- Here’s the second and final part of our Marella Discovery American Dream cruise! We launch straight into day 2 in New York and I’ve got loads of tips for you to make the most of your time ashore, we eat onboard at the speciality pan-Asian restaurant ‘Kora La’, enjoy another day at sea, explore Charleston independently on our final port day, eat at the Glass House onboard, I show you the disembarkation and transfer process and finally our red eye flight back to the U.K. with Tui Airlines. @@TravelBlogJamie in our winter here, this week in upper 50’s mid 60*. If ever make it to FtWorth/Dallas area would looove to meet you both and buy you drinks. Great BBQ and Mexican food here. Closest port to here is Houston/ Galveston area. Not near as beautiful as you have shown me in places I’ll never see. I so appreciate you showing me other places. Beautiful, you two and the travels! Adore you ❤️

Fab as always! I got very emotional seeing the 9/11 memorial, had only seen photos before not video, you were very sensitive talking about it. Loved seeing Charleston, all that southern charm looked wonderful. I'll counter your Buffy pop culture reference with Sam and Dean, who i would call for some ghost busting 😁

Love New York and yes if you want to do the crown on Statue of Liberty you need to book early, think I had to book it about 2 months in advance, it’s worth the climb though 🙌 🗽

Looks great. I was able to go to the crown but it was 35 years ago, when a lot younger. Lots of stairs! Great to watch you both having an adventure. Thanks for a great video, enjoyable watching.

Great series on Marella Discovery, Thank you once more. I have been on her twice, but not since her referb. She is looking very smart.
I much prefer her and her sister ship to Explorer 2.
We had the musical afternoon tea the other week on E2. Fantastic value for money. It felt very special with the acting and singing. And the tea was excellent.
I had the pasta wheel on E2 the other week, so they still do it. I could see it, but they don't bring it to the table. My pasta was cold, so they didn't charge me. I think the Italian onboard Marella has gone right down. It used to be fabulous.

Thanks Jamie and Matthew, thoroughly enjoyed the vlogs. We love Discovery I and II. Good destinations, New York looks amazing. We went on Voyager maiden Mediterranean cruise, you will love it. Few teething troubles but really good shows for this special cruise.

It really is the most moving place. Last time we were there was a couple of days after 9/11 so there were little carnations in the na,es of the memorial 😢 the museum is excellent, sad, emotional but very informative. Meal looked tasty and now I want to try fried cheesecake!

Choose to go on the marella discovery 2 to the caribbean, Mexico, Cuba itinerary was Awsome needed to tick off chichen itza the myan pyramids from my bucket list wow was worth going.

Another great video, did you get to see/visit Stonewall Inn while there? I saw the outside but they were remodeling so did not get to see inside. Do people fly home the same day they get back or what do they do until they can check into a hotel?

Another great vlog. Looks like you had a great time. We have never been on Marella or P&O but currently considering both. Which one would you suggest the best overall?
It really depends on the ship, the itinerary, what you look for in a cruise! They are both completely different products so very difficult to compare!

Me and my partner really enjoyed watching both parts! would you say you preferred this company to P&O? would love to see you make some comparisons!
It’s really hard to compare overall as they are so very different. Both companies do certain things better imo. The experience of Marella on this occasion was superior, but the travel there and back was very challenging at times. I’m of the opinion everyone should try as many cruise lines as possible and not stick to one.

Yes you can get the subway there - but from the port the subway is about a 20 min walk

Great video! Just curious what time you arrived at the Statue of Liberty and what time it was when you left? Nervous about what time of day the line gets so long!
We took one of the first boats at about 9am and we were there a couple hours from memory.

It depends when you sail and of course flights / drinks included too but it’s has definitely increased in price quite a lot

@@TravelBlogJamie my friend who went on another cruise ship says that the toilet in his room sucks the waste away when you flush it like in a plane, I was wondering is it like that or it just like a normal flushing toilet
