    Alex thanks very much for the great video. I just replaced the 4 original Infinity door speakers in my '03 Jeep Liberty Renegade with Infinity Reference 6532EX shallow mount speakers. Your method worked wonderfully. I used the same speaker mounting brackets as you suggested as ones that came with the speakers did not fit as well. I also replaced the dash tweeters with a pair of Infinity Reference 375TX component tweeters along with the included crossovers. The sound is amazing...now I wish I would have purchased the underseat subwoofer option when I originally purchased the Liberty new off the lot. Once again thanks much for the video!

    i know this video is super old, but you did an excellent thorough job explaining everything man. only thing i would suggest is instead of tape on the speaker wires, use heat shrink wire loom (very cheap and can be found in Walmart/ almost any auto store/ or online. Hi, I noticed you are using coaxial speakers, did you have to disconnect the tweeter speakers in the dash?

  • @GrapheneBurst
    @GrapheneBurst Před 2 lety +1

    the speakers have a massive gap, because of the nuts on the amplifier preventing the speaker from sealing to door. Can be seen @4:23. This will sound bad and reduce bass. Could be fixed with some dynamat or other sound deadening to seal the speaker. It would be better to mount those amplifiers further down so the speaker can seal.

    Do you know if it would make any difference if you bypass/removed the factory amps rather than use them to power the speakers? Wasn't sure if it's worth the hassle of figuring out how to do the bypass.
    Also, is there any reason why you went with those model of speakers and did you only replace the front speakers?
    I'm planning on replacing my speakers and stereo in my 06 but I wasn't sure on how to go about doing it. Thanks!

    • @alexautomotive28
      @alexautomotive28  Před 3 lety

      I replaced both front and rear, I went with these speakers because they were mid ranger speakers for the price, you could bypass the amp it would be a lot more work it might make a slight bit of difference if you bypass the amp instead of keeping it but I’m not too sure

  • @LibertarianCoconut
    @LibertarianCoconut Před 4 lety

    What's the power output of each of the speaker amps? Might have sounded better using the headunits internal amp. Factory amps aren't known for their sound quality. Plus, while you were in there, should have added some sound deadening/dampening material. That probably would have made the biggest difference in sound quality. Thanks for the video though. Will come in handy soon.

  • @KneeGrowDoingKneeGrowThings

    I haven't done this mod yet but plan to. Anyways, Alex I fucking love you for making this!!! I know my job is going to be much easier.
    Also, how much louder / better sounding are the speakers you used for this install? The speakers I have are 2 ohm 92db w/m sensitivity as opposed to your 4 ohm 92db w/m ones.
    Only asking because the stock system doesn't get nearly as loud as I want so I'm assuming it's sensitivity is much lower. My thinking is if the speakers you installed get plenty loud, then my 2ohm ones should be even louder

    esta muy bien la adaptacion pero CUIDADO el stereo no debe estar amplificado. el original de jeep no esta amplificado pues tiene los aplificadores en las puertas delanteras
    el 90 %de los nuevos stereos estan amplificados .y si los colocamos con los amplificadores de las puertas .reduciremos la vida util del equipo y el sonido no es bueno.

      What a condescending little snot you are...
      Solder is a modern spelling of the Middle English sawder/soudre, which derives from the Old French "soudeur", which itself comes from the Latin "solidare". In the 15th century there was a movement to re-latinize the spelling of words, and the "l" got added back in to the spelling, although the pronunciation didn't change to include the "l" until sometime later. Regarding the dropping of the "l" from the original Latin, that was common in Old French, and is why we say, for example, the word "powder" instead of "pulder".
