      What exactly is receiving the proper amount of credit to you? A TV show? Dinner at the White House? Seriously? At what point does somebody get enough credit where you don't say that? What does it take for you? Your mother mentioning his name at the dinner table?

    Thank you Pierogi - just talked with my grandma at Thanksgiving to learn she got scammed by "Microsoft technicians" and is out a few hundred dollars. It made me so angry - her memory is beginning to fail her and she is not as sharp as she used to be. I calmly reminded her that no one will ever call her to offer help, and that if she has any issues with her computer or phone to please contact her grandchildren. But for as long as I have been watching you now, it's personal at this point.

      IMO The People need to be relentless in contacting their local representatives and demand they petition the federal government to invest the same $10-million into scam warnings as the current contracted Ad Council work on PSA's for the KungFuFlu, just as they've done in the past with successful federally funded Ad Council campaigns as "got milk, gruff mcgruff, sm0key-the-bear". Heck the federal government has multiple sub-agencies "dedicated" to the "welfare of the elderly", through the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), yet they're somehow oblivious to what's happening to the elderly via the internet/telephone - nah, of course they know. The issue is that congress and govt at all levels will not do anything unless they're forced to do it, and that power comes by way of public demands at the city/county/state levels, poking and prodding and/or shaming them to do it. I've been sending emails writing letters and leaving phone messages for months now, but I'm only one voice that is easily ignored.

    • @cynthias2136
      @cynthias2136 Před 2 lety +1

      I couldn't agree more!!

    • @GlobalistJuice
      @GlobalistJuice Před 2 lety +1

      Also, the Social Security Administration has messaging on their mailing envelopes, but this federal agency didn't just all of a sudden decide to do that on a whim, and I would bet it was because word of emptying entire bank accounts made it to the desk of someone who realized the entire agency was about to be criticized into oblivion if they didn't at least do something in an effort to remove the agency from any blame by way of their agency doing nothing about the theft of the very citizens they're tasked to serve. Something had some effect, there are less SSA calls, and little to no IRS calls.
      I do know a govt agency receiving public criticism and blame comes with unwanted scrutiny, which could lead to reduced funding, or revealing shenanigans unknown to the public, and if for nothing else, it's selfish motivation to do something to stop it.
      But who knows, it could be there is such rampant corruption inside government and fear of getting caught-up in all of it, or potential exposure of involvement, maybe all it took was a govt phone call directly to a scam-boss on speed-dial, telling them to leave their agencies alone and move along. At this point, I wouldn't doubt ANY govt collusion at ANY level. haha ha

      Samsung automatically flags them and blocks them eventually. Enough people need to report them and it happens.
      I tend to get more 'wrong number' scams, but even them have tapered off.
      As soon as a number starts to bite back and yell that they're talking bollocks you tend to get removed.
      Ppi was the main one... I snapped at one once and that was one of the last.
      Mam had a go at me for being short with a wrong number one once and it's like, it's a scam, I've had this area code before, if they were legit they'd write to me.
      I'm UK based, we tend to get hit by things like this less. I think money mules aren't as easy to deal with as there's quite a few steps involved with payment to new payees etc.
      Banks put ads out about scams on the regular and there's TV slots n other ads telling people to watch out for your elderly friends.
