake, it looked like you were there on a decent day and got on all of the coasters that were worth riding. I should let you know that at one point they had a train that would’ve been perfect for Amy, but it was taken out nearly thirty years ago to make way for a wave pool and Ride of Steel. Lastly, I should ask if you and Sophie actually waited for Moose on the Loose?
Thanks for all of your content. I’m happy to know that you got out to the parks with the family this summer. Looking forward to more content in the future!
We did not in fact ride moose on the loose. We actually were on a bit of a time crunch because we had a long drive to Hershey
"Be taller" great advice 🤣
Chris is the type of guy to call river rapids “foam”
Im a city boy what can I say
thursdays are the best days of the week
Kudos to you guys. I did that walk when I was 6 and I was too short to ride Dragon Mountain. My mom and sister sat down and then once the harnesses were locked they screamed to get off. So my grandfather went around alone.
I was at Darien Lake two weeks ago, but I didn’t have my passport. So denied again.
PS. Predator was the best coaster at DL! I skipped the SLC and headbanger because, reasons.
Haha just missed you guys at Hershey Park. I got Six ride on Wildcats Revenge and loved it. Have fun on your trip. Off to Dorney for me.
These are so great!! My son went from Wild Eagle, Tennessee tornado and mystery mine to Top Thrill Dragster. After we got off he didn’t want to look at pictures and I didn’t know why. I eventually got a look at it and he had his middle finger up. He said he didn’t want to say the real thing. Lol
Keep the videos coming 🤙
I remember visiting Niagara Falls, seeing Marineland (atleast the drop towers). I kinda wanted to do it but I decided not to due to time.
Dragon Mountain is a buzzard coaster to say the least. At times it feels like you are on a journey aboard a park train then you are hit with some pleasant surprises. The tunnel drop into the bow tie is really fun and unique. 1000 acres of undeveloped land in a massive tourist area, this park could make a fortune if they ditched the mammals and invested in rides. Cedar Fair could turn this place around in no time.
I rode dragon mountain in the 80s and there was no line. Sat in the back seat for five straight rides. Loved it
That's a real train, a few times per day you'll see a cargo train slowly go through if you're lucky/unlucky.
Love me Dragon Mountain, first coaster with inversions I ever went on, went on it like a dozen times. Just wish they'd finish the theming.
I grew up across the river in NY in the 80's. I used to go there when it was in it's hayday. Looks kinda sad now
thats what im talking about thats called theming right there killed me💀
Nice rides. I rather go to Canadas Wonderland. Flight Deck is pretty rough. Glad you and Sophie got some good coaster credits. Safe trip home.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I went on it, fun ride but I am fairly short so the headbanging put it below Loch Ness Monster for me, I did enjoy it though. Its definitely unique.
I remember going there in the 90's with my uncle. me and my cousin went on the Dragon Mountain 28 times that day and we were disappointed that we couldn't have a night ride.
For people who have never been, I don't think you captured EXACTLY how much walking there is to get from one place to another.
nice! love ur vids!
Sophie is definitely on to something with calling the drop tower at Castles and Coasters traumatizing. That thing definitely traumatized me when I went on it.
Dragon Mountain is so weird like what is that helix inside of that rock
unfinished theming, it was originally supposed to be themed to a volcano.
@@markvolpe2305 oh ok, I didn’t know this thank you
Unfinished, would’ve looked super cool but they burned through money and just left it, the place is a 💩 🕳️
Airtime Thrills travel plans:
Go to Europe for two days, then return to Canada.
Imagine if that were true
My vlog schedule is definitely not the most efficient route
@@AirtimeThrills wonder when your vlog vehicle stops in Sandusky
I know this was taped prior to your trip to Dog Fart Land, but it was the perfect opportunity to go back and add a voiceover so we could have two videos in a row featuring:
"I'm now somewhere in the colon..."
I finally got here last year. I had fun with family friends even though this park is extraordinary sad. I can’t believe it’s still open and last year they actually built new rides.
I just completed my rite of passage today. Such a bizarre coaster. Sky Screamer was also my first S&S drop tower. Very fun! Also went on Frank N Coaster at the Cliffton Hill. Do not recommend. It's an exact synonym for janky and jarring.
Sophie has double my credits at half my age 💀
This was my first "Big" coaster as a kid. It's very underrated IMO. It's a pretty fun Arrow.
I am 23 and an avid coaster enthusiast. When I tell you I’m right there with you on Castles N’ Coasters traumatizing me Sophie. Rode it when I was about 9 or 10 and still traumatizes me😂😂😂
For some reason I vividly remember seeing that drop tower on a video of the Niagara Falls...
That was my first looping coaster back in 1987. My mom would take us on it.
God damnit you're making me want to do the 6 hour trip to Marineland even more now, it looks like such a crappy park but in the most entertaining way possible
Oh its 100% worth the experience
@@AirtimeThrills miiiiiight do it Labor Day weekend, it's either that or the Alpine Bobsled before it closes. IDK if I would give Marineland another year
10:28 At Geuaga Lake, Mind Eraser was the name of the Boomerang instead of the SLC. Kid me didn't see the sign with the ride's name on it at the time which made me think the ride was called the "Minedey Racer".
Advice for everyone who is too short to clear headbanging on arrow loopers. Brace your head on one side of the restraint for the entire ride. I did this for years until i was finally tall enough clear the OTSR’s.
Every time I hear about this park, I'm a little more surprised it hasn't gone bankrupt yet. Dragon Mountain deserves a better park around it.
Marineland plus Darien Lake lol
Always fascinating watching enthusiasts taking the Dragon Mountain dive... as a GTA resident, 905, I'll say Marineland is a home-adjacent park. Busch takevoer/makeover down the road?
