- King Charles recorded a powerful Easter message for the Royal Maundy Service praising people who “extend the hand of friendship, especially in a time of need”.
It is the King’s first public words since the Princess of Wales revealed that she was undergoing chemotherapy.
Charles also apologised for not being able to attend Worcester Cathedral with his wife Queen Camilla.

The service and duty the Royal family provides is a blessing.
From a person who lives in a country where a former leader uses religion as a tool for his own benefit - when King Charles speaks of “the Lord,” I truly believe his sincerity. It was a beautiful message. I also have cancer, and I will pray that he and Princess Catherine will overcome this horrible illness.

Listening and watching Their Majesties, I always wonder what an undertaking for them at that age. But they perform their duties together with such devotion, grace and dedication. Queen Elizabeth was a true model of life service. I then think back to history when Queen Victoria became Queen at 18. Wow! So young, and you are now the monarch of an empire. As an American woman, I am so impressed with the traditions of the British people.
