A brilliant explanation of transitioning to the next level in painting from a learner to making it your own creative masterpiece. Thank you for sharing this key to growth & your beautiful painting, Liron!
Your videos are always such a feast of knowledge and wisdom. Thank you for all you do for the watercolor community and sharing your talent.
Thank you so so much 🙏🏼😊 Very happy with how this painting (and lesson!) turned out
Thank you for this amazing tutorial! I appreciate how often you remind to simply do what feels good in the moment to the eye! The eye knows what is needed!
Indeed 😁🙏🏼 Thank you for watching
Love hearing your thought process for a full painting. There’s so much knowledge and wisdom in this. I didn’t know you’ve been painting for 8 years. Seems like you’ve been painting for decades. You definitely show how watercolor can be mastered in a short time if you put in the work to learn. Thank you for sharing your time with us. ❤
Thank you Jacqueline 🙏😊 I think 8 years is a really long time haha 😂
I could see mastery coming after a few years only, too
With that, I feel like I have a little more to go to get there truly and fully (which is good news, because there's a future result of mine that if I see today - will blow me away!)
@@LironYan yes! The future you is even more awesome! 😊
Your philosophy of painting is inspiring and encouraging.
Thank you 😊🙏🏼
Great work Liron! 👏 I love watching you paint... there's no mistakes. You visually make it all come together. Ty 😊
Thank you Theresa 😊🙏🏼🙏🏼
Loved this! Thanks for articulating the bridge between learning technique and just painting. ❤Loved the painting, too.
Thank you so so much ☺
I love your style and philosophy. Your instruction is pleasurable and makes me want to paint…in fact that’s what I’m going to do right now, thank you.
Awesome! This makes me very happy 😁🙏🏼 Thank you
I agree! This is my first video I found from this channel and the instruction is so reassuring!! ❤
I LOVE what you're doing!
Guten Tag from Kiel, Germany ❤
What a lovely explanation! Thank you again for sharing this. The green thing … looks like a kabocha squash. They are so yummy!
Thank you
Thanks for sharing this. It's just what I needed to see, not to worry about the end result while painting 😊
Bold, daring, and NOT a precise copy of the reference photo... which I'm guilty of attempting. 😮 Fanstastic video, Sir! Learning soooo much here!!!
Thank you so much 😁 So happy to hear this was useful! 🙏
Your painting is very beautiful and attractive, I really like it🤩
Thank you so so much! 🙏😊
Thank you so much for this! I've been trying to follow "the right process" for watercolor and came to the same conclusion about doing what works for the painting and for me. It is really nice to have you confirm that it's ok to do it differently!
So glad to hear 🙏😊 Thank you for watching
Grazie mille 🤩
🙏😊
Yes, good combination of observation and intuition!
Your a great colourist and you appear to have a really strong understanding of mix strengths.
Thank you! Funny enough, colors in general have been my weak spot for a long time now.
But I think I'm starting to crack the code (:
Thank you so much for reinforcing not making yourself use techniques that don't work for you - i am trying to learn watercolor and i keep ending up in that problem! Im used to acrylics 😂
Your explanation of how you do this and how you think of it is so helpful. Thank you! 🙏
So happy this helped! Thank you 🙏😊
The best "technique" is what you most naturally want to do, on a moment by moment basis (:
Just bought your books
Thank you so so much 🙏🏼❤️ I really appreciate it
The bright green highlight makes the painting for me.
Thank you ☺️🙏🏼 One of my favorite spots
love it
Thank you 🙏😊
Thanks for this. Do you also like to use gouache?
I barely use gouache (: Only for small highlights here and there
(using Designer's Gouache by Winsor & Newton). In this one though, I don't think I have.
I do use a lot of watercolors that are more on the opaque side.
‘Notice your own painting”. Yes. It’s so easy to get lost in how you’re painting, as compared to the reference, that you can’t see the good work you’re in the process of doing. It’s refreshing to hear a teacher encouraging self expression. Rare on you-tube. Also, thanks for saying that you don’t know why for some things. Art should be a combo of thinking and feeling, but can’t always be rationalized.
Thank you so much for the kind words 🙏😊
I try to show it as-it-is as much as possible (:
Art is often put into concepts, ideas, techniques and more. But these will always be partial, poor representations of reality, which is much grainier and messier.
Looks like Michael Solevyev brushes. Have you tried the Baohong paper yet?
The large bamboo one at the start is indeed a Michael Solovyev brush! I have used Baohong paper before and liked it a lot. Here’s is a painting I really like done on their rough paper:

I ordered some - how do you like it? I ordered a roll of hot press.
I personally loved Baohong (: @@8nin827
WHAT IS THIS BRUSH? someone gotta tell me
The first bamboo one? It's a Michael Solovyev brush!
I believe it's the same as in this set:

thank u bro, love the aesthetic of it@@LironYan
It's also super comfy and useful 😁 @@bigolebuddeh5266