If I ever go to Canada, I will definitely hit this park up along with Canada's Wonderland.
Man, I need to get to Marineland to ride both Arrow looping goodness.
I am shocked there is so much land near Niagara Falls to waste space like they do at MarineLand.
Maybe they can send some to Cedar Point. 🤔
We already have Ednor and Flight Deck, please don't allow us Mind eraser as well !!! Enough SLCs
This is a combo of Marineland Canada and Darien Lake, Just outside of Buffalo NY
YES DRAGON MOUNTAIN (シ_ _ )シ (シ_ _ )シ (シ_ _ )シ
Big fan of your videos, would have loved to meet you at one of the parks while you were here. As a local, I must state that Darien Lake is in Darien Center, NY just outside of Buffalo, not Canada lol. Did you hit the Niagara Amusement Park (Formerly Fantasy Island) too?
Not this time, but we did go there in 2018
Am I drunk....is this two different parks....either way you are cracking me up! Keep doing this!
The other park was Darien Lake in NY
@@handyhank1967 i knew but he cracks me up
This place is weird. I’ve been once or twice when I was really little but I recently rode Dragon Mountain for the first time a couple days ago. It’s probably my current 2nd favourite Arrow after Vortex. It’s pretty tame other than the 4 inversions it hauls through. In terms of Arrow loopers I enjoyed this more than Viper at SFMM, and may only be superseded by Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg (have not yet ridden)!
I love watching your videos any Amy is so cute❤❤❤
Remember the part in Dumb and Dumber where Harry is trying to get the girl's number at the gas station? But his pants are on fire and he says, "For God's sake just give me the dam number!"
That's how i feel about you posting this video instead of the 600th credit video...lol
Hahahaha well, that vlog is set to drop on Sep 7 so I'm leaving yall waiting a bit
i am finally happy he has been to the park that is just cursed in my opinion
Just HECTARES. AND. HECTARES. AND HECTARES. OF. SPAAAAAAAAACCCCCEEEEE. BETWEEN. RIDES. Oh, Wow this place is just RIDDDDDIIICCCULOUS!
Airtime Thrills: “After Magnum, X2 and Gemini, that is my fourth favorite Arrow.”
Viper at Magic Mountain: “Am I a joke to you?”
Actually after my revised rankings Viper is higher
Raptors? They could build multiple T-Rex's with all that land lol.
I'm waiting for the Canadians in the comments making sure to say Mind Eraser isn't theirs.
Also I know the idea of a park having two Arrow Loopers is silly, then I remember Great America had two for like 15 years
True, that was very strange when I realized that. The big and new one didn't last long
@@AirtimeThrills Also true of Busch Gardens Williamsburg once upon a time.
I feel like with some more investment this park could be really good
I laughed when you transitioned from Marineland to SFDL, I was wondering why Ride of Steel was in the thumbnail lol. Did you also make it to Niagara Amusement Park? I know this year they've been closing the park whenever there's "inclement weather".
Does Fantasy Island/Niagara Amusement Park still keep Silver Comet in operation? I havent been there since 2019
Marineland was closed on me because there was mist in the morning.
@@cecilthecavetroll9743 - I believe Silver Comet is still there, and they plan to open two more roller coasters next year.
You actually missed a coaster at Marineland! It's a little bit of a hike, and you have to go through a spooky house and up a flight of steps, but it's called Frank N' Coaster and it's as janky as it's name 😂
It is not at Marineland but in Clifton Hill
welcome to the middle of nowhere
@5:48 Oh gosh, yes Demon is a bit ruff these days 😂😂
Much land and well ... not much there.
That said, I do praise Dragon Mountain for having the only Bow Tie on any roller coaster (why Ron Toomer chose that element, I don't know).
But hey, an S&S Shot Tower so ... ya
There was a tank next to the Beluga whales which used to have one orca but she passed away earlier this year. Was the tank drained?
Mr Thrills, will there be a liseberg vlog or anymore vlogs of your trip to Scandinavia? I saw your reel of helix on your instagram.
Yep Scandinavia vlog series resumes Sep 7
Woohoo 🎉
As an el toro fan I definitely want to hear the balder review.
I bet you miss Kennywood right about now
Did you try the barrel roll over Niagara Falls? I hear it gets insane airtime
If you ever get lost, just use the park map :)
I'm surprised at how many coasters this place has.
You know it's a long walk when Airtime Thrills is complaining about it being long
When did you guys go to Castle's and Coasters? I live in Arizona.
Funny enough, Lady Bug Coaster & Hoot N’ Holler are the same exact roller coaster, yet Darien Lake is an extremely case where adults can’t ride even with a child, really annoying if you want NY completion
Amy needs a train ride.
You know it’s a bad park when the thumbnail says “send help”
This place is really weird and not great other then dragon mountain but I did have alot more fun here then Elitch Gardens and Lakeside which I visited earlier on the trip.
Now you can compare Marine Land or La Ronde😂
Video Idea: You should do a video on Six Flags Great America Vs California’s Great America Vs Sixflags America vs Fun Spot America vs American Dream (NickU). That would be hilarious and actually really good. They’re not coasters but
When did Darien Lake move to Marineland? lol
that's what I was thinking Viper, preditor, moto coster, mind eraser tantrum is six flags, not marineland
@@jmrcs2935I think he was using a secret tactic called joking
@@kamicoastshe was using a secret tactic called sarcasm. Actual funny people use jokes like Robin Williams, Jim Carrey, DL Hughley and George Lopez.
The train is not part of the park. Hope Marineland gets acquired by SeaWorld
People got stuck on that coaster last time I was there.
Did you take the hike up to the Sky Screamer while you were there?
I did, best drop tower
Wait, did he not know he was back in America when he went to Darien Lake?
Your at Six Flags Darian lake
