- I am very excited to launch my brand new series all about our 7 night Caribbean cruise on board P&O Arvia. In part 1 I show you the fly cruise process, our Maleth Aero highs and lows to Barbados from London Gatwick, the transfer process from the plane to the port, check in at the port, what happens to your luggage (hopefully!), embarkation, muster, and then it's fun all the way as we settle in to our balcony cabin for 7 nights of festivities! In part 1 we eat at the beach house, have a wonderful day on the island of St Lucia, await Santa's visit to Arvia, enjoy the main dining room, show you what we get up to at sea on Christmas day, brave the Altitude rope course, have Christmas dinner at 6th Street Diner and sample quite a few drinks from various bars and lounges! Come along for the journey in part 1 and get ready for parts 2 and 3, plus our absolutely nightmarish journey home after a great week.

I just spat my tea out when you said that about the custard on Christmas Day! You’re flippin hilarious ❤
I’m so sure I didn’t say anything naughty… not like me!!!
Well, I've never been tempted by the Caribbean OR Christmas cruising....but I'm thinking you might be swaying me! Looking fabulous so far - roll on the next one ❤
Ooooh really?!!
Oh wow, the piton excursion looked amazing - brought a tear to my eye from the minute the music started on the boat. Magical ❤
It was just fabulous and a life long dream
Great to see what P&O is like. I’m still a newbie to cruising and have only tried Marella so far. Must look out for your guide to the drinks packages on P&O to see how they compare cost wise. Finding your channel so helpful, many thanks to you and Matthew for sharing your holidays with us
Thank you so much ☺️
Your enthusiasm and cheer beams brilliantly in every second of this video, Part 1 of the blog... I can tell you truly love Christmas coupled with being on a Caribbean cruise. Every time you wish everyone "good night and love you.." I make sure to position myself in front of my screen in the affirmative finger waggle direction.. LOL 😉😂 #loveTBJandMaffoo2
Ha!! I love this comment ❤️
We’re on Arvia in March for the transatlantic back to Southampton from the Caribbean. Good to see that there are still loungers in the sun available at 8-9am. I’ve been worrying that we’d have to get up 6-7am! 😂 the Christmas cruise looked amazing, great video as always!
Enjoy 😊
Ah loved this! What a great trip in St Lucia - it looked worth every penny. It looked like an amazing Christmas Day and that P&O tried hard to make it special for everyone. Maleth looked grim but hey, you are on board now and it's a distant memory (well, until the return flight I guess -) Happy New Year guys!
Oh the return 😖
I love watching your videos. They keep me smiling the entire time. Thank you for your creativity, humor, and joy.
Thank you so much 😊
I must say that I totally enjoyed these videos - my first time with Jamie (& Matthew), watched because of our upcoming Arvia Christmas/New Year cruise and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I do hope that you do Christmas/New Year with Arvia this year, Jamie - we’d follow you around!!! 😳
Although I’d probably be as sobersides as Matthew!
@@caroleceres oh now then this year we are doing a river Christmas cruise
Love this ❤
❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for this Jamie it helps to know what to expect x
Very welcome 🙏
Wow absolutely brilliant xx

It was lovely to see Maffoo so happy and smiling.

Fabulous as always, can't wait to go back.

