I own a 2011 and it's been very reliable and the motor is smooth and some say underpowered but as a cdl driver who drives many different vehicles with different motors both powerful and adequate and I can tell you the 5.4 in my Expedition is solid and has 150,000 miles going strong and pulls fine with the power it has and mileage. I average 17mpg in summer 15 in the winter. I've driven a Tahoe, Chevy trucks vans, F150,250,350 etc this motor and vehicle is on par with those vehicles with more powerful motors. The handling is different then say a Tahoe cause it's bigger and weighs more. So as far as handling it's just too big and tall to be a serious contender in that department. But all in all good for what it's designed for.
@thatvermontkid13 While I like the CR-Z with the 6MT, it only seats two and the hybrid powertrain stinks... until Honda releases a turbo CR-Z I can't recommend it. I think the Forte is getting pretty dated as well and Im not to big of a fan of the Veloster unless you get the turbo version. I'd say look at that or wait for the updated 2013 Civic Coupe. Does it have to be a coupe?
@thatvermontkid13 hmm mmk, I def would recommend looking at a stick shift Focus hatch, Mazda 3 skyActiv, Honda Accord Coupe, Volkswagen Golf TDI or GTI, or even a Civic Si fits your budget too. For under $25 grand there are a lot of fun choices :) If you would consider pre-owned I would def take a look at a used Acura TSX as well!
I need your opinion, for my first car Im going to get a new car and i have a choice, Kia Forte 2-door, Hyundai Veloster, or the Honda CR-Z? Which one should I get? THANKS!
It has 310HP, Ford upped 10 in 2009. the 5.4 is fine unloaded, but load it up with passengers and switch the a/c on and/or hook up a trailer and it will feel quite underpowered(esp in a EL)
I've been looking for a video of this vehicle, thanks so much!
@form109
I think its bc Ford is trying to decide if they want to keep it in the lineup

My is the same exact thing but in my registration it says it's actually a king ranch edition. Sun roof,leather, heated ac seats etc.
Honestly I knew that black 2012 Ford Expedition was a XLT all along all this time also.

Rear View Backup Camera should be standard on this car.
This truck is perfect it jst needs updated power trains and ford newer interiors with the soft touch and all that good stuff
I liked the darkened grill...is it black or body color?
@thatvermontkid13 you should check out the 2012 focus. I have one and its great, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by it.
@Jakeman21642
lol thats what I was thinking when I saw that. Its ridiculous with gas at these prices!
the rev sound in real life im reving it
@dave11686
its black, limited models are like that
how could they update the rest of the ford lineup and leave the Expedition hanging?
