- Video of how my day went at the Bournemouth Brick Festival.
Selling my Lego investment sets a large Lego fair.
It was a very busy day, but definitely worth it.
Great video. I enjoyed the tour.
Many thanks
I’ve just subscribed, you popped up on my timeline for May 4th in Southampton, where I live too! Really enjoyed Bournemouth event though wished there was more MOCS to inspire children on what can be achieved. Keep up good work
Thanks Tim. The Brick Festivals are great - I'm off to another one in Weston super Mare this Sunday, so just preparing for it now. Hopefully there will be a good selection of MOCs at future events.
I see you took Mr Happy assistant who hates the camera...good to see you sold one of the Fenwicks set's :)
I couldn't do it without Antony. He is very camera shy.
very enjoyable video Iain, great to be able to see round the Fair and I am really glad you did well, you have a skill for creating a great display, the presentation is superb
Thanks Paul, that's much appreciated.
Yayy you showed my giant minifigure!!! Thank you! Also I bought the Lego house gwp from you! I just finished building it thank you!!
Ah! That was your giant minifigure - very impressive. And thanks for buying the Lego House GWP. 😁
Brilliant video giving a true insight to what you do rough regards to the shows.
Thanks Trevor. I've done a few of these now so I'm starting to get used to how it all works now.
Bournemouth Brick Festival was great for me too. It was great seeing you there, you are even more friendly in person. Which show are you going to next?
Thanks. It was a really good event. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Next up Milton Keynes Brick Festival at the end of March.
Glad you did so well Iain, was really nice to meet you. Hopefully see you again, Alfie
Thanks Alfie. Really nice to meet you too.
Gratz on the sales! Always like your vids but especially these as they give an insight what it is like to sell at fairs, appreciate you share the experience with us man.
No problem. Thanks for watching
0:52 That Tie Pilot helmet is doing nicely! Lol nice pick. Also great video i am going to sub
Many thanks. I did sell the Tie Fighter Helmet in the end.
Glad to hear you had good sales. It's a struggle here to sell anything. Look forward to the update of what type of sets sold.
Another great video, really enjoy the coverage of these events and to see how well your sales go during the day.
Thanks. I do like playing at shopkeeper for the day!
Good to see that you had quite a successful day.
I liked those Muppets displays you showed that were next to your tables, though they didn’t have one on my favourite part of the Muppet Show which was Pigs In Space.
Thanks Barry. Those displays next to me were amazing - so much thought and detail. I'd forgotten about Pigs in Space! Lol
Such a quick upload. Thanks Iain 👏👏👏👏
Nice local event, so I got home early.
Nice to see you as always, glad you had a good day 🤓
Thanks Sarah. I thoroughly enjoyed this event - I think I'm getting the hang of this 'selling Lego' thing now! 🤣 Great to see you there too. Hope you had a good day as well.
Well done Iain, glad it went well and you managed to sell lots!! Still gutted I couldn’t be there selling, but as you know family comes first!! I’m looking to do a coupon of the other ones nearer me and like you got a few little festivals to do even closer to me in the next few months.
Still amazes me with the current living crisis, how much mo et is still about … just shows the attraction Lego has!! Speak soon and look forward to the next video!!
Thanks Lee. You're right, family does come first - Hope everything is ok. Even in a cost of living crisis, there will always be people that have spare money to buy things they like / want. I'd like to think my prices are fairly competitive as well though
Really nice video Iain. Love visiting these kind of events, hope to have a stand of one of them in the near future. Just have to get more inventory for selling and the we are good to go :)
Thanks Peter. Definitely worth having a go sometime soon. It's quite a lot of work preparing for these but in my opinion it's definitely worth it.
Must be a feeling when all the investment pays off! Congrats
It is nice to sell my investment sets, even some if them are sets I never actually got to build myself.
These are definitly my favorite type of video's 😀
Thanks. Glad you enjoy them.
love these videos! would love a bit at the end with a list of what sets you actually sold :)
Thanks. I'll do a separate video in a few days going through the sets I sold.
I love it I’ve been thinking of doing a small local festival myself but have nt got up the gusto yet. Great Video
I really enjoy doing these events. I have plenty of Lego to sell and the events are well advised / attended.
Myself and my mate got both of your Tron sets..... Mine is all built and on display.
Hi Martn - thanks for buying something from my table. Much appreciated. Hope you enjoyed the build.
Well done on your sales, looks like you had a busy day 🙂
Thanks Luck. It was a very successful day
Good to see sales weee good and good to see how popular the event was, all being well this will be me in a few years, currently only buying and holding .
