    I remember the good old days. In my city we had: Eatons, Kmart, Sears, Hudson Bay, Zellers, Winners, and those are just at the top of my head. In recent years my city had a Sears, Winners, Target, and Walmart. Now, all we have is Walmart and Winners. It sucks.

    People are spending less because they have less disposable income. It getting harder to keep bills paid and splurge at the same time nowadays especially when your working two part time jobs because full time jobs are non existent in this country. The economy is failing.

    Stores are closing because people are spending all there income on housing people don't have extra income to spend on stores when the Costs of rent and home prices are so high we need more housing to be built as well as affordable housing

    The Economy is not what they are telling you it is bad and many homeless people are increasing and people have NO money to spend. The on line sales make up only 10% of sales and 90% is in retail and no one is spending only the rich.

    I have absolutely no sympathy for these big conglomerate stores corporations and also the malls they deserve exactly what they’re getting. It’s called a poor business plan and now they’re suffering the consequences. Change your outlook change your style change what you’re selling do whatever it takes to stay alive maybe you forget your bonus this year CEOs oh God forbid they wouldn’t do that. Look at Woolworths they closed all their stores but they are still around today it’s called footlocker they changed with the times and I think every other company should do as well I again have absolutely no sympathy for them and I say good riddance shut your doors

  • @matthewhybel9083

    Everything's so Damn expensive! Rent, Doctor Bills cause insurance barely covers shit anymore! Gas, Food, Cars- cause a Damn car doesn't even last 5 to 10 plus years anymore so poorly built and expensive to maintain cause all computerized crap. Jobs dont offer full time hardly or if youre lucky to have a full time they barely pay anything good hourly anymore , clothes, electronics crappy tvs that are chinese made junk that burn out that cost a dime to make but for us a fortune to buy at shitty walmart. Just a few things that irritate a young guy trying to make it for him and his young family. It's the truth! And you wonder why the Big Dog keeps getting bigger, cause it's eating off the littler ones. Simply put!!!!

    • @matthewhybel9083
      @matthewhybel9083 Před 6 lety +1

      And also it's just Harder now, want you to work, work, work but still barely able to have anything. Where's our American Dream in this current generation? Houses , condos, apartments are so expensive to buy and rent monthly yet they're nothing glamorous either for these places. Ones that are more glamorous cost a mega fortune. Mistake is ppl don't seem to care and when you have a little of extra money we wind up spending it for our families while the one providing sacrifices and runs him/herself into the ground. It's Sad! That's how it is now and has been far as I've been alive mostly. Mine as well say there's a rich and poor class. Middle doesn't exist anymore. And that's the reason why businesses are folding up and leaving here, the middle class used to be the ones keep g these places going.

    Also just like Toys “R” Us when you want to charge $180 for a teddy bear and you wonder why people are buying it and you’re closing stores well if you’re so stupid not to realize it you should be closed

      @JohnAckerman93 Před 3 měsíci

      That is true, but you have to look at other things too. Nowadays, the prices for just about anything are so expensive. I work at a grocery store, and customers say “wow that’s a lot” when I tell them their total. Price of food is outrageous. The thing is the price of everything is going to keep going up and up. People are spending their money on necessities and bills today. People aren’t making as much as they used to

    • @Deontjie
      @Deontjie Před 7 měsíci

      Yes, so local people can't earn money. And they can spent it on plumbers and electricians and painters, and anything in that communality. That is why US communities are slowly dying. All that remains is crime. Amazon supporters through they were smart. But the cost to the community is way higher than the few personal benefits.

    🙋 the reason why a lot of the stores are closing today is because the simple fact that there are way too many lazy people in this world today. I mean no disrespect. but there are. look how many people continue to order off the internet plus they're always ordering off Amazon and other websites. It's a proven fact. If people would stop ordering off the internet and off websites plus Amazon's stuff like that then stores wouldn't be closing like this it's ridiculous. A lot of people don't realize what they're doing the more they order off these web sites in off of Amazon the more they're putting all these other business out for good Plus there will be other people out of jobs as well. It's not that hard get off your lazy butt once again I mean no disrespect. Get off your lazy butt get off the computer get off the couch and go out to the stores and buy something. It's not that hard. The other thing is people are paying a lot more from Amazon and other websites than their paying at the stores. Just think about it when you off of Amazon and other websites got to pay for the shipping plus sale tax and certain places well once you the pay insurance as well in case of something happens. Not only that but when they order off the internet and stuff like that they may be getting wrong color to wrong size and all that and it got to ship everything back. The other thing is the more people order off Amazon and other websites the more they are going to be hacked. you have a lot of hackers out there is just waiting to get your information trust me it happened to me twice.

    • @TheRedWabbit
      @TheRedWabbit Před 6 lety +2

      Nope, everyone did not just become lazy within one generation. Most of the population is in debt up to their eyeballs and their wages have been frozen for decades. This creates a whole lotta people without the money to go out and spend it on consumer goods. Human nature has not changed overnight, people still want to try on coats and pants before they buy them. Think a little deeper before declaring something a proven fact without proof.

    People aren't spending as much money ??? That's a crock of crap and everyone knows it,they're spending 500- 3000 $ on iPhones !! And they're buying from Amazon !! People just don't want to admit that they're lazy and buy from Amazon.
