I have some friends and distant relatives who are police officers. One of the strangest things to me in this trial so far is. You have EMTs, Fire, Police, lights, etc, all going on outside your home, and a man's body, a woman in a frantic situation yelling and crying. You also know who these people are. You're a police officer, whether local or out-of-town cop, but it's all happening in your front yard. You never go outside to see what's going on. You never come outside to help and see if they need any assistance. I'm not a cop, and if this was going on outside my home, I would go outside. A cop's intuition is that much more typically. My point is unless you are hiding something or not getting involved intentionally. So strange!!

Are you saying there was a fight or argument between O’Keefe and Read? If yes, maybe they’ve seen it all before and didn’t want to get involved. Who knows. But to suggest they knowingly left their friend and colleague in the snow to die is too far of a stretch.

Lots of people want the defendant to be innocent or have decided ahead of time that she is innocent purely because she is female combined with the belief that all police are corrupt - that’s my opinion based on reading comments. It’s not possible to say she is innocent or guilty. The trial is ongoing. The jury weigh the evidence. The judge follows the rules and as much as it may rub the ‘innocent no need for a trial’ brigade the wrong way there will be a verdict based on evidence. The defense are pushing the boundaries and rightly so. I’m sure the prosecution will do the same. Phew. I await the hate.

At some point, it will become an appellate issue. It’s her courtroom, her rules; but she is not permitted to disrupt the proceedings in a manner that detracts from the party’s ability to prosecute or defend. She’s been way too active (like referees not allowing players to play). Not allowing the attorneys to state reasons for objections already risks appellate review, and now she’s shutting down questioning in the middle of - & not to enhance the flow of presentation or for the efficient use of time & resources; indeed, it’s very possible that the witness being examined could have finished today. But, in not even bothering to inquire, the judge has done what she has admonished the lawyers not to do & the witness will need to return tomorrow! As for not following “the rules” - that’s bs. A question is not objectionable bc it impeaches someone! Tough questions are not objectionable in & of themselves! In sustaining the incessant objections to tough hitting questions, she’s playing sides & unnecessarily risking reversal & remand, if not reprimand, by an appellate court. The whole thing is on the verge of a circus.

She referred to John as her husband and she loved him. its okay for her to have a break down at the crime scene. Someone asked if she hit him and she may have repeated with a question mark. (I hit him, I hit him, I hit him???) And as for her stating its all her fault it because she should have went and stayed with him and this would not have happened.
