  • Elizabeth Barraza lived with her husband Sergio in the Tomball, Texas. In 2019, Elizabeth was up early setting up a garage sale, as their 5 year anniversary was fast approaching. However, early that day someone approached Elizabeth. This was all caught on CCTV, however it remains and unsolved case to this day.

      I know.
I really like the fact that Mike has strayed away from covering unsolved cases for the most part, unlike in the early days.
(Not that there is anything wrong with that and some people love unsolved.
I will always support TC even if the videos were blank static for 20 minutes.)
      It's not my channel.
I love his content, all of it. But it's disappointing to have little to no resolution, for me anyway.
If I recall correctly, the only unsolved cases he's done for quite some time were very interesting and/or were only unsolved if you really squinted or in the sense that no arrests had been made or the person only escaped capture by being in a pine box.
The exception is this case, although there isn't a whole lot to talk about or speculate on, I commend Mike and thoroughly enjoyed knowing the amount of additional eyes and attention this will bring to the case and given what a kind woman and trooper she is presented as being, I'm all for it.
Good on ya Mike. Another grand video. I'm petitioning for all use of the word great to be replaced by "Grand"
I would also love a compilation video covering any updates
I'm also going to use this comment as my ongoing petition to get more Irish slang into the intro/outro or whole video if appropriate.
Does Mike still/ever lived in Ireland and from what county is his accent from?
As always, thanks for the content Mike.

There are some hard truths about the Liz Barraza case that no one else mentions, so take it or leave it. Liz's parents and subsequently the media and those who create videos on the topic make Liz out to be a saint who had no enemies, neither of which is true. She was a flawed human being, as we all are. She had enemies, even Sergio, her husband, admitted when he was initially questioned at the scene of the crime. So, WHY do Sergio and her parents LIE about it now? Why make her out to be someone who walked on water when she didn't? That's not going to help solve the mystery.

Those garage sale hunters are nuts! That's how they find their goodies. But the fact that this victim hadn't even hung her signs out yet makes me really REALLY positive that the suspect not only knew her, but knew she'd be where she was at the time. How else can that be? No gang initiations are going to take place in a quiet neighborhood where everyone is presumed to be sleeping. And even of it was an initiation, why drive the neighborhood the day before? They'd have no clue she'd be outside in her driveway that early. I just CAN'T believe that there's been no movement on this case in nearly 3 years! Frustrating. There was a guy, shot in broad daylight in the street behind me a few years ago, in front of his house in the driveway, in our otherwise peaceful neighborhood. Seemed similar to this case, looked like there was no motive for the hit, nothing in his background either. Recently we found out that, I guess, the true target was either similar looking or had same name but lived in West rd address and the street behind me is the East but with same name and house number. Turns out it was a case of mistaken identity, the true target was set to testify in some criminal trial as a witness for prosecution, I think.

To be honest, considering the incredibly small window of opportunity, to the point that it seems methodically planned, and my assumption that the police force would pursue this avenue first, apparently coming up with no evidence of premeditation, I'd say she was a target of opportunity. I mean obviously it *LOOKS* like a hit for some reason or another. Execution style, no robbery or forced entry, stayed off the cameras, and the murderer was gone as quick as they came. But i have a HUGE problem with the one fact that the police say the suspect returned and make the claim it was a hitman coming back to confirm. If this was a hit, that was a professional hitman (or the luckiest), and a professional hitman is NOT going to drive right by the crime scene in the same vehicle. HOWEVER, i think she was, unfortunately, simply a target of opportunity. Tomball is a quaint suburban town, low crime and more lax law enforcement than an urban center, factors a serial killer would account for a good location. This vehicle drove by before and after, likely looking for a target the first pass, finding poor Elizabeth in the wrong place and wrong time the second time, and returning the third time to extend the thrill. Its common knowledge among police that perpetrators often return to the scene, particularly when motivated by psychotic or sexual behaviors, because in their haste to escape they didn't really "experience" their crime. No hitman worth his salt is going back to the scene, and no hitman dumb enough to go back is evading capture this long. I'd agree someone with inside knowledge is the most obvious and likely culprit, but barring that the next most likely is this. The person who murdered her has probably done this before, and will again, in different vehicles and different states, with the same MO of targeting a quiet town and seeking a target of opportunity to murder.

I mean, look at the Golden State Killer (yes i know his name, his name can be forgotten), he began with the same style of modus operandi: quiet suburb, early morning after husbands left for work, targets of opportunity. GSK was at large for *decades*. The police even had DNA evidence, because at the time of his crimes DNA evidence didnt really exist for him to worry about, and it *still* was mere chance they caught him finally. Someone with the same mindset as GSK, in today's age of forensics, i see this murder as exactly what that breed of serial killer would do.

I have read all of his statements regarding her murder. The soft language and minimization he uses are interesting. Not once has he mentioned the word "murder" in any of his statements, but the father has. He has used " passed away" to describe her death, but never "murdered" in which she was. People with guilty knowledge will minimize the crime committed to hide from the truth. Scott Peterson never used the word "murder" until the interviewer introduced it in the interview. Not once has Sergio called to the killer to come forward and turn himself or herself in for the crime committed. He never mentions the word "killer" or anything close to that word. It is always "someone" or "person", etc. In one of his statements, he said that only a few people knew about the garage sale and that he "barely knew about it". It was for their anniversary, so how is it possible that the husband would barely know about her plan to raise money for the trip? Not once does he show anger or disgust towards the person who killed her. He would rather sermonize about how life has its mystery, but not one plea to the killer or killers to turn themselves in. For an innocent person, there are a lot of signs of guilty knowledge present.

Here were hearing about how much of a fan girl she was of Star Wars and Harry Potter, how she would go visit the sick in hospital as a stormtrooper to make them smile. Doing cute things like personalizing luggage to resemble that from Harry Potter. Idk it just adds a more emotional tinge because these details indicate she was a harmless, fun, lovely and kind person.
