- The Olive Grove is a (mostly) complimentary dining experience on P&O Iona and Arvia. It's inspired by Mediterranean specialities and is probably one of the busiest and most popular restaurants on board! It can be quite difficult to get a table here at times. So, here's my full review of both our evenings at the Olive Grove onboard Iona. Does it live up to its hype and how did we bag 2 reservations? Well, it's time to find out by clicking the link. Every dish is reviewed too! Have you eaten here? Share your experience below!

I hope you’re hungry! Here’s a review of our 2 meals at the Olive Grove plus some thoughts from other diners!
Love the Olive Grove and can't get enough of those Sunset Coolers! Any wine in them will do 🤣🤣🤣
Oh my goodness exactly - just get pouring that white wine, whatever it is!!
I was on Iona for two weeks last year and I went to the Olive grove 6 times!!! I booked on embarkation because I heard it was busy, but after that I just turned up and asked for a seat. However, I am a solo traveler, so that made it easier I guess to slot me in. Olive Grove is the BEST food on the ship and as a complimentary venue its just so good. Favourite dishes were the Creme Brulee, the Peri Peri chicken, and the pizza... and the Baklava... er.... all of it was just great for me.
Ha! Sounds like you had some great dishes there!
We went to the Olive Grove a few times for lunch and once for dinner when we sailed on Iona last March. Personally I feel it's a great lunch venue and perfect for a very casual dinner. The menu choices I made were great. As you say it's always easier to be more forgiving if you haven't paid any supplement. I enjoyed the Lemon Drop cocktail and it was consistent on every visit. Thanks for another great video!
Oh I must try a lemon drop next time!!
yesss all about the crispy panchetta in carbonara! absolutely love your channel.xxxxxxx
Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for info Jamie good to know book in advance
No problem 😌
Another great video Jamie - an nice honest review. We have been to the Olive grove on Iona on two separate cruises and could not fault it - mind you both times there were far less people on board.
I did think your first platter was lacking some colour and presentation a bit.
I am heeding your warning and have started compiling our restaurant bookings for our cruise…which isn’t for another 6 weeks!! 😂
6 weeks will fly by! Hopefully it will ne less busy on board for you too!
as always Jamie, great informative vlog. im getting more and more tempted to book the Iona! And as daft as it may sound, I want to have the fish and chips at the keys haha...tery x
Lots of people looove the fish and chips there!
Excellent 🤩
🥰🥰🥰
Love the OG will be trying Arvia soon so will compare with Iona, but hope it is good. Interesting that the food seemed better for your second visit.
I’m looking forward to trying the OG on Arvia too
We'll take your advice and book a night in the Olive Grove for when we're on the Arvia in July. After all, we've gotta give everything a go, don't you think 😁
Absolutely this!
Thank you -Jesus- P&O
😂😂😂
Olive grove was excellent.
Glad you enjoyed!
Did you have a favourite dish?
We really enjoyed the Olive Grove, but we agree that not all dishes were up to standard or expectation. Lovely venue though and great that most dishes are included in the cruise fare 😊
Yes, a bit inconsistent?
@@TravelBlogJamie exactly that… for example, I had the Gyros the first time we went and wasn’t fussed, but Tony had it a few nights later and it was lovely 🤷🏼♀️
@@allthethreestravel I must try those next time!
@@TravelBlogJamie it’s just a kebab really! 🥙
@@allthethreestravel yes but a good one?
Is there a specific time that bookings open up to be made in advance 2 weeks prior? Or does P&O just send an email arbitrarily?
I had an email telling me when they were open for reservations
If you have a drinks package do you get your drinks free of charge in the olive tree.
Yes you do (as long as they are £6.95 or less, as per terms of the drinks package)
How soon can you book the olive Grove
2 weeks before your cruise
I was really disappointed but the rest of the venues were great
Mixed bag for us
I was a little disappointed with olive grove this yr , found Beach house a lot better
I like the beach house!
Would you believe I didn’t try any of the cocktails here 😮 we enjoyed the wine - the Vinho Verde and Picpoul de Pinet especially.
Hope the over-rosed ice cream wasn’t my fault as when we were onboard we commented that it wasn’t very rosey 🫢
It was like roses in acid 😂
I’m not understanding how you skipped on cocktails 🤔
@@TravelBlogJamie probably because I’d been in the Emerald Bar all afternoon 😆 and I do like sharing a bottle of wine now and then!
@@TravelBlogJamie 🥀😂
@@cocktailswithlisa sharing??? This is a massive revelation 😂
