Overall, I like the idea of the fender vent. I like the design, however, C7 Carbon needs to do a better job at avoiding obstacles on the inside so consumers don't have to remove the fender to install the vent. The company made you think that it is a simple installation, but in reality, it is far more involved. If you like to take on the project, give yourself plenty of time and be patent to work out the details.

That looks really good. I like the Z06 wheels too
Thanks 👍
Wow great video. I actually have a set of these that I had yet to install, so glad you did the video to give some hints on approach. Looks great.
Great to hear that the video is helpful. Let me know how it turns out for you!
GREAT JOB KT real detailed video... I think I am going to do this mod.
Thanks for following the build! Glad I was able to convince you to take on the project. Please let me know how it turns out!
@@ktgarage1126 would you be willing to sell the template?
Bro. U did GREAT!!!!
Thanks! It was a lot of work, but now I get to sit back and enjoy!
I would have painted them carbon flash. It would have tied in the color with the rest of the trim. Great job! Now you have to do the rear vents! Lol
Very good point! Carbon flash is just too bold for me. If someone is making the rear vent, I’ll be one of the first one to try 😉
Looks super nice! and Rookie seems like a really good boy
Thanks. Rookie is by best buddy. Always around when I work on projects!
Man I’m so glad you posted these videos. I wish I could like your videos more than once haha. Great work! Have you heard anything back from c7 carbon yet?
I really appreciate you following this project. C7 guys did replied to a couple of my emails, but it wasn’t very helpful. You are pretty much on your own. I left a review on their website to warn customers about the OnStar bracket on the description and having much more detailed installation instruction. Not sure if they will do it, but hope they do….
@@ktgarage1126 I sent a friend of mine your last video as soon as I seen it because he was just talking about getting the same vents and I wanted to make sure he (and the shop), knew exactly what they were getting into. I’ve never ordered from C7, but I’ve looked at their site a lot. I was going to order their ducted hood but it wasn’t available at the time I ordered mine, it was also really pricey imo. Hopefully they do better going forward but I’m glad I was able to see your feedback.
Congratulations, you are very crafty / clever, it looks good, not sure I would do it , even if I could. It would have been interesting and I think may have looked even better, to have painted the vent in carbon flash. Just a thought. Great job.
Thanks. I looked at their ducted hood too. But I think I am going to wait for the ZR1 style hood to come out. It looks really cool. There is a company that's making it and it is in pre-production
Thanks! I also though about painting it with carbon flash or just to order carbon fiber. I don't think you can wrong either way. I picked the body color so it kinda blend in a bit better with the rest of the car. The black mesh enhanced the look a bit.
Those looks so freaking SICK! Really cool and functional. How many hours do you think you had into it?
Thanks. 2 weekends. 6 hrs per day. 24 hrs in it all together. That’s just because I didn’t know the process. If I do it again, probably 1/2” the time!
Good Job sir
Thanks!
Awesome! Add a perforated amber LED board behind the grills for additional signals?
Thanks man. That is a really cool idea! I'll look into that!
New here👍Great informative video,,, i'd say match it with black like the rear or make both front and back carbon?🤔💡
Thanks. That would look great too! Just a bit too bold for me
Should have test fitted the fender and vent with liner before putting on screen and traced the shape on the backside of the fender liner so that it was easier to cut. Then once cut put the screen mesh into place.
That was my intention, but when I realized that the liner is flush with the screen, all I need to do is to drill holes on the liner. The screen is too course to catch smaller rocks that can sling and damage the paint.
It looks good, but that is a lot of work!
Thanks! Absolutely! If it were me, I would have designed the vent away from the antenna bracket. That way you don't have to remove the fender - major task!
Would look better if it were flush, just my opinion
you mean the lip around the vent? You have to have the lip to install it. If flush, you will have to fiberglass it in and re-paint the entire fender. Or probably need a whole new fender with a built in vent. But agreed that the flush design would look better!
Definitely bold, not really something that looks all that great.. so a pass for me.
Fair enough. These kind of mods are not for everyone. Thanks for viewing the video!
Carbon Flash would have stood out more and blended with the other black accents. I think it looks awesome!
You should NOT have to remove the fender to install this mod. That's very poor design.
Agreed 100%
