Splitboarding Mt Adams - Washington's 2nd Highest

- In this 20 June 2022 video, I ascend about 6,700 ft to summit and splitboard down from Mt Adams' 12,281 ft apex. This 12 mile round trip route (Lunch Counter Approach) begins at the South Climb Trail 183 around 5,500 ft elevation.
Although, Mt Adams is Washington's 2nd tallest volcano, the standard route up the south ridge is very straight forward.

I'm planning on going solo soon, do I need GPS for finding the trail or should I be fine. I've been touring in AK for 20+years (just so you know any mountain awareness)

Awesome video! looks like a pretty straight forward mission to do late season. Curious why you put the skins back onto the skin savers vs the usual on mountain routine of glue to glue?
Fair question.
1. It seemed easier to separate the skins once I started using the mesh. The silicone adhesive is pretty strong.
2. I usually don't touch skins after rolling them up until next time I'm out. When I get home all I do is leave them rolled up in sunlight until I'm sure they are dry then throw them in closet.
3. I don't really know what I'm doing! Lol

I'm in the PNW for Jan and fancy an easy volcano climb while I have the chance, have you ever looked at Adams in the winter? I've sent Baker a while ago but in July. Not sure what the winter conditions are like in the Cascades. I never look for cold camping so I'll have to send it one shot... maybe I should try splitboarding to speed it up too.
Are you just talking about booting up? I usually target splitboarding while the snow is deep and avoid long days of post holing. I have looked at Adams and the road gets snowed in, which could add 10 miles round trip depending on where you hit the snow line and how capable your vehicle is. Baker may be less mileage overall in the dead of winter, but not quite sure. Mt Hood is always the same distance from Timberline lol. Of course you need to watch snow and weather conditions for a good window to do Hood in the winter, but they also keep the road plowed to Marble Mountain on St Helens. Adams is just a bit more remote. I have found that splitboarding is always faster round trip for me and usually makes the day feel easier overall. For example, the stnd route on Hood took me over 8hr round trip to boot out and only around 6hr with the splitboard. Hope this helps. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!
going june 5 . how long was the descent via board? also do they rent those anywhere up there?
Top to bottom took roughly 45min, but that includes stopping here and there. So probably like 25 minutes of actual riding... There are places that rent alpine touring skis but personally I'm not aware of any doing splitboards around Portland.
