  • In this video I will show you how to install the My Push Cart RS0 Remote Start System on a Jeep Liberty. This remote starter will allow you to use your factory OEM key fob to remote start your vehicle. Once installed all you have to do is press LOCK three times and your vehicle will start!
    *Some vehicles will need a relay installed for the three lock start function to work properly. Your tip sheet will explain this in detail, or you can just ask in the comments and I would be happy to help*

    Thank you for this video. I looked all over for something this comprehensive and was having no luck till I finally found your video. I’m installing this on a 2007 Liberty everything so far seems pretty similar. Just one quick question. My kit came with 2 One Button remotes, will programming the OEM key to remote start the vehicle affect the included remotes? Meaning, will the included remotes no longer work if I program my OEM key?
    Thanks again for posting such an easy to follow instructional video on this kit!!!

      This exact unit would not, this unit is for a Jeep Liberty Renegade edition. The Jeep Renegade is a completely different vehicle, but MPC (My Push Cart) may have a system for your vehicle. I would also check the Fortin website, they are the ones that make the "brain" of the system. Thanks for watching!

    So with the purple wire that you connect to the white and purple do you have to cut it completely and wire it two the white and purple that go to the vehicle and then leave the other end cut not connected to anything is this what you meant about not being able to t connect it

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  Před 6 lety +1

      That wire is just a little to small to use a T-tap on like all of the other wires. I have a butt connector on it because I accidentally broke the wire in two when removing the failed T-tap. You don't have to cut it, just splice in the purple wire. I hope that helps you out, thanks for watching!

    Thanks for the great video!! But I cant tell which tan/blue or tan/violet door lock wire you plugged into. It looks to be in the bundle of wires close to the wires for the brake peddle. Could you give me a little direction on how to locate it? I have found 4 tan/blue wires...

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  Před 5 lety

      If I remember correctly you can remove the drivers side "kick Panel" (right next to your left foot if setting in the vehicle) By removing this panel you can get better access to the wires. I believe the reason for the 4 lock motor wires is because there are 4 doors and they use the same wire color code for them all. I hope this info helps, thanks for watching!

    • @jimdwyer2820
      @jimdwyer2820 Před 5 lety +1

      That makes sense...Once I had everything hooked up (connected to the wire I thought it was) it worked, however if you hit any of the locks, key fobs, or any of the door locks 3 times the car would start...I have the Limited but I wouldn't think that would make the difference...so im searching from the door into the car...

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  Před 5 lety

      I had never heard of this issue, but I just went out and tried mine and it does it as well. I can press the driver or passenger lock button inside the Liberty 3 times and it will start. This must just be a trade-off for being able to use the oem key fob. Or I tapped into the wrong wire as well.

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  Před 6 lety +1

      It has a few different names, wire loom tape, cloth shielding tape, heat tape, etc. The big name brand of it is Tesa Tape, I use the generic Amazon brand cause Tesa tape is around 5$ per roll! I got 10 rolls for 15$, but I just looked so I could give you a link and they don't sell the generic Amazon brand anymore. Not sure where I'm going to get it now.

  • @CT3164
    @CT3164 Před 6 lety +1

    I looked into something like this before. They guy installing it said that with the one using the OEM controller that if you were to hit the locking switch on the door (in his case twice) it either tried to start again or shut it down (cant remember its been a while). Is that the case with this?

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  Před 6 lety

      Just went out and tried it, wouldn't start with the lock switch inside. It is easy to confuse the "lock motor wire" with the "lock wire". I think the system would operate with either wire, but using just the "lock wire" would most likely cause that issue. Thanks for checking out the video Alex!

      That could be true with the 02-04. That also might be why MPC doesn't list this kit for those years, they list it from 05-07. Thanks for watching and pointing that out!

    • @ericschaffer5208
      @ericschaffer5208 Před 6 lety +1

      That motor lock wire works properly 100% of the time - as long as you use a relay between the start activation wire of the remote start and the lock motor wire.

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  Před 6 lety

      You are correct, I had to go back and add the relay, no big deal. Without the relay it would sometimes start with just one or two presses of the lock button. The instructions from MPC did warn me about that though.

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  Před 6 lety

      When programming you should only have to press lock once. If you are asking how to activate the remote start after installation, then yes, press lock 3 times in a row to start the vehicle.

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  Před 6 lety

      Oh, okay. I see what you are talking about now. This is a known issue that happens on some Liberty's. You have to add a relay, do you still have the instructions from your kit? It should have a short section in there about adding a relay to fix this, then you will have to hit lock 3 times every time and not have it start with one press sometimes.

    • @RockyXTV
      @RockyXTV  Před 6 lety

      All you need is a standard Bosch style relay, 4 or 5 pin will work. You will need to wire the relay like so, *Pin 87* = Ground, *Pin 86* = Ground, *Pin 85* = Lock Motor Wire on the Jeep, *Pin 30* = Lock Motor Wire on the Remote Starter (Green wire in the small red 3 pin plug) This should fix your issue.
