Tour every restaurant with me and special guest vloggers Paul and Carole Love to Travel and Marina & Joe Go Cruising as we eat our way around P&O Iona! Save room for pudding!
Thanks for having us 😊 the food on Iona really is fantastic, and we loved the Epicurian! It's great that most of the new venues onboard are included to some degree in the cruise fare as well 😊
@@MarinaAndJoeGo and thank you so much for taking part ❤️
Can any body tell me if gratuity is included in the price of holiday thanksx
@@susanwhitfield3616 yes it is
@@TravelBlogJamie thanks
I’m stuffed just watching! This looks absolutely amazing! Thanks for sharing with us!
Ha! Yes, I’m as stuffed watching as I was eating 🤣
Oh my, I’m not even halfway through this video and my mouth is watering! I think I might have to pause and have some lunch, although not as yummy as this all looks. Fabulous!
Thank you 🙏
Thank you for the video Jamie all looked amazing and thank you for the helpful hints x
You are very very welcome 🙏
Just looking makes me feel hungry. A good holiday is about the food.
Very important to us when we travel
Thanks for the tour Jamie. We sat at the table tonight and worked out what we wanted to do in our Iona cruise so the video made it easy for us. The Keel and Cow is a must.
Oh yes, Keel and Cow has a menu I could happily work my way through
Really useful - on Iona in 3 weeks...have saved myself some time/trouble, thanks to this !
Berg Welcome - Hope
You enjoy
We thought the food on Iona was incredible, the best we've had on P&O.
Great video Jamie xx
Thank you and agreed, excellent fodder in Iona ❤️
Was inspired by this blog to book Iona in March. Loved it, especially the food choices.
Ah I’m sooo pleased to hear this ❤️❤️❤️
A great informative video we are sailing the 21 May thank you so much
You are very welcome and I hope you have a great cruise
I cant wait to be on iona all the food looks delecious and yummy
Our fav food of all our cruises this year!
The food looks amazing!
It was great 👍
Just watched this video again and I've booked La Voix Limelight, Epicurean and Sindhu. They all had a discount for pre-booking. We'll sort any others out onboard. Thanks again for all your useful information.
I think those are excellent choices! We really did all enjoy our food on board with the odd less good course (see Maffoo!)
Totally agree. Compared to the other ships in the fleet we felt the food on Iona was exceptional. P&O has always been very good but the menus and quality of food on Iona gave the impression they had really moved up a notch. Can't wait to get back on board again next year!
So much choice which I love when cruising ❤️
Really great vlog Jamie! Always helpful. Can you order 2 mains in the Olive Grove like you can in the restaurants on Princess? Not been on P&O before so looking forward to it!
Thanks for taking the time.
I have to say I never tried! The olive house is speciality dining though (although most items free), not a main dining room. Can but try!
Forgot what fun we had with all our meals, such a great cruise! Looking forward to being back on board in January! Hope we get to cruise with you again sometime soon, we had such a good time! Great to see Marina and Joe too, really useful video!
Thanks! We are thrilled to be a part of this video 😀 We always enjoy videos of you and Jamie cruising together - you definitely know how to have a brilliant time on board 🤩
Thanks for putting this together, I appreciate the work that must have gone into it! I’m going on Iona 3 weeks today and am actually going to make a list to tick off of which restaurants to visit. I’ve been on the other p&o ships including Britannia a few weeks ago but this looks next level 😂
I thought it certainly went up a notch!
You have showed us a nice cruise. The food looked lovely and the variety interesting. Thanks for a nice Vlog of this cruise that showed your experience. Carol and Paully have a greaat Vlog also. Some others on the cruise didn't show you guys unfortunately. Maybe we'll see you some day if you come down to Australia.
Oh I don’t remember any other bloggers on our cruise to be honest.
Thank you for your kind comments
@@TravelBlogJamie maybe I was thinking about another cruise. Cheers.
@@posspet no problem
Does anyone know if you can get a roast on board please.
Also great vid i will subscribe now.
On Iona, there are different roasts served in the main dining room and buffet. On Arvia there’s an actual Roast section in the Quays
Can't wait till January 23 for our back to back
Hope you enjoy too
Great video Jamie! It was good to see the different menus with such an interesting range of dishes. I always like to know what's included and what's extra and you covered that really well. Thank you!
