Flight from Butaritari to Bonriki International Airport in Tarawa / Kiribati - 01/03/13

A comfortable return flight back to Tarawa after spending one night in this outer-island of Kiribati & approximately a 40 min's flight returning to Bonriki International Airport in Tarawa the capital of Kiribati, flight return on AIR-KIRIBATI on the 1st March 2013. You will notice OUR AIRLINE at the end of the video clip at Bonriki Airport arrived 4 days later after my flight booking to the Marshall Islands was cancelled at the last minute from Tarawa on the 25/02/13 due to technical problems & the aircraft still in Brisbane, I wasn't able to re-book due to my length of time here in Tarawa & OUR AIRLINE flight schedules.

I had the pleasure of delivering the CASA in the video to the Government of Kiribati from the States on 18 Jan 2002. Glad to see T3-ATJ still at it!!!!

The fleet of Air Kiribati was mostly Brittan Norman Trilanders and the Casa when I was there during the 1980's, Air Marshall islands was running Dorniers to the outer islands from Majuro back then. "Our Airline" formerly Air Nauru. Butaritari much nicer than South Tarawa, easy lifestyle and traditional, South Tarawa just a ribbon of overpopulated urban mess.

I made this return journey in 1981 ... on the flight out from Tarawa, we touched down at another island - can't remember which one) and a very lively pig in a net was loaded into the hold.... we rocked about a bit

the casa is an ideal aircraft for Kiribati's outer island rough airstrips. unfortunately it has been recently replaced with a twin otter also delivered from the States.
