YT48 Surah Al-Kahf (Surah 18): Did God Order Al Khidr to Kill a Young Boy? by Dr. Hany Atchan

  • In this segment we deal with a perennial accusation against the Quran, based on Surah Al-Kahf (Surah 18) with regards to the question: Did God order the killing of a young boy simply because God feared this boy to grow up to be rebellious and disbeliever? The basic traditional story is repugnant and unacceptable. Our Quranic methodology allows a simple and elegant answer that refutes all the false stories about Al-Khidr.

Great Question... See Verse 7:129: Moses is talking, but uses "Your lord" instead of "our lord." This "splitting" is a part of the locution of the Israelite community of which Moses was part. ANd this "splitting" is common throughout the Quran. Regards

      Their because it's their son.

    • @Diamondraw4Real
      @Diamondraw4Real Před 3 lety +3

"Their" would be the parents just bc they are the ones who will get another child. They, all 3 in the group (if that's the meaning of "we") could desire that Allah gives the couple ("them") another child. Problem is I don't know Arabic grammar but it still seems to make logical sense. Maybe the Arabic needs more of an indepth study.

@@MarvelousQuran It's like an Army Officer is telling the soldiers, ''Oh soldiers,Your King has asked you to do this do that today. So we (alltogather) going to obey our King''. The wise man killed the Young Man with his parents. But the next child of parents were givent to the couple by their lord. The Wise Man wasn't part of this next child though the lord is also his lord. It was the parents and their lord, in fact everyone's lord who would give them the next child.

Yes, you are right that the word “we” “feared” could not be Allah included.
As Allah is All Knowing (certainty), why would Allah need to be doubtful with “we feared” - answer is staring in our face.

In some books of tafseer, it is also said that Al-Khidr is an angel in the form of man. And this has given legitimacy for so many sufi orders across India for performing corrupt, malicious and forbidden practices in Islam. But now, Alhumdulillah, I have got my doubts cleared. Thanks.

Since these stories had to do with showing knowledge that Musa (peace be upon him) would not be able to cope up with killing an evil young man does not require much knowledge. It could be that Allah gave this man (Al Khidr) some knowledge of the future. Allah knows best.

So I always kind of thought the son being killed was a kind of bittersweet type of mercy for his own benefit in the future, as some parents on yawm al Qiyamah will most likely wish that their kids had been killed at a young age so they can escape the torment of their rebellion. Idk. Just my 2 cents.

The verse did not said how He ki lled the boy?? 18;74/80
So the boy died because of his just presence......
And use of plural form as فَخَشِينَا and فَأَرَدْنَا Means along with Khidr there was an invisible entity with him.
And the Gulam His parents are Momins thus we were afraid (Khidr and Angle) disgrace his parents and became rebel and disbeliever 17;80
It means he did not stran gled or shot or Stab bed the boy, but he has angle force with him that does taking of soul as Allah SWT regularly collect the souls of Humans..
And the boy which was not of Paradise became boy of paradise by their action..
    ‏ فَأَرَدْنَا أَن يُبْدِلَهُمَا رَبُّهُمَا خَيْرًا مِّنْهُ زَكَاةً وَأَقْرَبَ رُحْمًا ‎﴿٨١﴾‏
Thus we (khidr and Angle) decided their lord replace him by one who is better than him and eligible for mercy. 18;81

      @MarvelousQuran  Před 3 lety

@BJJ Black Belt You added "The believers here are the first believers, the companions of the prophet", as a condition that Allahh did not specify in the original aya...This is the fault in the argument that Imam Ash-Shaafi3i gave when he was cornered into coming up with a Quranic justification for Ijmaa3.... The Quran did not include this condition!
And therefore, you conclude that only those people who were with the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) were "Mu'minum" believers, and others are not!!! But you forget another aya (4:94): Don't not say to anyone who offers you peace "You are not a believer!"
Your argument is the way of those who want to fragment the Quran الذين جعلوا القرءان عضين

Those who don't want to think and who don't want to consider the evidence choose to label this person or that person. It's their way of sticking to the lazy path, instead of directly engaging the words of the Quran.
As far as the Hadith and the "Quranist", I use the Hadith in many areas of research and I consider the Hadith collections very valuable tools for understanding. I will have a video on this topic soon insha Allahh. Keep watching

Hello just stumbled upon your work. May Allah bless you with more knowledge .Have you considered the topic regarding Ism e Azam or the greatest name of Allah by which asked He gives. Hadhits often shed light on few names but I am keen as to what you can come up with. There is a chapter in Quran wherein the man got the throne of the Queen within seconds. JazakAllah waiting for a response. May Allah bless us all

This explanation raises many questions and increases confusion, if this was the case then why Musa alaihi Salaam complained. All humans are under Sharia law would this be allowed with out a trial. According to other similar stories in Quran this knowledgeable person was not a human he was a angel obedient to Allah. This story is revealed by Allah Almighty in His last testament to demonstrate how he runs the affairs of the world. The lesson and the guidance for us is if something tragic happens there is something good and better for us hidden init that we cannot perceive and prevents greater loss. That we should be patient and put trust in Allah.

My brother! You are making so many assumptions on the basis that the story that the books of Tafseer told us was correct!

@@MarvelousQuran This explanation is not based on any of the Tafsirs. It is based on Bani Israel and Musa alaihi Salaam stories mentioned many times in Quran. As everybody knows Bani Israel were persecuted by Ale Firoun. Bani Israel complained to Musa alaihi Salaam he advised establish Salat be patient and pray to Allah Almighty. Allah All-Wise assured Musa alaihi Salaam by demonstrating how he runs world's affairs and there is a wisdom and something good behind every unfortunate event. Similar to Hazrat Ibrahim alaihi Salaam in Surah Al-Baqrah were Allah demonstrates how he will bring dead to alive by four different birds. Also in same Surah Hazrat Uzair alaihi Salaam when he passes by a destroyed town. If one keeps whole of Quran specially stories of Bani Israel the purpose behind this story comes clear. Furthermore this angel did not eat or offered food to Musa alaihi Salaam and his companion. All other explanations don't clear all confusions and further raise many questions. Jewish narrations are misleading. Jazakallah khairan.

I hope you remain patient because we are revealing the concepts in a sequence to build on such concepts, one at a time.

Ahadees are also direct knowledge that has been given to Prophet Muhammed ‎ﷺ‎‬ by Allah ‎ﷻ‬ So any explanation given by Prophet Muhammed ‎ﷺ‎‬ for the stories of Quran will be also knowledge given to him by Allah. We should be careful when u make some statements..
Also i dont think its good idea to be refuting all the Scholars and thinking all of sudden a person knows better than anyone else..
Just like sheikh said, he thinks its so obvious then do u think they did not understand well.. those scholars who spent night and day in the service of deen..
i think it requires more research and better explanation..
there are places in Quran where Allah ‎ﷻ‬ said, u did not do it rather we did it..
    فلم تقتلوهم ولكن اللّه قتلهم
وما رميت إذ رميت ولكن اللّه رمى
Also if u look at previous Aya’s it does not show as if he previously planed these acts.. while they were traveling they came across this young man..
Its not like he had previously met his parents and they had already planned this..
Khizer was acting solely the knowledge Allah ‎ﷻ‬ had bestowed upon him..
This was the test of knowledge anyway.. thats the lesson Allah was teaching Musa AS..