I'm constantly changing my mind on whether I'd enjoy a P&O cruise depending on who's video I've watched. Today I'm tempted.🤣
Ha! What is it that puts you off the most?
@@TravelBlogJamie Just not sure, lots of friends have been negative but hey ho we've just booked for March 19th.🤣🤣
@@angelahorton5745 oh you’ve taken the plunge?! 🤭🤭🤭
@@TravelBlogJamie Yes, we've got 2 Princess and 2 Cunard next year too, so if we hate it we've got lots to look forward to but we're always so positive I'm sure we'll have a wonderful time even if there are aspects not quite to our liking. I'm feeling good about having made the decision. I did make Graeme watch your video first and we paused on each menu. It really helped us decide so thank you.
@@angelahorton5745 oh what a line up! Here’s hoping you enjoy ☺️
❤❤❤
💪🏻
fantastic video, do you know if the milkshakes in the olive grove are included in the non alcoholic drinks package (the 19 quid one)?
If so, what flavours did they have :)
Thank you! So sorry but I don’t go near drinks packages on P&O so I’m not sure if the milkshakes are included in the non-alcoholic drinks package. Hopefully someone else can help ❤️
I'm a bit late to this video, so glad to find it. One huge question please. Jamie says Iona is the only ship in the fleet where the Beach House is included in cruise price. I watched twice as I couldn't believe it. Is this still the case? 😊
No longer the case I’m afraid
Is the Sundays free or what is the costs of the icecreem please I’m on the Iona this may can’t ways ps love your video
Hi Debbie, do you mean at Sprinkles? If so, depends on what you choose - a couple pounds up
What time did you have your meals? Looked very quiet not many people. We are going in July...but guess it'll be busy lol. Thanks
Varied from early to late eve depending on our schedule
In the Quays buffet style section, how does the self serve beer and wine work? Do you pay for refills etc? I know it wasn't available when you filmed, but wondered if you knew? ☺️
You basically pay as you go for each separate drink
Canot wait for iona 30april next year
Hope you have a great time ❤️
PSA: Caution. Only watch this video after you have already eaten a substantial meal.
🤣🤣🤣
OK chaps, just how many kilos did you put on?? I look forward to going on this ship in July 2023. Love your videos.
Too much swimming and walking to put weight on 😂
Do the menus change in the "other complimentary" restaurants so olive Grove and beach house?
On Iona, currently, they (Olive Grove and Beach House) didn’t change when we were onboard but it was early days and with very reduced capacity. Sindhu had 2 menus, however
@@TravelBlogJamie I guess that's fair enough given they are offering variety from the mdr/buffet etc.
@@olipoo3 yes, more variety than usual
I hope Matthew wasn’t charged for his below par meal in the Glasshouse never mind a free glass of wine. The problem I see from watching this video is that all of the restaurants you went into lacked atmosphere because they were so empty. Is that because the ship was sailing with Covid restricted capacity or because there are just too many restaurants?
Nk he wasn’t charged. We had no problem with ambience; we lived almost every single meal and dish, as did our friends. It was running at 75% capacity. There are definitely not too many restaurants; the more the better for me
How much extra are the non-included restaurants?
You pay for the dishes you want rather than a cover charge
My mum and dad are going on iona 17th sep
Hope they enjoy!
Much choice for gluten free?1
Yes plenty! And you can ask for whatever you want as long as you give some notice
Are there many vegan options?
Yes there are vegan options
I got the impression most food is
up- charged.
This puts me off sailing P&O.
No not really; they just have more restaurant choices on this ship than most lines. In comparison there were more up charge restaurants onboard MSC / RCL / Princess as per ratio
Paying for any meals as an extra on a cruise is new to me. Prefer to have a higher cruise price.
It’s very common on many lines.
@Travel Blog Jamie I think it is tacky. Personally, I would prefer my cruise price to cover all my food. Accept speciality restaurants do charge.
@@user-dw8ud2hw5d like I said, many cruise lines do this - I don’t see it as tacky personally. You don’t have to eat at speciality restaurants.
