  • I shoot 100 Free Throws, with one twist. Every time I miss, I have to run a kilometer. Also, after 5 misses, I have to spin the wheel and do a challenge while I run the kilometer. I end up running 20+ miles in this one. It's a lot of fun. If you have any challenge ideas for me, let me know! Thanks for watching! :)

Man i need to get on your level. I walked 8 miles the other day and my legs were completely cooked. Was wondering when your next video was gonna be :P

8 miles is a lot! Trust me, I was pretty cooked after this one too😅 I was walking around like an old man the day after. And yeah, this one was a bit different. Tried to make something more interesting & something that I think will perform better on CZcams? We shall see lol. Thanks for watching!

Report on Improving Free Throw Performance Through a Consistent Shooting Motion!
    Introduction
A free throw in basketball is one of the simplest yet crucial shots, performed under consistent conditions without defensive pressure. Despite this, maintaining a high free throw percentage can be challenging due to various mechanical and psychological factors. One common issue observed in players is an interruption in their shooting motion, particularly a pause at the top of the shot. This report examines the impact of such a pause on free throw performance and provides recommendations for developing a fluid, consistent motion to improve accuracy.
    Observations and Analysis
    Current Free Throw Routine
    1. **Pre-shot Routine**: The player follows a consistent pre-shot routine, which may include dribbling the ball a certain number of times, setting their feet, and taking a deep breath.
    2. **Shooting Motion**: After completing the pre-shot routine, the player begins their shooting motion but pauses briefly at the top before releasing the ball.
    Impact of the Pause
    1. **Mechanical Disruption**: The pause introduces a break in the kinetic chain of the shooting motion. A fluid motion ensures that energy generated from the legs travels through the body and culminates in a smooth release. Pausing disrupts this transfer of energy, potentially leading to less control and consistency in the shot.
    2. **Muscle Tension**: The pause can cause muscles to tense up, particularly in the arms and shoulders, which should remain relaxed for a smooth shot. This tension can negatively impact the release and trajectory of the ball.
    3. **Rhythm and Timing**: A consistent rhythm is crucial for muscle memory and shooting accuracy. Pausing disrupts this rhythm, making it harder for the player to develop a reliable shooting form.
    4. **Psychological Effect**: The pause can create hesitation and overthinking, increasing pressure and anxiety. A fluid motion, by contrast, promotes confidence and focus.
Recommendations for a Fluid Shooting Motion
    1. **Continuous Motion**: Encourage the player to transition smoothly from their pre-shot routine into the shooting motion without pausing. The motion should flow seamlessly from the dribble to the set position, through the bend of the knees, and into the upward shooting motion.
    2. **Focus on the Legs**: Emphasize the importance of using the legs to generate power. The shot should begin with a bend in the knees, and the upward motion should be continuous, with the legs driving the energy up through the body.
    3. **Arm and Hand Mechanics**: The shooting hand should follow through in a fluid motion without stopping. The wrist should snap smoothly as the ball is released, ensuring a consistent follow-through.
    4. **Mental Routine**: Develop a mental routine that reinforces fluidity. Visualization techniques can help the player imagine a smooth, unbroken shooting motion, reducing the likelihood of hesitation.
    5. **Drills and Practice**: Implement drills that focus on continuous motion. For example, practice shooting free throws with a one-dribble, immediate-shot technique to reinforce fluidity. Record the player's shots to provide visual feedback and highlight the benefits of a seamless motion.
    6. **Breathing Techniques**: Incorporate breathing exercises to reduce tension. Teach the player to take a deep breath before beginning their shooting motion and exhale smoothly as they release the ball.
    Conclusion
A fluid and consistent shooting motion is critical for improving free throw percentage in basketball. The observed pause in the player's motion disrupts the mechanical and psychological aspects of the shot, leading to decreased accuracy. By emphasizing continuous motion, proper mechanics, and mental focus, the player can develop a more reliable and effective free throw technique. Regular practice and positive reinforcement of these principles will help the player build muscle memory and confidence, ultimately leading to higher free throw success rates.

With this, you can have a better free throw percentage than Ben Wallace!!!

I definitely do have a mechanical disruption in my shot though, that’s gotta be a big part of my issue. I really appreciate your thorough analysis my boy.
