If he can average 25+ in at least 70 games played over the next 2 seasons (3500 points) then in the 3rd season he'll get to 40k if he averages 13.8 ppg over the span of 82 games. Also in that second season he'll pass Kareem (he's only 3020 points away). He'll more than likely reach 10k rebounds and assists this season if he grabs as many boards and gets as many assists as he did last season when he only played 45 games
To simplify, LeBron is 4633 points away from 40k, if he averages 18.83 ppg over the next 246 games (3 full seasons), he'll reach 40k. So basically he's reaching 40k lol

The reason I have a lot of hope for LeBron's longevity and him staying out of injuries is because most of these injuries have been contact injuries they haven't been with Like with Anthony Davis that he just lands Ambi as a torn Achilles It's somebody hits and his body
gets hurt
AD didn’t tear his Achilles. He just had tendonosis and a calf strain, but your point still stands. Guys like AD are much more fragile and get those kinds of non-contact injuries. Fortunately, Lebron hasn’t had many of those throughout his career so hopefully he can have a healthy last few years
See Lebron was smart he spent millions yearly on taking care of his body he could perhaps beat Father Time lol
He's gonna continue playing until he posterizes Bronny

To me I put it safely at he’s playing 50 games per season at about 20 points per game, and that gives him 4000 more points easily. I drop it that little because I expect him to at least WANT to skip back to backs and stuff like that, and the schedule itself might drop 10 or 15 games moving forward. Plus I drop his scoring just to be a safety net for things like Russ, injuries and age, with an inevitable decline coming sometime within that 4 years, where we could see him being an 18 or so ppg player and fully moving into. And I really can’t see him playing more than 4 years. No way he plays 5 or something crazy, and even 4 is a stretch to me.

i think it dosen't matter how long it takes, he will play until he reaches it, he has the longevity to do it.... I think
I agree, I mean unless some freak injury happens that cuts his career a couple years short but I doubt it. I think he’ll start to have more and more injuries going forward obviously but they’ll prolly be minor ones. He’s proven how durable he is. I mean dude was in the finals like 8 or 9 years straight and I know that had to take its toll cus the deeper you get into the playoffs every year the less time you have to rest in between each season
Here after he passed 36,000 against the Rockets 🔥
who's here after lebron's dropping 27 a game
idk this last seasons injury was literally a freak accident where another player fell on top his ankle it's not like hus ankle just gave out
That's EXACTLY what im saying. they keep on being like "he's old" but it's not like his ankle gave out
I agree with his final year being a farewell year being about his retirement AS LONG as they’re not contenders, Kobe’s last year the Lakers were a shit show, but if Bron knows he can compete for another ring I definitely see him averaging 23+
He did it!!!!
Lol it's 2023 and he's averaging 30 ppg
Well he’s looking like he’s gonna get to 40k easily
This highly underestimates the capabilities of LeBron. Bro scored 30ppg at 37 years old and we're still getting crack heads yelling "cliff."
the thing is lebrons most recent injury was not due to him getting older and his body breaking down. it was caused by another player falling on him. i feel like that is pretty important to mention.
The answer is a resounding YES!
Can’t even imagine a league without him
It really depends when he hits 'the wall', and if he chooses to retire, or continue with a diminished role. You never know when a player will hit 'the wall', but it's inevitable. We saw Duncan hit it in the middle of 2016, no injuries or anything, he just wasn't as good as he was even at the beginning of the season. His absurdly slow, graceful decline instantly took a dip to role player caliber, despite playing like a load managed Tim Duncan just months prior.
Kareem seemed to hit it the moment he hit 40, and retired after that. Only Karl Malone has really been a great player all the way to 40 without outlier shooting, height, and BBIQ. LeBron has great BBIQ, but I only think that goes so far as a scorer. He doesn't have crazy height, length, or shooting, skills and traits he will not be able to rely on as he approaches 40. Like Karl Malone, his strength will age well too, and he's going to get more creative with how he uses it. My personal opinion is that the moment LeBron attacking the rim is no longer a net positive option, he's not scoring more than 18 points a game. He can still thrive as a net positive player as a playmaker and passable shooter, but he'll really have to adjust to being the third option.
When that happens, we'll have to see, because we've never seen a LeBron that wasn't super ball dominant. I personally think he MIGHT hang on until Bronny can become a one-and-done, but I don't see LeBron as someone willing to tarnish his legacy for the love of the game or chasing the record books at less than 1000 points a season.
Bro. You saying Lebron can't score 3000 more points? That is 1500 in two more seasons. Or 1k for 3 seasons!
As on 31-12-2021,
LBJ is running fine with 36038 points (890 points behind melone & 2349 points behind Kareem)
With no serious injury LBJ is going to finish this season with around 37200 ponts (23-24 PPG)
In 2022-23 he will surpass Kareem & if he remains healthy he'll reach 40000 in less than 2 upcoming season.

Can’t see him continuing after that though but I guess if anybody could do it it would be lebron. I don’t think he’ll be the type of dude to keep playing even when he’s washed and can only score 10-15 ppg, I feel like if he feels himself decline big time and can’t play at an elite level anymore he’ll retire.
