Not surprising. The only experts on racism are the white supremacists themselves.
Rachel Nichols was never a 'top sportscaste'r. She pushes radical left woke ideology identity politics and as we all know the left eat their own. She got labeled for fake racism and instead of understanding why it happened (Disney owns espn and they cant go after black people for fake racism claims, they have to bow down to the false claims so Rachel got the axe) she doubled down and continues to push that nonsense to this day on other platforms.
idk selling merch and not being able to pronounce the commisioner of the nfls name and the host of PTI just seems wrong. dirty.
As a black guy, personally i heard absolutely no racism in that clip and i stand by the point she made.
As a black man I didn’t hear racism either but as a BLACK MAN you should ask yourself why is this a topic why do blacks have to fight for jobs they can do just as good or better as other races that’s the real issue and it shouldn’t be a issue
@blackpanther3302 believe me I know about that, and even darker days are ahead, because they take a little more everyday. No one has mad any fuss about them doing away with affirmation action.
Good thing you don't speak for all black ppl 😂
Didn't they just dump Maria from the show anyway lol?
Not sure she is racist, but she didn't want to step down for her job as any normal person wouldn't.
The person they replaced her with is actually more racially driven than Nichols was......maybe that is what they wanted........
Huge fan of Maria Taylor & Rachel Nichols, fucked up of ESPN to create division between these 2 immensly talented journalists.
She stood her ground because she knew she had earned, and deserved, (oh and was contractually promised) the job of hosting the NBA Finals. She wasn’t going to stand aside and give up a hard earned career achievement and advancement so ESPN could say “Look, we promote diversity and we’re inclusive!” She didn’t care who the other person was in any way…she wanted what she had earned and was promised. Soooo many people of all races don’t hear any racism in her statements. ESPN is paying for what they’ve done….just look at the shape they’re in. People have shown what they think about what ESPN is promoting.

Foh no one wanted to see her there anymore, all you white boys love her now huh. The sport is dominated by black men yet all the reporters are white. Oh let me guess cause they're better than the black reporters right , cause the only way the black reporters can get a job is cause of affirmative action. How you racist think

All I got to say is shout out to Matt Barnes that dude is solid no matter what.
This is so shameful, they destroyed a credible and reputable reporter and used her as a pawn just to appear diverse and inclusive. I am appalled, this is so messed up, Rachel Nicole’s was legit. I grew up watching sports and couldn't live without watching ESPN, now i avoid it.
I agree. Started to watch in 1995 and it was great. Now it's a cesspool of wokeness.
I grew up watching ESPN. I had no idea whether or Dan Patrick, Chris Berman, Stuart Scott voted republican or democrat bc it didn’t matter. But For me the official, “jumping of the shark” is when they gave the Arthur Ashe Hero award, to a person that not only did not deserve in based on actions, but they also had nothing to do with sports. We are calling Kaitlyn Jenner, a hero yet there’s nowhere you can find anything sports related associated with Caitlyn Jenner. On top of that that person did nothing that warranted heroism. There were stories of Noah Galloway war hero that
created a fitness program after overcoming his addiction to Pills. Or the story of Lauryn Hill a 19-year-old girl, battling terminal brain cancer that still fulfilled her dream of playing college basketball. The executives at ESPN love the smell of their own farts and love patting each other on the back thinking how woke and special they are
SportsCenter was my nightlight for 20 years. Fall asleep to it, wake up to it hours later.

