The modern family ruins father's day for Jay, and Jay wonders whether Gloria really loves him or has major daddy issues. #modernfamily #sitcom #comedy #jaypritchett
@Trinity M you know that mommy issues is a thing too, for males. Not everything is a gender thing trinity. Also if you didnt know its used to demean men who dont have good relationships with women. Gotta love the matriarchy.
@Trinity M girl. Chillax. Daddy issues are real and they can be positive or negative, clearly in Gloria's case it's a positive because she found a man who reminds her of her father and they are in love.
@trinitym5552 she has daddy issues, get over it. So do most modern women in the west. If you hate the patriarchy so much, go make your own matriarchal society. Those have definitely worked every time in the past, that's why they still exist today right?
@@lifemattersnot Listen bud, no. They don't. Some do. But it's not even remotely true that everyone does. That's some Siegmund Freud "I want to fuck my mom, therefore everyone wants to fuck their mother" type logic.
Cam's grandma died and his whole family hates Mitchell because they thought he had something to do with her dying and he accidentally came across as insensitive at the funeral. They think he hated the grandma because she was homophobic but Cam always gaslit him saying the grandma loved Mitchell. Later at Jay's house Cam gives both Lily and Mitchell things that were left to them by the grandma but he mixes up the bags. So initially Mitchell thinks he was left a really nice card/message from the grandma with a good gift but actually it was Lily's. When he opens his actual bag it has an old lipstick in it and the card reads something along the lines of 'you can use this like the sissy you are' from the homophobic grandma. Hence why Mitchell is annoyed here and decides to rub it in Cam's face that he was right all along lol, just really bad timing lmao 🙌🏽
Bruh. I dated someone for two years before I met her dad, and he looked EXACTLY like me. Same height, same beard, everything. It was eerie as Hell. We broke up not long after that.
@L Dragon Someone like me, who never had a father or a relationship that wasn't a scam artist trying to swindle me, and has such low expectations for women that even pretending to be a decent human being is sexy.
Gloria would simply say her daddy issues may play a part, but it's not the only/main reason she loves him... just like his money or just like her beauty. Their relationship is nonconventional but they do love each other very much. TBH They're probably the most compatible couple in the whole series lol.
This clip cements the fact that I have an issue with face blindness. Because I wouldn't have known that the picture and Jay looked alike. But apparently I am the only one.
He's referred to Manny waaayyy younger. The episode he fires an employee, Manny says he'll never speak to Jay until employee is hired back, even asking Mitchell to represent the case. Finally Jay says no one put my son or kid in danger. Another scene where they call Mitchell uptight for not liking pda and it's Jay's fault. Show ends with him tucking Manny in and kisses his hand to "kiss" Manny. Not to mention him sticking up to Javier for ghosting Manny and pretending he did come (limo); that episode manny was so rude. Jay treated him like son but didn't want to overshadow Javier too much- my opinion.
Agreed, 100%! Like he said before, he and Manny had their own thing. I always loved when he revealed that part of his problem with Javier coming around was that he didn’t like to be reminded that he wasn’t Manny’s “real” father. He was though. He may not have been his *biological* father, but he was definitely Manny’s real father and Manny acknowledged that.
It is pleasingly surprising that the character of Jay could be verbal about what he's feeling as he seem to be a representation of the typical traditional "man" who bottles everything inside and appears unaffected.
This. The show is about jay evolving and growing as a parent and personal and getting to grip with his emotions. Yep some people love the stoic repressed jay. Also Can't believe so many people misinterpreted the jay speech when his dad died, with so many saying it was great his dad taught him to suck it up in life,
The way claire looks at mitch and as she says “every relationship has its issues” lmaooo the small comedic details are what makes this show so hilarious