Fantastic video as always Jamie ❤

Here comes my brand new series! Are you ready?!
Thank you, your video have given us lots of information.
Very Welcome 🙏
Great video, thank you. The Christmas Eve trip looked like it was worth every penny! Looking forward to the 2nd and 3rd parts.
It was a fab Christmas Eve!!
This is my fave of your cruises so far...looks like it was so much fun. I am tempted!! X
Thank you 🙏
What an amazing time you are having on Arvia , everything looks amazing so envious, enjoy both and thanks for 😊 xx
Thank you 🙏
What a wonderful part 1 cruise review, looks amazing you are tempting me with this cruse. Thank you Jamie and Maffoo x
Thank you 🙏
Another great video x so excited as we go in less than 3 weeks x Loved the Christmas Day dinner in 6th street diner part and the fact you are so happy when Ripples get your order right :) x
Vista has been so hit and miss over the last few years on Iona and Arvia so it was very special that they got it right every time in this cruise 😂😂😂
Great! Going early March! Eagerly awaiting part 2!! 😊
🙏🙏🙏
Fantastic way to spend Christmas, trip was worth cost ,
Thanks for sharing, 😊
Very welcome 🙏
That ship is gorgeous 😍
👍👍👍
Love this video. Love your shot from the balcony. I have sailed on Royal Clipper 3 times loved it.
Thank youuu
This is amazing! So want to go back to St Lucia! ❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
Here in ft Lauderdale fla just witnessed THE new ICON of the SEAS WOW maybe just to big engineers are amazing 7 yrs to build this beast we love your videos great job 🎉🎉🎉
I just wish it wasn’t so expensive right now to sail on her! I’ve been looking.
@TravelBlogJamie I would wait a year here in the US a 7-day interior no extras in oct the cheapest $ 1800 per person stay well and safe seas
Yay Jamie's back with Arvia ✨
I am indeed
I enjoyed your Christmas holiday cruise. Like Matthew I love egg Benedict for breakfast. Matthew plays a great cameo roll in your Vloggs, I'm a fan of Matthew.
Awesome 😎
Oh come on, please can you be the Pinyatta....! Only joking....especially after seeing how the Twix had melted! Sailing on Arvia in September...thanks for all the entertaining blogs in 2023, looking forward to many more inc the chuckles. Thank you and to Mafoo xx
🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Brilliant vlog Jamie. Your definitely making me want to do a Christmas cruise. The cabin looks brilliant and a good size. I'm with you on the controversial cabin I liked it and didn't bother me about people walking by the balcony. St Lucia looks absolutely stunning. I'm picturing myself sitting on the beach with legs in the water with a rum punch in hand. The food on board looked brilliant and alot that i could eat. Some of the items I couldn't decide what to have so I think I'd be having a couple. Daniel would have to keep me out of the shop. Looking forward to seeing the next vlog Jamie.
Thank you Alan
Those luggage tags are amazing… got some off the olde Amazon for my June cruise on Iona in 2022 and have reused them since … so very secure, waterproof and virtually no risk of them being ripped off and loss of luggage
Very true!
As usual-thoroughly enjoyed the video. not been on Arvia but might give it a go after seeing your video! Did a helicopter ride in St Lucia for my birthday a while on a cruise a few years ago as a solo traveller. Thanks for sharing! x
What a fabulous thing to do!!
Absolutely loved this! The fact I got a mention had nothing to do with it but…there were so many funny moments-the classic Christmas pud comment had me laughing out loud! Thanks for another fabulous watch! x
You did indeed get a shout out - fanjeeta man
Super fan here! Love the videos. Your videos have inspired me to go on Iona!
Let me know how you get on if you book!
Luved the vlog Jamie. Been 2 St Lucia twice ❤
🙏🙏🙏
We were waiting in anticipation for Part One of your Arvia Carribean Cruise vlog & you didn't disappoint! Another very informative & funny vlog, we just love watching you & Maffoo 😊 We are doing the transatlantic cruise in March & can't wait to try the rum punch!! It's my husband's birthday today, so we had a chilled out breakfast this morning watching you 😂 xx
Oh rum punch…nom nom nom! Happy birthday to your husband!
It was great to say hello to you on the Pitons excursion ❤. I was the idiot who just said ‘hi’ about 10 times 😂. Let’s blame the Rum Punch xx
Rum punch can do all sorts to a person 😂
As I work night shifts (joys of being a Nurse) I think 4 hours behind GMT would suit me fine !!! It looks lush in St. Lucia Jamie :) thank you for sharing
Thank you 🙏
Loved it x
haven't done a Xmas cruise yet but think you have swayed me x
Love a Christmas cruise
Loved seeing this, looks like you had a fabulous time. Shaun the Sheep was with us on Britannia over Christmas ☺️
Thank you 🙏 Missed Shaun though 😢
I met a family on the plane flying out, and the little girl was excited when I told her Shaun the Sheep was on board. On the flight home she told me how she had met Shaun the Sheep at a tea party and got a Shaun the Sheep mask. However the highlight of her holiday had been swimming with Stingrays on her Eighth birthday!
I enjoyed the video
Excellent news
Love the fish and chips at the Quays.
Had really good meals in the Keel and Cow and the Glasshouse - and the Limelight Lounge (shame it was the same menu both nights though). Lots of fab cocktails too!
Liked the ship, some great entertainment, but felt it was just a bit too big for us.
The Christmas presents were a lovely touch, and the complimentary wine!
👍👍
Thank you Jamie for another quality vlog. Dont feel discriminated against i also had a naked chipolata on our Christmas Market 2022 cruise.
Was all made better as the waiter brought me an extra 2 with their blankets on.
Lol 😂
Loving this jamie roll on march when i head back to the canaries on iona
Woohooo!
Ohhh I love a steel band 😊
Me tooooo
Happy New Year to you both fab vlog
HNY to you too
Ah, the Caribbean cruise - a sun-drenched buffet of turquoise waters, piña coladas, and enough limbo lines to make your spine sing. This is probably one of the best thing to do one of these days! Hopefully, when I completed hitting all countries using my travel dart!
👍
Hi lovely you said about that lovely lady from Barbados I live in Cyprus love watching x
She’s a beautiful soul
Well gentlemen enjoyed your video especially as I was on this cruise for two weeks and saw you several times aboard Pleased you liked it and yes my flights were with TUI so a five star Christmas and new years break for me and already booked again for next year