Rachel did nothing wrong, and they recorded her and that was the worst they could muster up? Rachel's biggest mistake was apologizing to the mob.
She alluded to the color of the other reporters skin, using the word "diversity". Is she a racist? Since Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson are standing up for her, I definitely believe she's not. Anybody working their dream job would have done the same as her. I real bad for her because she was very good at what she was doing.
the mob? is this the 90s?
@@lebronjamesharden3958different kinda mob but operating pretty much the same.
Ask any black woman how they feel about that. Y'all won't because you don't care and it doesn't affect you. What she said and things like it are extremely unprofessional and demeaning. How would you feel if someone said you only have the success you do because of the color of your skin. You all act like groups of people are mad over nothing.
@@akaInfamous lol good reach.. they're mad over nothing. It's Rachel was there first and deserved the spot she was in due to work over time she put in. Over time the other lady would've gotten her due just like how she jumped to NBC sports and got paid handsomely. Rachel didn't wanna lose her spot because the company wanted to hop aboard the "diversity train" just to make themselves look good and tick of some boxes.
And then think about how demeaning it is for Maria to get a promotion and it only being "well we need to put some more black people in prominent positions so you fit the bill. Here you go." Not because her skill or talent, but because the company wants to look good.
Also if the roles were reversed the internet would be outraged.
i wish she had not apologized. these celebrities could make a huge difference if they just said "i said what i said, i didn't say anything wrong, and i'm not going to apologize for the media twisting my words to suit their agenda." same thing w foxx and neyo
These corporations couldn't care less about equality or ethics. It's only when it affects their bottom line that they pretend to have epiphanies. It's a disgusting world.
I’ve listened to Rachael Nichols comments about Maria Taylor more than once, and I still don’t know what she said that was racist. The public blew this story way out of proportion.
Its what the diversity mob wants
Nah, ESPN blew it out of proportion!
ESPN tried to make Rachel look bad in order to keep Maria Taylor it backfired big time because Maria ended up leaving for NBC
Think about the time of when she said what she said in 2020-2021. More than COVID it was when BLM movement was a big thing in the country after George Floyd and other situations. Everyone was on their toes about everything. Even the Mahkia Bryant situation happened and Lebron jumped down the cops throat for no reason.

Rachael Nichols was great at her job... I liked the jump... stopped watching after this bs... she didn't even say anything wrong, imo. And look at espn today... i hope Nichols is laughing right now 😂😂
Lmao they really went from racheal nichols and Maria taylor to malika andrews
Kendrick Perkins literally said, on national TV, that Nikola Jokic gets MVPs because he's white. Did they fire him? Absolutely not. Compared to Rachel saying on a hot mic (not even televised) that ESPN hired someone because they're black. I just don't understand the double standard.
The worst thing about this is that it caused the rise of Malika Andrews, who is both bad at her job AND dehumanizes black men every chance she gets. Rachel never did that. She was always respectful and objective when I saw her.
So basically, the end of Nichols' tenure at ESPN is Andrews' villain origin story.
They recorded her without her consent, she obviously thought that she was in a safe space. Just a dirty tactic, if they can do that to her then they can do it to anyone.
The sad part she can’t even sue them because ESPN is a corporate entity that could easily bribe the judge and drop the case
I'm not sure this is true, her not giving consent. I say this because, if her privacy was indeed invaded, I'd assume this would lead to a criminal investigation, a wrongful termination case, etc
@FillyNilly how can you record someone without their consent?
@FillyNilly how can you record someone without their consent?
@@FillyNilly It did. She settled with ESPN out of court on that. I suspect the people in the bubble knew of some level of monitoring but...why was there audio? And why was it so deep into her space? You don't need to monitor what she does inside her room, just whether she's leaving. Putting the camera right by the door would have been enough--no need to have video and audio (what does that do?) anywhere else inside her room.
Both Nicholas & Taylor are extremely talented. It’s really stupid ESPN screwed them both over, but it even better both exited the network
Taylor is much more beautiful than Rachel!
@@Landis_Grant What's that got to do with anything? That has nothing to do with what's being disscussed here. By the way, Rachel is not a bad looking woman either, for whatever that's worth.

