are you planning to do a video on setting up TMS for messaging other radios? looks like a great tactical advantage to text message other radios without using a repeater. I'm still looking it up, but unfortunately I dont have another radio to test with.
I do have a video for setting up TMS on the XTS radios. If you mean group texting, no, as I havent been able to figure that out or even if it possible. the TMS seems to be p2p.
If you sourced it "out there online somewhere" it probably came with a cr... "modified" PatPortDepot.exe file. Replace the one in C:\Program Files (x86)\Motorola\ASTRO 25 Products\ASTRO 25 Portable Depot\ with it.
@@coreybabcock2023 its always a good idea to read, and save a radio’s tuning file with Astro Tuner. It’s one of the first things I do when getting a new radio. I haven’t had a radio wipe its tuning from s firmware update but its good to have the parameters saved just in case.

@@firstmighk you are right that he mentioned bluemax. I am assuming he has the USB FTDI to xts. I have the DB9 to xts for an xts3000. It didn't work. The depot software says activating SRIB but it doesn't continue and progress is stuck in activating srib.
@@ag5150n Sorry, missed the notification, but to follow-up for anyone coming back to this: I was able to program my XTS5000s with the BM49ers cable, but flash upgrade with Depot failed. I ended up purchasing a legit Motorola RKN4105A cable, and everything worked. Hope this helps save someone a bruised forehead down the road! 🤕

What’s the purpose of flash code .. ? Would it be to reset a Radio That’s in Trunking mode or vise versa .. to Conventional programming.

Any chance you know of a firmware file that includes fpp?
I dont know when exactly fpp was implemented in the FW but if you have anything R12 or newer it should be capable.

Did you use a SRIB? Will a rs232 to radio cable work?
It seems like he was using a normal cable. I'd like to know as well is a SRIB is or isn't required.

srib not requires for Astro25 line. You are thinking of the Astro Saber/XTS3000 line and below. Astro25 (XTS1500/2500/5000/4000) no srib