I have subscribed especially as I make a 1 second appearance behind you in the quays more than likely working on a Katsu curry a day attempt ( succeeded)
So pleased you had a great cruise and flight!
Think I have worked out that you were on for a week! And that probably means you were on the Gatwick flight from Antigua - the one that was supposedly leaving somewhat late at 4 in the morning? I seem to recall it might have been later than that!
@@richarddowns8433 it was a 16 hour delay and we were dumped at the airport all night - that particular vlog is out in the morning!
Wow it all looked so lovely..but queues at bars I’m with you…not literally…😮go back to the cabin for snacks &bubbles ❤
Every time - back to the cabin for us lol
Great blog Jamie. We did Xmas on Britannia last year and it was great. Loved the Jizz comment.
Ooops!!
Nice one
👍👍👍
Hi Jamie, we we're on Marella Discovery over Christmas which was fab! Captain Chris still throwing out those bad 'dad jokes' 🤦🏻♀️🤣
We're on P&O Azura for a Med cruise in July (1st time with P&O) and just booked a cheeky August Bank Hol 5 day on Ambience 😬( go with an open mind I say haha)
Ps: I don't know how you do it- I'm still shattered from my Christmas cruise but I'm so happy that you do 😁. X
I’m also still shattered lol 😆
@@TravelBlogJamie 🤣🤣
New Hall wines are very local to me, the sparkling wine is amazing
Oh I’ve tried this and it’s fabulous
I see you walker passed the Rum Therapy bar in St Lucia. A very wise choice. We didn’t and somehow lost 3 or 4 hours. I don’t know how it happened 🤔🍹🥃
Oh it was heeeeaving! Way too busy for us 😆
Beachouse will be worth a visit on our Iona cruise
👍
Looks amazing. Caught another vlog from Arvia on Sunday, how does one of the most popular vlogging couples get caught out by booking a conservatory mini suite, which only exist on decks 8 and 9. then be very upset to find that they were on deck 8???
Possibly for dramatic effect and views?! If it’s who I’m thinking of they’ve always disliked P&O so not sure what it’s all about…
Agreed. Also when you book a cruise and then say you regretted booking it that’s your fault! Starting off with a negative attitude and going out looking for issues will never end well. And how didn’t you know that repositioning cruises always sell off cheaply at the last minute? Bizarre.
Good old Neil Oliver ….we first saw him on Oriana when he was a Dance professional 1995 I think it was.
👍👍
I was on Iona for Christmas, love the ship but oh dear the MDR food is awful. Gave up after 2 tries and either ate in port or in speciality dining which was all good, loved the beach house, Sindhu and Olive Grove.
Oh what a shame - ours was good on Arvia
We did a P&O Christmas/New Year cruise to the Canary Islands on Arcadia. We received the Same Christmas fare as you (food & gifts), although our Brussels sprouts were rock hard! If you don’t drink alcohol, you don’t receive a free drink - nothing! You had to buy your own drink and couldn’t choose a mock tail! Only coke, sprite, etc. Disappointed with P&O - they Must know that not everyone drinks alcohol?
We’ve booked for Arvia for Christmas/New Year this year, 1st time doing a fly/cruise! Let’s hope that the staff are friendlier than the Arcadia bunch. Our total experience was not great, in comparison to our P&O Caribbean Christmas/New Year on Ventura the year before.
To be honest, the entertainment and the vibe was so poor on the Arvia (beautiful ship), that I’m considering a Saga Cruise this year to compare - it certainly can’t be worse!
The Arvia looks huge, that will be a novelty.
Oh we lived the vibe on Arvia this Christmas
I was on the same cruise (except for the 2 week version) and also flew from Gatwick, but on one of the two TUI flights ( these were in addition to the Maleth Flight). What a difference, excellent food and service, many rounds of free drinks, tea of Finger Sandwiches and Scone with clotted cream and jam. What a difference to Maleth.
Absolutely a massive difference
Amazing video as always Jamie only thing I would suggest is to try and get the captions announcement you can't begin a lovely Cruise without hearing his announcement the apart from that it was a lovely video
Buuuut on this occasion the announcements were all over the place since many guests were delayed in boarding due to flight delays! I don’t even recall the captain’s welcome!
Yeah I know mate apologies if it came over a bit horrible I tried to pull it as nicest I could but hopefully on the next cruise we can hear the captain announcement apologies if it's sanded horrible from the last message @@TravelBlogJamie
Hi Jamie, hope you don't mind me asking, if going on boat at Stavenger to see fjords would you know if a wheelchair user and if its disabled friendly
I’d recommend contacting the company directly as I don’t want to give incorrect info - the link is here for you rodne.no/en/contact-us/
i am wondering whether or not pax flying back from Sydney & Hong Kong on world cruise sectors are flying with Maleth. I personally far prefer Brittania to Arvia in the Caribbean having been on both.. When I did the crossing in Oct 23 on Brittania only about 140 were at the Peninsular club party out of 3,500. Flew back Tui. Wesley Dunlop my favourite P & 0 captain. He came from Saga ships where he had been on 4 of their ships opver the years he told me
👍
Hi Jamie can you tell me have they stop you take a 1L off alcohol on bord now and take beer on ??? Thanks
Please search ‘travel blog home P&O cruises change alcohol policy’ for the details
Have you done a & P&O New Year cruise, having new year onboard? Do they do a good new year party?
Yes indeed - on Aurora: was a great party
@@TravelBlogJamiewill go check it out. I am considering one for next new year. Thanks
I had the same opinion on that coffee shop. Also rather despised it because they kept having to bang the coffee grounds out of the espresso machines and it sent a right old racket throughout the atrium. What made it doubly annoying is that there are a good ten or fifteen coffee stations onboard, they're *everywhere*, but because that one is so obvious it's the centre of everyone's attention and nobody went elsewhere to get their coffees. If I drank the stuff that would've been an advantage to me, I suppose...
Love hate coffee shop
Do they actually need to bang out the grounds. Also gets on my two bob bits
Jamie are you going to Norway Fjords in July? Would love to meet you❤🎉
No, I did that last year ❤️❤️❤️ Sorry!
@@TravelBlogJamie oh no!😢would love to meet you, you’re my hero❤️❤️❤️