She’s a wonderful lady and very well respected and loved by nba players. She’s far from being a racist
DO U KNOW HER personally?
Rachel Nichols was the best thing to happen to ESPN and they f'd it all up. Her tribute to Kobe was so sincere and heartfelt. She had sit down interviews with so many big names and with her style of communication they were able to talk candidly about touchy subjects, instead of getting into confrontations that ultimately gives us no perspective. Nichols was a great reporter and deserved to be hosting NBA finals after 30 years in the business. ESPN did her dirty, and they're getting what they deserved with the Malika Andrews fiasco.
That's a lie

She’s mostly did college football when was at ESPN, she’s currently on NBC doing the pregame show of Sunday night football
Well done! You did a great job covering this story. My heart goes out to Rachel Nichols. Awesome talent.
This clears up a lot of questions I had about this situation. Great work.
You do such a great job on these dude
Appreciate it bro 🙏
Bro shading lebron and Adams 🤣🤣🤣
But on a serious note ESPN fumbled the bag with Rachel Nichols and she did nothing but say the truth
Maria Taylor is also talented- she was on the SEC good ole boy network- they did not complain- that is why NBC hired her.
ESPN basically blackballed Rachel Nichols because they were desperate to keep Maria Taylor it an shame cause I love ESPN but now the network is the butt of all jokes
I wonder what the legal limitations are for having cameras and open mics in every room for fully grown adults
A good question. "They agreed to it" doesn't work if it's coerced or framed as part of the employment, I think. If your boss said "I'm putting cameras inside the bathrooms so I can watch all the female employees in there, quit if you don't like it," it wouldn't fly. It would be discrimination, sexual harassment, etc. You can't just wave that away with "you consented" because that's how we get these sorts of abuses in the first place.
Dirtyyyyy!!!!! Great info and perspective....keep it up!
Those espn cross tees go HARD
Fk espn
Rachel is not racist, it was just an awkward situation. It did highlight the struggle of inclusion; sometimes its going to hurt a few for the greater good of progress. As for Maria Taylor, she does her job she's cool. What she's worth not up to me. And ESPN, 🤷🏾♂️ why go through all that drama?
because you obviously cant have both a white and black woman hosting the nba finals....
"It did highlight the struggle of inclusion; sometimes its going to hurt a few for the greater good of progress."
I don't think you realize how you just revealed how dark that ideology really is and can be and HAS been throughout history. All in the name of "progress." Real inclusion would not have innocent victims being taken out "in the name of progress". An immature and self righteous ideology that could go to very dark places under the right circumstances is the only type of ideology that could be so comfortable saying what you just said, but still thinking it's a "positive" thing and that there's not something very wrong with it already.
Maria Taylor left ESPN LMAO shes on another station anyway
No "progress" for the "greater good" occurs when one employee is asked to step aside because of her race to make way for someone else because of her race...and then when the employee asked to step aside says "no", record her without her knowledge, and fire her for comments that weren't even racist. That wasn't "progress", and no "greater good" was served. It was wrong to treat Nichols that way. It stunk to high heaven, and asking her to step aside was racist in itself.
I like these videos. Keep up the great content.
Nice work, very nice...you got my sub for this one. I've always admired and respected Rachel, she kept it real while being profesionally at the same time. Needless to say, they did her dirty. As for ESPN, I used to never get enough of it back in the day but now I hardly watch or go to their website anymore.
The fact that ESPN is now pushing the feminist monster known as Malika Andrews is really a joke.
She’s the liberal version of Sage Steele 😂😂😂
Great video
It was interesting how people at the time were moaning and complaining about Rachel Nichols, and wanting to give her well earned opportunities to Maria Taylor. Taylor didn’t even have the balls to stick around.
I unfairly judged Rachel when I heard the leak the first time. ESPN is falling in a bad spiral
We throw the word racist around so easily now, people don't know what it actually means anymore
I know racists when I see them. Rachael ain't no Racist.
Here is the problem. Rachael has that look that Black Men like (voluptuous features). NBA players must have been praying to be interviewed by her. I'm thinking Taylor threw Rachael under the bus cause she was jealous. Rachael deserves the Finals, especially since it was in writing. You shouldn't be promoted because of social pressure. Black people hate when it's done to us and it's done to us a lot! It shouldn't be done vice versa.
ESPN killed themselves when they switched Sports Center to short skirt and ball room fashion show. What happened to a person's privacy? Spying?
Well done
She should never have apologizes. Apologized for what?
Jump was the best show on ESPN, great topics and even greater co-hosts and guests.
When I think of NBA media the first people that come to mind are Skip and Shannon, Barkley, Shaq and Ernie, and Steven A. It's pretty diverse. Why the need to intentionally make it more so? Just give the best person the job.
As a person who vented a TON about my job, glad none of them were recorded.
This issue is important and I thank you for putting together a fine documentary on .. Yes, a set-up. Rachel was great at NBA reporting. Hey Maria is very attractive, but that's not everything especially when watching sports as the topic.
Don’t use what others did to discredit Maria, this situation sucks for both not just Rachel

