  • I am building an L28 280Z engine for my 1973 Datsun 240Z. In this video I pull the old engine and tear down the one to be rebuilt. I will be measuring the crankshaft and the bore to assess the condition. Part 2 is the rebuilding of the short block and Part 3 completes the assembly including hearing the new engine run.

    I honestly can’t recall how many of those Nissan/Datsun in line 6 cyl engines I’ve rebuilt. They’re a solid motor. Make sure you check the aluminum head for warping. 👍🏻

    As usual, great video Dick. May have asked you this before but were you a tool and die maker in your other life?? You got the measuring tools... and you know how to use em. Looking forward to whatever's next.