🤔🤔🤔
Amanda wants 2 go back 2 St Lucia now 😊
Me too! She can take me!
Amanda said your on lol xx
@@frenchietj awesome 😎
Just come back from Iceland and there is a restaurant chain called Mathu you can guess what I thought and kept saying 😂
Haha! Funny 😆
@@TravelBlogJamie Jamie please could I ask what do you think the weather is like on a a repositioning cruise from Barbados to Tenerife would be like in late April please? 😃
@@haroldbetterson1877 it’ll essentially get colder as you travel east and then get warmer again! Seas always unpredictable, of course, but wouldn’t ever put me off
@@TravelBlogJamie thank you 🙏
Waiting with my IPad on go
Oh that’s organised!
Love your videos Jamie! When flying into Barbados do they ask for proof of vaccinations such as hepatitis diphtheria tetanus etcetera? We are flying out to Barbados in March this year. Any Barbados landing requirement tips are welcome .
No, no proof of vaccinations (plus those aren’t mandatory for Barbados). Only requirements are Barbados immigration document and passport
@@TravelBlogJamie thank you so much for clarifying. Very much appreciated and so are your fun and informative cruise videos!
Hi Jamie
Thank you for your vblogs
Regarding your St Lucia excursion ( I believe you mentioned it was £130 each ? ), was this a P&O one or an independent excursion ? Many thanks
P&o
Oh ok thank you. I couldn’t see that excursion mentioned in my p&o planner for an upcoming cruise I have which stops at St Lucia
Looking forward to part 2 of your series . Once again thank you
@@philipscott9859 no problem and enjoy
Rachel & Wills sent me to your channel. Apparently you guys ran into each other on P&O.
I believe so, yes!
@@TravelBlogJamie well, I subscribed to your channel and you might get a few more from Rachel & Wills fan base. Postcard and a Pint.
@@kennethfinnegan2978 welcome on board!!
OMG can’t believe P&O still can’t get coffee sold…we had this issue on Azura 2016…and it’s still a mess….unlike Princess who have it nailed with International Cafe.
It was definitely hit and Miss
Hello mr robins
👋
We are cancelling our Arvia cruise. anybody want it it’s deck 9 conservatory suite.
Never cruise P&O again
Booked in November 14 nights
Thanks for letting everyone know 🙏
Great Vlog BUT a plate of j……… ????? 🤣🤣🤣
Jersey royals?!

Did you go on the same cruise as Rachel & Wills? Your video looks so fabulous and their video showed the ship in some awful places. Not as glamorous as your video
I don’t think they were on the Caribbean one were they?
@@TravelBlogJamie no. On their cruise it was cold and raining and they were wearing coats. Plus the sun never came out once. You must have paid more money for your cruise 🤣😂
@@kennethfinnegan2978 I was on their cruise too! But this one is Christmas in the Caribbean ❤️