I really enjoy these Brick Festivals. They are hard work for the day but definitely worth it. It's taken me a while to get a decent level of Lego stock but it's paying dividends now.
Wow would have loved that modular at £240!
I sold it I'm afraid
Well done , you made some great sales! By the way ,I’ve been noticing that your channel has been growing in subscribers lately , keep it up 👍
Thanks Suzana. I was really pleased with how much I sold. Yes, the channel has gained a lot of new subscribers recently which is excellent 😁
Congratulations on your sells. Looks like you did very well.
Thanks Charlotte, I really enjoyed the whole thing.
Thank you for sharing your day. I’ve been to loads of Toy Fairs etc over the years but never a brick one. However I do have tickets for the Cambridge event which was going to be next month but has now been moved to June and a different venue.
Excellent. They are very well put together events. They do sometimes change venues and dates though
great video
Thanks David
Very nice man :D
Thanks
I am not surprised you sold a lot again. Very easy to watch with the eye how you showed everything on those 3 tables.
Is that a new car?
Thanks. I put a lot of effort into making my table look ok. Yes, it is a new car. More space to transport my Lego!
Enjoy watching your hauls - Do you ever do fairs further North/ sell online?
Many thanks for watching. I don't sell online at the moment I'm afraid and only really attend Lego fairs in the south as it's close to where I live
Great video, how do you price your stuff?
hi there used to be a computer fair in my town it was about the same size as the hall
it was packed out when it first started up this was about 2004 about you cold make a computer tower in a day
and prices were lower than the shops
i used to sell lego myself on bricklink only alot of people were after parts to make up set's
yes the price of some over 18 set are very high and will sell
there one bad size lego plan to keep putting out old parts to make up the sets that have a high price
you make money on people who don't know there lego as a lego pro my self prices just for 1 part can go made
Hello Ian, just booked tickets for the Milton Keynes event next month. Will we be seeing you there?
Hi Paul, yes I will be at the Milton Keynes event at the end of March
Did you manage to sell the Modular’s? Your prices are pretty good.
I sold the Pet Shop modular, but not the Grand Emporium or the Green Grocer
Hi Ian I'm living in Ireland and would love to visit a show like that ,if u were to pick one which would u recommend going too? Thanx
Hi Patrick. Any of the Brick Festival are worth a visit. I've only ever sold at the Milton Keynes and the Bournemouth events so far but I do know that they are doing them all over the country this year. I think that have a 2 day event planned at Birmingham in early September and I'm sure there will be one at Liverpool which may be easiest for you to get to by ferry?
When you sell lego do you do card payment as I’m doing one in march I’m wondering do you have anyone that claims their money back?
As that’s what I’m mostly worried about as this is my first time doing card
Most of my sales are by card. I have a Sumup card reader which cost me a one off payment of £20. They only take 1.69% handling fee per transaction. I've done 4 of these Lego events now and never had anyone claim back from me yet.
Well done Iain, where do you source your transparent bags for your sets ?
I get them from ebay. I normally just search for 'Large Zip Lock bags'
@@iainsbricks Thank you Iain
That was YOUR table!? :o
Can't believe I missed that it was you!
Yes, that was me 😁
How much does it cost to have a store at these events?
It cost me a total of £120 at this event - £50 each for two front tables and £20 for a back table.
Good result to sell the Tie Fighter pilot helmet that is a good profit but think you could have sold it for £300. Are you doing the Peterborough Bricks Festival
I actually sold the Tie Fighter for £225 in the end. It was to the guy on the stall next to me. I guess I could have tried £300 but that's a bit high for that set at the moment - it didn't sell at the £250 I had it displayed at during normal trading so I guess £225 was still a good result. Still over 4 times what I paid for it 2 years ago!. I won't be at the Peterborough festival I'm afraid as it's a bit far for me travel when there are much closer events for me.
@@iainsbricks £225 is a great return. I am not sure it will go much higher. I think £300 will be the tops. Did you have to have insurance to attend
There was supposed to be one of these events in Birmingham recently but it never happened, do you know why?
Apparently, it was linked to Comic con , which had to be cancelled due to the actors strike
@@iainsbricks ahh that is a shame, I'd never heard of these events before that was going to be the first one I'd gone to
U selling them on-line
I don't sell online at the moment, just at Lego fairs like these
Not really seen this type of show before, why would people display built sets / mocs that are not for sale? Obviously I understand why someone like yourself would go to sell Lego
I think the idea is that it's a brick festival so people like to look at other people's displays and mocs - some of which are pretty amazing. These things tend to be 50% displays and 50% sellers.
Great video, how do you price your stuff?
I generally use Ebay sold prices
