I am old, single, and retired. Your show has led me to not accept any phone calls from numbers I don't recognize. If they have a serious issue, they will leave a message. From that message I call my known service providers with phone numbers taken from my monthly bills to double check. Thank you for your service.

Tell your friends about these scams, ma’am. You could save someone a lot of trouble!
After you've found out from your service providers that they are scammers, why not have some fun with them if you have some time? Tell them old stories. Tell them the phone keeps cutting out and ask them to repeat themselves again. Take your time trying to find a pen. You now have to find another pen that works. Tell them that you're hard at hearing and that they need to talk louder. You lost your glasses and you can't tell the difference between numbers on your credit card because they are too small to see. Your arthritis makes you type slow.

When the scammers ask you how you know their names, their files names, and so forth, suggest to them that maybe there is someone among them who is a double agent, providing you with information about their operation. Planting the seeds of doubt in the scammers' minds will help destroy them from the inside. They won't know who to trust.

I work at Walgreens and have intercepted multiple elderly people who were gonna be scammed! I am 73 years old and still working to supplement my social security check…I consider it my ministry! Keep up the incredible work!

I tell everyone I know to watch Scammer PayBack and the like. I want them to educate themselves and tell their friends and family. At this point I just LOVE when you can hear the concern/terror/non-understanding, in a scammer's voice and boop, files gone.

My dad had no pension left and about $300 in his bank account when he died, and likely had lost his savings to scammers so THANK YOU for doing what you do to help prevent this from happening to anyone else!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU! Watching your programs just saved me from a scam. As soon as the ever-so-polite foreigner told me to open my browser, I hung up and called my credit card company myself. As I was hanging up, he was yelling, "Don't do that! Don't do that!" I did that. Thank you so much.

Hi Scammer payback, I have watched a few of your videos and would like to thankyou for what you do. This problem is world wide, i work with a lot of elderly and have actually been able to intercept some calls to stop them from being scammed. Thankyou and keep up the good work.

I work at Best Buy and all the time older people come in saying a gift card they bought has no money on it. It hurts me so much to let them know they were scammed. Thank you for bringing awareness to scams like this!

It’s surprised more shopkeepers don’t realise what’s happening when a confused or nervous customer comes in to purchase like four cards at $500 value. Maybe they do query but the customer doesn’t let on.
@@stanrix I work at a grocery store & we have to ask if it's above $300 or if they're buying multiple cards with high amounts. I've managed to steer away about a dozen old people and one in her 30s that fell for it. Some lazy workers don't ask or care though.

My grandfather LOVES getting these scammer calls. He's 96 and has been getting these calls for the last 7 years. He will ask for one particular scammer just to make him very angry.

I love when the scammer, supposedly from XYZ Corporation, asks for your account number. I always ask them, "Shouldn't you have it if you're really from XYZ Corporation?" Drives them nuts.

For some reason , very recently I have had a plethora of scam emails in my inbox. Most are attempted delivery from 'IPS' with the 'UPS' logo and also other "delivery" companies. I have re-directed them to my spam folder but it's interesting that all of a sudden my email is being targeted. I am of course, on the wrong side of 60, so I am in the scammers preferred age bracket. However, I watch your videos and a few other scambaiters too and I know not to respond to them. I also got a while back, emails that said I had won a prize from a local supermarket, all were badly worded/spelled and very obviously bogus. But these scammers work very hard at getting our money. Keep up the good work!

True
90% of computer users back up our machines using cloud services for phones and clonezilla for desktops. Most scammers use virtual machines that can be cloned, deleted, or re-made within minutes and the files are backed up on NAS (network area storage) devices. When a youtube does this... they delete the virtual machine and re-create a new one that is exactly the same and re-pull all data from last backup into the device. India is a target because they are too poor to update and still use old computers and decades old equipment.

Just started following your channel. I actually got a few emails from “Norton” the red flag for me was the way stuff was worded in the email. Plus the customer service was not an 800 number but rather a standard landline/ cellphone number. I usually just delete those emails

My parents are older and watch a lot of air tv. None of these scams are talked about on tv for the older generations. This stuff should be all over the news and commercials instead of the constant Medicare commercials. My dad actually fell for one of these scams, but thankfully no money was sent. I wish this stuff was sent out to the older generations to inform them.
You are mostly right. I have seen a couple of mentions on my local newscasts, but not nearly enough is covered. One reason might be that there are endless scams out there of all types through email, phone calls, texting and to a much lesser extent, snail mail. I have experienced all of them myself and they are ever changing. It's a numbers game. They just need one or two gullible victims to cash in big time. Like most predators they prey on the old and weak(minded). I hate these A-holes!