Poor ethics aside, stop apologizing to the people. Own it, double down but never relent if you aren’t actually doing what you’re being accused of!
This is part of why I won't watch ESPN. I'll never watch any network that hires Malika Andrews. Maria Taylor was a fool to think she was going to get Steven A Smith money though lol. She wasn't worth Rachel Nichols money.

I didn’t like Rachel in her role on ESPN, however, the campaign against her and releasing of her private conversation was bogus. I rarely watch ESPN anymore because I don’t like Kendrick Perkins or Malika Andrews. Also, Stephen A can be annoying sometimes with his yelling. Glad Skip brought her back.
I agree with you on this but every time someone brings up “mainstream media” and “they don’t talk about this” “go see Sound of Freedom or you’re a ped” makes me laugh
They need diversity because the vast majority of professional sport athletes are black
As a black man she did insinuated highly racist mind set. Jealously
Crazy part is ESPN has been down the toilet lately, having to lay off half their reporters
She should sue ESPN
I love the video Bro
Thanks man
that leak was absolutely nothing. She basically just said, "I'm under contract, don't be taking that away from me". Nothing racist about it. Anyone that gets an opportunity IN WRITING, they're not gonna give that up. Why would they?
I think it's absolutely insane to think Maria expected that kind of money. That's some major narcissism there, I don't think she was worth what even Rachel was making. What's worse is, coming from a black woman, Maria was completely willing to take work away from someone else. She would essentially be doing the very thing she's against.
The fact Malika Andrews replaced Rachel initially, that's wild. She's been an absolute terror when it comes to her hate of black men, OPENLY on air.
I hope Rachel is doing alright.
They really disrespected Rachel those final years, money wise too
“Pa-ta-mac” Maryland lol
She should sue for wrongful termination.
how is this not getting views?
Na if she was racist, she'd still be at espn.
She should never have apologized.
I honestly did not know about the maria Taylor negotiation. Did she really think she deserved "Stephan A Money?" I never even heard of you until the whole scandal. Back up sit down. Rachel is an OG in Sports. She's talented, well-versed, and knowledgable. I shouldn't even have to say that because she's always been that good. SHE deserved that 5mil, and if anyone would get the Stephan A money, it would be her. Man that wrinkle there just made menot like this whole thing even more.
And now both of Nichols and Taylor are gone from ESPN, which were the only two obstacles for Malika Andrews to rise into her spot shes reveling in now.
Rodger Good-dale lmao 😂😂😂😂 6:02
Man, there's a reason I don't watch ESPN anymore, and this only solidifies my stance. Totally disgusting. For the record, I'm not overly impressed with Maria Taylor's response either.
I make an effort to watch other broadcasts other than ESPN because of what they did to Rachel Nichols and having Malika Andrew’s as a journalist
I stand by my opinion to this day. As a black person I can't find anything she said to be racially charged at all, she was told she was going to be replaced and saw her career going out the window for some 'good pr' for ESPN she was literally a martyr for a corporation and didn't want to lose the largest moment of her 30 year career so a corporation could look good.
Am black an I am proud an too be honest I don't see the racism.
we have all been screwed by an employer ... Rachel now stands beside the rest of us... fortunately, if she is as legit as i think she is, she will land squarely on her feet
She went wrong when she apologized for saying nothing wrong.
The real ESPN mystery is how Stephan A Smith still has a job.
As a black American man I find it highly disrespectful to those that laid their lives on the line to get an undeserved opportunity only because I’m black. Thats not what it was for!
Amen to that!
I didn’t know about this. Done with ESPN.
By the way ESPN is in the gutter.
