Now we see players requesting trades non stop, continuous complaining to refs, being a cry baby and overinflating their overall worth.

Disagree that Schröder’s case is entitlement. Even if a $84M offer really happened (like you said, Schröder’s side of tne story is a bit different) - he just made a bad gamble, overestimated the PG free agency market this year and lost a ton of money. I’m not aware of Schröder ever complaining or blaming someone, so how is this entitlement?

Entitled: believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.
      You say "bad gamble".
This is a euphemism - a mild or indirect word or expression substituted for one considered to be too harsh or blunt when referring to something unpleasant or embarrassing.
      "Entitled" IS an "unpleasant/embarrassing label....

@@darrengordon-hill I don't disagree on your comment but based on your definition, over 1/2 of NBA players are 'entitled' if they don't accept the contract that was offered by the teams. All the female athletes are 'entitled' as they fight for equal pay.
What Schroder did was a business decision. He lost on that the decision he made. That is not entitlement. What Simmons did was not entitlement. He has mental issue that is hindering his ability to perform. You can call him weak minded, thin skinned, bad teammate, etc but entitled? No.
Harden, on the other hand, shows entitlement tendencies. He feels like he has the power to commend for a trade because his is James Harden. His attitude fits the definition perfectly.

So what if "1/2 of NBA players are "Entitled""?
      What if that's simply reality???
Part of "entitled" is "overestimating/overstating one's value".
He turned down $84mil with NO OTHER OFFERS... under belief he could generate "even more" (not even having that contract as a "safety net/backup" option).
      "Who has cap space?"
      "Whose roster do I fit?"
      "Are they rebuilding or contending?"
      THESE are things to consider...
NOT "I think I'm worth more than $84mil"

Out of these 3 players; one averaging a trade request per year, not hesitating to miss games or intentionally perform poorly to get his point across. Another one intentionally missing games and practice cause he didn’t want to show up to work anymore. And the last one Dennis Schroeder a man who if the contract rumours were true which he himself has denied, decided to bet on himself to get a better contract the following year and turned down the contract cause he thought he was worth more, in what universe is that entitlement? Did Schroeder act like a spoilt brat and miss games? Talk shit to the media? Whine and bitch saying he was worth more? Nah he kept to himself and worked to earn a better contract. Let me show you the definition again: feeling that you have the right to do or have what you want without having to work for it or deserve it, just because of who you are. My mans literally took a pay cut for the year to WORK and improve his stock so other teams would offer him more, he didn’t whine and bitch about the team lowballing him, he didn’t say anything about other teams needing to offer him more money, so where is your source from? I used to believe that these players were entitled too. What woke me up was this whole situation between Dame and the Blazers. Now I understand why Lebron did what he did and in return it created the Players empowerment. It made me realize that the majority of these owners dont care about winning championships. They just want the revenue. So what if an organization has a star player who feels that winning a championship is important but its not to the organization? Should that player just keep playing for the organization and hope that he can win a championship with whatever teammates he has, or should he leave and go play for an organization who does want to win a championship? Now when it comes to Dame, if you think that the Blazers have done everything in their power to get Dame in a position to help him win a championship, youre lying. He has been that organization's cash cow this whole entire time. Thats why its taking them so long to trade him. They need another cash cow to take Dame's place, so they can continue bringing in the revenue and not care about winning championships. So excuse these players for not allowing themselves to just be cash cows to these owners

You cant have your cake and eat it too. I have no issue with franchise players leaving their teams and entering a market. but being demanding about when and where you have to be traded and threatening to not play and kick up a stink if you go the a team you didnt want is entitlement imo

It’s only a business for teams, while the Players are expected to shut up and dribble. It’s horrible for Harden to demand 3 trades in 3 years but it’s ok for Westbrook to be trades 3x in 4 years, Luke Ridinour traded 3x in 1 year, and Sheed traded twice in a matter of days.
It’s ok to run players like Ben Simmons out of town but when players like Bron (the decision), KD, and Kawhi want to leave horrible franchises (look how awful those teams got the sec those players left) they are horrible ppl who get their jerseys burned in the street and destroyed by the media. It was ok for Tor to trade Derozan, who stated he wanted to retire a Raptor, for Kawhi to win a ring, but it was bad for AD to demand a trade to LAL to do the same.
I admit players, esp role players, complain way too much, but we are being hypocritical about the other stuff cuz teams are equally entitled.

The word Entitlement is incorrectly used in this video. Harden's demand for trade because he IS James Harden shows entitlement. His dissatisfaction with the money, GM or teammates are not. Those are business decisions.
As for Simmons and Schroeder, neither are showing entitlement attitudes. One has mental issue that prevents from performing while the other just made a poor business calculation. There are far better examples to pick from, like LeBron wanting to build his own team or KD who can only play with people he wants to play with. Those are far better athletes showcasing entitlement attitudes in the NBA.

Kyrie got away with it, Jimmy Butler got away with it, Anthony Davis got away with it, and we dont even have to go into James. The current business model of the CBA will not negate this. Still, it's a bit hypocritical that we have zero problem when a team treats players like assets to be traded or handled in any way they wish, but when a player isn't 'loyal' and wants to change team we have problem with that. The trade system is broken, because if a team doesn't want you, then they can send you wherever they like, something that kinda messes up a players life. I think trades is just a bad way to do business. Just have players to either play their contracts in full and then see if they get a good offer by a different team, or they can have their contracts bought out by a different team that wants them before they're free agents. This is a better way of doing things for me.

Here come the soft entitled fans trying to make excuses for soft entitled players that they like. I don't get that type of fandom. And I don't care how much of a business it is. Players acting like they don't care and not even moving their bodies on defense - looking at you James Harden and Lebron James - is disgusting. How you can take any players from this era, but a tiny handful, to be on the 75th anniversary team shows how badly Adam Silver has helped ruin the NBA. Because it IS ruined. When KD and the Thunder got beat by the Warriors and KD went and immediately signed with the Warriors, I knew it was a wrap as that was one of the most pu$$y things I've ever seen an NBA superstar do. And it's why his chips don't mean a damn thing to me. Giannis ONE ring with the Bucks means way more. And this era is why LBJ can never be on no GOAT lists or even no top 5 lists. He's not even the greatest at the position. Dudes don't even play defense or even TRY to play defense. It's horrible and it's why I don't watch the league anymore. Which is also why I don't buy into the BS narrative that "players from this era are more athletic and talented". BASED OFF WHAT? Inflated STATS???! For a guy like Harden who doesn't even MOVE HIS BODY on defense, to be on the 75th anniversary team was an absolute joke. They praise guys like Melo - who forced his way onto the Knicks even though it gutted them, never even tried to act like he wanted to win a ring and took a thousand shots a night, But guys like Giannis get downplayed.
